Friday, December 25th, 2020
Christmas was a sacred time. Whether you were actually a christian or just celebrated it to be celebrating, people didn't really question it's impact on the world. Even those who didn't celebrate the holiday were forced to hear all about it for at least a month, lets be honest, longer, every year.
But, for two teenagers, Izuku Midoriya and Shoto Todoroki, this Christmas would be impactful for a whole other reason. At least, it would be if Izuku could get up the nerve to come out to Shoto.
Lets set the scene.
It's Christmas, but just barely. The clock had only hit midnight a few minutes prior and the two teens were still awake, playing video games in Izuku's house. That was were Shoto was spending most of Christmas, and the break in general.
Izuku had been trying to come out to Shoto since the start of the second semester, three months prior, but had, obviously, been unsuccessful.
So much could go wrong.
The world still wasn't the most accepting place ever. Shoto probably wouldn't know what they were talking about, he was raised pretty sheltered after all. There was a good chance Shoto was transphobic, just because of how he was raised.
Izuku really didn't want to lose their boyfriend. Or, if they couldn't stay together, best friend. But....
They also really didn't want to stay closeted for....Well, forever....
So they had to tell him...right now.
Technically, they didn't have to tell him right now. But, if they didn't, they never would. So, right now it was.
Izuku waited a few more minutes until the game was over, before beginning to speak.
"Sho?"
"Yeah?" The dual-haired boy questioned, looking over at the smaller teen, as serious as ever.
"Have you ever heard of the term 'agender'?" Izuku was sure he hadn't, so was surprised when Shoto nodded.
"It's someone who doesn't have a gender. Right?"
Izuku nodded. "Exactly."
"Why?"
"Because...." Izuku trailed off "I'm agender."
"Oh, okay."
"That's it?"
"....Um....Name and pronouns?"
"Still Izuku, They/Them."
"Noted."
"Do you have anything else to say?"
"No."
"Are we still dating?"
"Yes."
Izuku wasn't sure what to say, or do. They hadn't known exactly what to expect, but it definitely wasn't this. "How did you know what agender means?"
Shoto shrugged. "I have internet access."
"I....I guess that's true." Izuku admitted "I just...didn't really expected you to know it....Most people don't."
Shoto shrugged again "Do you want to play again?"
Izuku nodded, smiling. "You're so going down."
"You've said that every time. I've won every time." Shoto pointed out.
"Not this time."
"Another repeat."
Izuku ignored him, instead hitting the play button.
They just knew they would win this time!
