It was New Year's, Tradionallly In Ninjago you visit family, but this Year The People from Ninjago have set a Celebration for the Ninja, as a Thanks for saving the City. Of course the Team wouldn't want to miss out on that, plus it would be rude to not attend to the Celebration.
In Ninjago New year's was very important, so they felt honored to be celebrated with. With 8 hours remaining till the Celebration started they went to an ancient Shop they heard from sensei Wu to find modest clothes, specifically red. Red means the colour of Luck.
Nya decided on a Cheongsam, an ankle high dress that covered the neck. It had a golden dragon stretch from the shoulder to the waist. As a Child she used to were them often, but they were really old ones with scratches everywhere. This one felt luxurious, she doesn't really like wearing dresses but this was amazing.
Kai wore a Red hanfu, his neck was also covered. The Sleeves were baggy almost covering his hands. His waist was secured with a tight rope, His Pants were dress-like, He could move flowly in it but it had a trouser like cut out. In his chest was a writing of gold. The Hanfu was mostly Black and Red with gold writing in some parts.
Cole had a shenyi, it was used as casual clothing back in the old times. "to wrap the body deep within cloth" it meant.
It was a long robe that could cover the whole body. He was mostly dressed in black, his signature colour. He also had golden writing on his sleeve that were very bagy. His waist was covered not that tight, the rope (zhijupao) did enhaist his waist but not to an extreme matter.
Jay had a Pinyin, it was more like an S-curved overlap. It halfly covered his neck, the curve went on till the waist before curving to the right side. It was a light blue mixed with the same red colour that Nya wore. It rather looked slanted. The Pinyin originally was made for Women, but Jay didn't really care about that.
Zane had an embroided Tang on it looked alike to a shirt, the buttons though were held on by little knots, it was a rather loose tang. It stopped at his thighs. It was very nice too look at. The Tang was red and clean with a mandarin Collar. his Pants were white. his Tang had alot of little details, like writing and dragons. He planed on going out with Pixal after the Party, She couldn't come since she had to stay behind to watch out from the bounty if something did happen. But she didn't like crowded areas so it worked out for her.
Lloyd had on a Dragon robe, also known as gunlongpao, he insisted on wearing it at first since only important people of Ninjago like the First Spinjitzu Master wore that. But since he is technically the grandson of him, the Green Ninja and current Ninjagos Savior everyone begged him to wear it. Secretly Lloyd was excited to wear it. It was a beautiful Robe decorated with Dragons spread symmetrically on it. The Dragons were Green with Golden sparks that shined beautifully. The Cloth was mostly Red that stopped somewhere under his knees. The Sleeves were very Loose, you probably could fit another 7 arms in there. Lloyd decided to were a Rope with that it was pretty big, but pretty. It shined like gold, it almost look like he was wearing real gold.
He looked at himself in the mirror
"Wait Nya paint that one bright Blue" Lloyd heard a distant voice, be turned around to see Nya putting on Nail polish on Jay. They both put Make-up on, Jay didn't like it extreme but Nya would love to make her lips bright red with the coolest eye shadow ever. And it actually looked amazing. Zane was talking with one of the Security guards that would led them to the Celebration. Cole and Kai were with Jay and Nya testing out the Make up. He made his way to the Make up kit wanting to put on some nail polish too.
"You look great dude" Cole got Lloyd's attention. You could see a wide grin on his face. "Thank you, it's comfortable too" he added. Lloyd grabbed a black and a green polish, he wanted to make the mixed. Carefully he painted on his left side of the hand. The right side would be hard, Kai noticed and did the right side for him. It turned out super clean, Kai was a perfectionist after all. Everyone chattered till the time came.
"The Celebration starts in 30 minutes, we should get going" the Nindroid stated. Everyone got up rushing to the bounty, This was definetly going to be an epic Celebration.
Lloyd leaned on the Railing looking over the city. Kai sneaked up to him.
"You know this celebration is for us to relax" Lloyd made eye contact with Kai "So don't worry about it" he finished. Lloyd smiled.
