Molly Weasley had always wanted a little girl, so when she gave birth to her seventh son and the healer said she could have no more...it would kill her...she was devastated. Molly loved her sons, she wouldn't trade them for anything, but Merlin all she wanted was a little girl.
So, when little JJ, the youngest of the 'boys', came to her one day proclaiming that he, she, was not a boy. She was a girl, well....Molly couldn't say she wasn't thrilled.
Maybe Ginny wasn't the most...sterotypically feminine person ever, but she was enough. Enough for her parents and siblings. Eventually enough for herself.
Would she be enough for Luna?

When Pandora Lovegood was pregnant with Luna she was convinced it was a girl, the healers promised a boy....They had both been wrong....
Luna was born early, on a cold February morning. A boy, the healers exclaimed. A few years later Luna established herself as a girl.
She was wrong.
Luna wasn't a girl. Luna wasn't a boy. Luna wasn't defined by others expectations, no matter who they were.
Did Ginny fit into that 'no matter'?

Ginny looked at her girlfriend, she hadn't expected to see her this Christmas with everything going on, but they had managed a visit....Something Ginny was both grateful for and terrified of.
The teens had been hanging out for a while before Ginny got up her Gryffindor courage, and quickly passed Luna a note. Maybe it wasn't the bravest way to come out, but....Coming out in itself was brave enough for now.
Luna didn't seem to mind the note or find it odd. She merely began to silently read it. Calm and serene as ever.
Dear Luna,
If you were to look at my birth certificate you would find an 'M' indicating male. This is not a mistake.
This might not make sense, but I need to tell you. Even if it leads us to breaking up.
When I was born the healers thought I was a boy because of my body. I'm not a boy, I'm a girl. But, I didn't realize that until I was five or so.
Legally I'm a fifteen year old boy, not named Ginevra. But, legalities aren't important. I am a girl, and my name is Ginevra, Ginny.
I hope you still respect me as a girl, even if I can not remain you're girlfriend.

Luna read over the letter a few times before collecting a piece of parchment and a pen, beginning her own letter.
Ginny was slightly terrified. What if Luna decided that she wasn't worthy of being talked to anymore? But, she was mostly curious of what the slightly older teen was writing.
A few minutes later she learned, when Luna handed the letter over.
Dear Ginny,
When I was born the healers thought I was a boy because of my body. When I was three I came out as a girl.
However, I now know that is wrong. I'm a demigirl. Partially a girl, partially not.
Nothing has changed, otherwise, however.
I one hundred percent still want you as my girlfriend, if you still want me as yours.

Ginny read over the note for what felt like a million times. She didn't believe her eyes. It's not that she thought Luna was lying, it was just...shocking....
Her girlfriend accepted her! Her girlfriend didn't want to break up! Her girlfriend was also trans!
It was unbelievable, but she had to believe it. It was true after all. It was really true.
Ginny looked over at the blonde before wrapping her in a tight hug.
She loved her girlfriend more than anything.
