Chapter Text
“Hey Summer, can’t sleep?”
”Yeah…”
”Well, how about a bedtime story?”
”Yeah!”
”Alright then! Might as well start off with the good old fashioned…”
Once upon a time in the heart of France, a handsome young prince named Hunter lived in a shining castle. Although he had everything his heart desired, the prince was selfish and cruel.
Hunter sat on his chair as his servants did his makeup and hair. When they were finished, a male servant with dark skin handed Hunter a mirror. Hunter looked in the mirror and smirked.
He taxes his subjects to fill his castle with the most beautiful objects.
“Your majesty, it’s time.” A dark skinned man with dark purple hair told the prince. A man checked his pocket watch that’s arrow moved at nine-pm. A female servant with brown hair and tan skin handed the prince a candelabra.
“Oh, wait!” The castle maid with lavender hair said, she dusted the candle a little with her feather duster before the prince could take it. When she was finished, the prince took the candle.
And his parties, with the most beautiful people.
Hunter sat on his throne, beautiful women and handsome man stood nervously wearing fancy dresses and suits, the prince snapped his fingers, letting the dance began.
Oh, how divine
Glamour, music, and magic combine
See the maidens so anxious to shine
Look for a sign that enhances chances
She'll be his special one
The attendants of the ball danced with each other, waltzing and dancing. Hunter danced with the man and woman as the music went on.
What a display
What a breathtaking, thrilling array
Every prince, every dog has his day
And I'll sing with passion, gusto, fit to bust
Oh, not a care in the world
But then, the doors were thrown upon, the music stoped, thunder boomed. The doors were opened by an old woman, wearing a green cloak.
Then on a harsh winter night, an old woman came to the castle requesting shelter from the bitter cold. She had no riches, only offering a beautiful red rose in return.
Hunter sneered at the old woman’s appearance and rose, and laughed. The attendants of the party awkwardly laughed along.
Repulsed by her haggard appearance, the prince sneered at the gift and turned the old woman away.
Hunter took the rose from the old woman’s hands, and threw it on the ground.
But she warned him not to be deceived by appearances, for beauty is found within.
However, when he dismissed her again, the old woman’s ugliness melted away to reveal a beautiful enchantress.
The enchantress was bright as the sun, lights shined all over the castle. The attendants of the castle screamed and ran away in fear. Hunter fell on his knees in shock and regret.
A little boy with black hair walked back into the castle, curious to see the enchantress.
”KING!” A female servant yelled, chasing after the boy who was her son, not wanting him to get hurt.
The Afro-Latina servant and castle maid with purple hair hold onto each other tightly in fear. The rest of the staff watched in horror and fear as the enchantress stared down at the prince in disapproval.
The prince tried to apologize, but it was too late, for she had seen that there was no love in his heart, and as punishment, she transformed him into a terrifying beast, placing a powerful spell on the castle, and all who lived there.
As days turned into years, the prince and his servants were forgotten by the world. For the enchantress had erased all memory of them from the minds of the people they loved.
But the rose she had offered was truly a magical rose, if he could learn to love another, and earn their love in return by the time the last rose petal fall, then the spell would be broken. If not, he would be doomed to remain a beast for all time.
As the years passed, he fell into despair, and lost all hope, for who could ever learn to love a beast?
”This is where I come into the story…”