Kai was always like a big brother to him. The time when the Volcano erupted Kai actually started to feel protective over him. Lloyd has burn marks of Kais hand on his back from when he saved him. It's Lloyd's favourite scar. Kai is the person that will listen to anything says. he will sit and listen to everything you say. He will always know what to say at the perfect moment, how to comfort you and has pretty good advice.
Nya was very special to him too. When Lloyd first got accepted on the bounty he spent most of his time alone with Nya. At first she avoided the little 'gremlin' at all cost but as more they hung out the more she got to learn about Lloyd. The child told a traumatic experience from Darkleys as if it was nothing, as if he was used to it. At that moment Nyas heart warmed up. She would do anything for him at this point.
Pixal however is different. They have a weird dynamic. Nobody knows that they actually get along the best. Back when Sensei Wu was gone and Lloyd was left alone in the Monastery. He was at his lowest. He thought he would be okay. Oh he was completely wrong. Everyday was getting harder. He started Hallucinating and having alot more Nightmares. He couldn't call the Ninja, he didn't wanna bother anyone. He lost his mind and started doing things he thought he would never do again. If it hadn't been for Pixal he probably wouldn't be alive right now. After Pixal saved Lloyd from committing he begged her not to tell anyone, he was on his knees. It wasn't the first time he tried. After his Possesion things weren't going any better so he tried. he failed and ended up in the hospital. He promised Kai not to do it again, Pixal saw the genuine guilt in his eyes.
And with the warmest Heart she had, Pixal didn't tell anyone.
"Guys come on let's go!" Cole called out leaving the Bounty. Everyone followed. Lloyd fist bumped Pixal before he left too. they were lead to a backstage by the Staff.
It was a big room with sofas and tables on the sides. They waited till it was time to go on the Stage. The music from the outside were definetly heard. Lloyd and Nya sat down. The water Ninja rested her arm on his other side of the shoulder giving him a side hug.
"I hope you enjoy the Party" Nya said enthusiastically.
He smiled, Nya was definetly going to blast off at the Celebration.
The Staff informed them that hey could go out on the stage.
As he stepped out Lights hit his face immediately, it was hard to see. Music and screams of fans could be heard. They made it to the middle and the cameras were fixated on them.
"Ninjagos Saviours here with us today!" a lady yelled out in a mic. The crowd went wild.
Jay analyzed the crowd. He could see some people dressed as the Ninja, he saw a little kid dressed as Sensei Wu, he giggled at that while pointing it out to Cole.
"How do you guys feel to be here?" she asked Zane who was the closest to her. The ice Ninja looked at the others before answering.
"We're excited to be here, but mostly we're honored to be invited to such a special event" he bowed, the others followed.
The lady asked more questions to Zane that answered all. Lloyd looked around to see Jay and Nya holding hands. There was a rumour going around that Jay and a cashier were dating.
"The shows will be beginning now, you guys could settle to the seats right there if you would" she pointed out. All of them immediately sat down relaxing and ready to watch the show.
It was mostly dances and a song by a Band that was famous among teenagers. At the end they played a recap of how often the Ninja saved Ninjago.
When Harumi popped up Jay gave Lloyd a side eye. He knows how painful it is to get heartbroken. When Nya emerged with the Water he felt like he lost his heart, like he lost the whole meaning of his life. It was the lowest point of his life. Everyone knows how hard Lloyd fell for the Princess. And how bad she betrayed him. He played with his heart. Even after Overlords defeat when Harumi showed up with Lloyd and Garmadon he told the Ninja that she was on the good side now.
In his Opinion, Lloyd is the most forgiving person he knows.
When the Recap ended the Ninja decided to take a short walk through the city near the festival.
They stopped near a shop where Zane got cotton candy for all of them. They got into a circle and chattered about all the memories they have made this year.
"Remember that one time when Kai got so frustrated when Cole beat his record in Rust 2!" Jay barely got out while laughing. Kai didn't look amused at all. Lloyd really liked that memory. Seeing Kai on the floor watching all his work going to waste was funny.
