This Christmas Eve was different, both Maya and Carina were off for the next two days meaning it was their first full Christmas together. The couple was getting ready to go to a Christmas party at the Bailey/Warren’s.
Maya was ready and Carina was just finishing her make up. They were running a bit late for Maya’s standards and she was becoming a bit impatient.
“Come on Carina, we’re gonna be late” Maya called.
Carina then appeared in front of her looking stunning. “Let’s open a present before we go” Carina but her lip and used her puppy dog eyes. Maya relented and Carina led her to the living room.
Carina handed Maya what she guessed was a jewelry box and slowly began to unwrap it and opened the lid fully expecting some sort of jewelry Carina would want her to wear tonight. Instead she pulled out a piece of paper. Maya shot Carina a very confused look and began to unfold the paper. She immediately recognized the Grey-Sloan logo and kept unfolding curious as to what Carina was up to. She unfolded the paper and read it and then looked at Carina in shock.
“I know we should have done the test together but it’s too early for a urine test and I wanted to be able to surprise you on Christmas” Carina rambled.
“I love it! Car- we are going to be moms! This is the best gift I’ve ever gotten!” Maya beamed and then leaned in for a kiss.
When they parted, Maya spoke up “now we have to get going or Amelia is going to make jokes all night about how we were late because we were having sex.” Carina giggled and they both got up getting their coats and presents and left for the party holding hands.
