Green was a conflicted on how he should feel. On one hand, he was glad to be able to win those building competitions and show off the creative side of him. On the other hand, he wonders if it was getting his friends jealous of him worth it. He admits that he’s a lot to handle.
While he’s good with creativity skills, Red’s good with handling animals and the animals all bond with him much quicker than they would with any of them. Yellow is a natural with Redstone , he’s always making machinery that helps with the gang. Blue is a great farmer and a natural at potion brewing. Most of the things they eat are what he planted. Orange is a natural leader, and they could all see it. Green sees Orange as a leader and as a best friend, with Orange doing the same.
But lately, he feels as if he was pushing his friend’s feelings aside for the trophy. He sees how they blow up his creation, probably as a joke since it doesn’t hurt anyone. He thought maybe he was doing something wrong and should tone it down a little. But he couldn’t help himself wanting to show them that he can be good at something just like them. He wanted to show them that he was just as good as them so they would not get bored of him.
Green felt like he needed to prove himself, but by doing so, he seemed to have forgotten about his friends’ feelings. Until they brought it up to him one day.
“It’s a little hard for us to enjoy this when you brag about your wins all the time. Sometimes I wish you were a little less perfect.” Blue didn’t really mean what he said at the time, but he was just a little peeved that Green had won another building competition.
‘I wish I was as well.’ Green thought.
Green spent the rest of the day in his room. He was thinking over what Blue had said and wondered if they all truly thought he was just that. He himself wondered if this meant he was a stuck up who needed to win everything every time. Green tried not to let that get to him, but he failed miserably.
The Second Coming popped into his room a couple of times over the day, asking him if he wanted to join them for something but Green wasn’t paying attention. All he said was that he was tired, and he wasn’t interested in joining them for the time being.
When night-time came, he laid down in bed and fell asleep. He was exhausted despite not doing anything other than building earlier during the day.
---
The next morning Green woke up, he could see that the others already had been doing something of their own. Red, Blue, and Yellow all seem to be enjoying the old arcade machine. Since the art program was running, Green guessed that Second was currently animating something with Alan.
Hopping over to the art program, he could see they were enjoying themselves, so he decided to just sit and watch. Alan was the first to notice him since Second had his back facing him.
“Hey there.” Alan typed out.
Green greeted back with a note, and this caught the attention of Second. Out of all the stick figures, Green was currently the only one who uses sound to communicate, having learned it from the note block universe when they were travelling through portals.
Second took a brief glance at Green before turning back to animating with Alan. This caught both Green and Alan both off guard as Second would usually greet the stick figures before continuing whatever he was doing before they show up. They would then spend time watching until they ultimately decide to do something together.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” Alan typed out to Second.
Second took a look at the cursor than back at Green before shrugging and continuing what he was doing. Green slumped his shoulders, feeling a little dejected. Seeing this, Alan minimised the drawing program, to which Second fell from where he was standing. It took him a second to get up and point to the cursor, asking what Alan was doing.
This caught the attention of the other sticks. They stopped hovering around the arcade machine and were looking at the animator then to Second. They then noticed Green standing further away. Green waved at them, but they didn’t wave back.
Green was even more confused as to what was happening. Usually, they would be so happy to see each other. But now things are becoming awkward and weird between them.
The Second Coming eventually stopped arguing with Alan, only to walk past Green, shoving him away slightly. Now Green was confused, and so was Alan.
When Green saw Second going to the rest of the gang, he rushed over to join them. However, they weren’t so keen on letting him join. They pulled out their diamond swords and stood against him. Alan tried to calm things down by taking the swords away from them, but this only succeeded in the sticks taking out the cursor.
The four of them advanced on Green, attempting to block his every path of escape. Red jumped ahead and slashed at his leg, to which Green avoided. Running up the stairs, Yellow tried to cut him off by stabbing him, but he managed to dodge it.
His room was on the first floor, which was easy for him to access. Blocking the door, he could hear the other banging on it. Green jumped into bed and hid under the sheets. It doesn’t do anything, but it does help him calm down slightly.
He could hear the door break down. Footsteps entered his room and stop. Slowly, he removed the covers to look at his friends. Green could only see three of them.
The last thing he saw was Second jumping at him with his sword drawn, intending to put it through his chest.
---
Green jolted awake. He was alone in his room. It was now daytime, so it meant he slept through the night, most probably through the morning as well.
He went down to Second’s room, only to find it empty. Going up to Blue and Red’s room, they were empty as well. They weren’t outside so this could mean they were all probably up in Yellow’s room.
Sure enough, they were all there. Yellow was showing off something he made from using Redstone and it involved a couple of parrots Red tamed. The four of them didn’t seem to realise Green was watching them and this made Green a little insecure. He thought his dream was becoming reality.
Slowly, he walked off into his own room, missing how Blue called out to him. He laid in bed and started crying silently.
“I think there’s something wrong.” Blue said, grabbing the attention of the rest.
Together, they went down to the first floor. Blue knocked on the door but received no response. They could hear some shuffling from the other side but no other movement.
Eventually, Yellow got tired of waiting and opened the door to see their friend hiding under the covers. The covers were moving quick but with small movements. They could tell Green had been crying.
Green felt himself pulled out from under his covers and covered his face, expecting the worst. But all he felt was just his friends hugging him.
“Are you okay?” Blue asked.
The day before, both of them left each other on quite a bitter note. He was hoping they could move on from there and continue hanging out like they usually do.
With a shake of his head, Green latched onto Blue.
They stayed there for a while, even when Alan went online, they stayed together in Green’s room.
“I had a nightmare.” Was all that Green said.
The rest of them stayed together when Green told them what he dreamt about. Also sharing his fears and insecurities.
They all hugged him and reassured him that they would never turn their backs against him like that.
Blue apologised for what he said the other day, believing that was what gave Green his moment of increased insecurity. Green just said to not worry about it, also adding he should’ve told them earlier instead of keeping everything bottled up.
The rest of the day went as normal as it could. Alan was confused as to why the sticks keep blowing up Green’s creations every time he wins a building contest.
