Work Text:
Every time it happened, it was almost like an afterthought. Nagi’s eyes sparkled in remembrance, like he suddenly recalled they were dating, and that he was allowed to do it whenever he wanted to.
It always came out of nowhere too, because Nagi had 0 sense of timing, and just did it whenever he wanted to, rather than when it logically made sense.
But Nagi himself didn’t logically make sense, and he ran on emotion and instinct and the cues from other people. So when he told Isagi he kissed him because he looked like he wanted to be kissed, it totally and completely made sense, because maybe he did. Maybe he wanted to be kissed a million times more, because kissing Nagi was easy and calm and often the most relaxing thing he did all day.
Nagi’s kisses were lazy, and often missed the center of his mouth by half an inch, kissing him first on the corner of his mouth and his cheek to catch his attention. Nagi wasn’t demanding, and he let Isagi stop when he wanted to, because even kissing for 30 seconds was enough. He always smiled when Isagi pulled away, because of course he was happy. Oh so pleased with himself as he laid there, content to let Isagi play with the soft waves of hair surrounding his face while he smiled up at him.
Isagi always completely forgot the train of their conversation, distracted as he was by the sudden and intimate display of affection from Nagi. Nagi never remembered either, but Isagi was sure he hadn’t even been paying attention to what he was saying in the first place.
The only thing he remembered was the feeling of Nagi’s hand on the back of his neck, pulling him down to meet him, or the feeling of Nagi’s slightly chapped lips, soft and wet as he had licked them just before requesting the kiss.
Isagi could never complain, because if it was so unimportant that he forgot it so quickly, then it really didn’t matter.
What really mattered, was Nagi’s soft smile, and the way the pads of his fingers felt against his cheek as Nagi reached up to him again, content to lay in his lap as he asked, this time with a little more warning and grace, if they could kiss some more before Isagi started talking again.