"I hope we all get through this year safely" Cole said. He was like the Parent of the Team. Even though Lloyd was the leader, he was the youngest too making it a bit hard for him. He used to cook for the Team too but since everyone disliked it Zane and Nya mostly do it now. In his Opinion his cooking wasnt that bad.
"Now that the Overload is gone things will hopefully be easier to deal with" Zane replied. He's right, The Overload is gone and most Villians are on the good side now. Things were going great.
The time was 23:45, 15 minutes till the fireworks started. They decided to make their way to the Festival. It was very crowded. So they squeezed their way through the people. Seeing the Fireworks from the front would probably be the best. When the group made it you could see how huge the fireworks actually were, they looked dangerous too.
Nya heard in the news that people actually went deaf and got pretty injured while setting fireworks like these even though they were pretty far away because it got out of control.
So of course they made a distance from the fireworks, still near to it but safe for now. It was professionally done anyways, whats the worst that could happen?
The time went pretty quickly, only 5 minutes left. You could see children at the front being held by their parents so that they would not run around. Kai held Lloyd by the arm and grinned. Lloyd didn't get why he did that before realizing. He got out of his grip trying not to laugh. The Big screen showed how long was left. It had already started counting down from 50.
They tried to go back, failing they just accepted it. They were going to breath a lot of smoke.. Last New year's Jay threw up because he breath in too much smoke. But to his suprise Jay was alredy wearing a mask. And he hadn't brought any for the others? wow.
It starte counting down from 20. He looked around to see the excitement of the others. Kai and Cole were already counting Loudly, Zane silently enjoyed the moment meanwhile Jay and Nya kissed. Ew, Not like he wasn't happy for them but he hadn't liked anything romantic or something like that. Lloyd couldn't imagine himself in a Relationship.
Is The time had come and everyone started counting down.
"10!"
"9!"
"8!"
"7!"
"6!"
"5!"
the fireworks were close to be set off.
"4"
There was distant screaming from someone?
"3!"
Lloyd saw a child on the floor crying out for her Mom
"2!"
He panicked, Lloyd couldn't just ignore her. She could probably die. But he had so short time to save her, If he would move now he himself would get injured.. badly
"1!"
Well.. he was the Green Ninja. It was his duty.
He jumped in to get the Girl, the fireworks set of and the tripped. All he could do now was protect her from the fire.

Kai and Zane saw how Lloyd had jumped in the fireworks. Kai panicked, why would he do that. He tried to get in to get Lloyd but the Fireworks were to extreme, he could barely breath. He looked back at Zane.
"There's a child in there with Lloyd" he informed. Jay and the others realized the situation. But the crowd hadn't. There was a mother going crazy for her daughter. She thought her daughter was dying in there.
Why were the fireworks this powerful? That wasn't normal was it. People from the crowd started to back out. Everybody could barely breath so they rushed to go back expect the Mother who was still crying out loud for her daughter.
Zane told Kai to get the Mother away from the fireworks. He was a Nindroid, he wouldn't get affected in the fireworks.

Lloyd heard the child crying in his arms. The Green Ninja felt like crying too. He couldn't move, everything hurt too much. The only thing in his mind was panic. What was he going to do. He probably was getting burnt alive right now, but he just couldn't move. Why couldn't he move? Wh-
He felt a hand grab for him, he was pulled back from the smoke. He wasn't dead right? After getting pulled out he was layed on the concrete floor. The girl let go of the Green Ninja and ran to her mum, she wasn't physically injured but probably mentally..
For Lloyd though he felt like his soul was being dragged out of him. All he could see was that the crowd had backed away alot and that some people were running? What had happend? He couldn't hear a thing. Only a high pitched beep that was only getting louder.
Lloyd stopped giving effort to hold on anymore, he let all his strength go. He was gonna hit his head on the concrete but luckily someone catched him before he could fall. He closed his eyes wishing just to wake up next to his Grandfather at this point.

Lloyd opened his eyes. Why was everything so white and fuzzy? Oh.. He was in the hospital. He started slowly waking up. Lloyd sat upright analyzing his situation right now. What happend..... oh. He remembers it all. New year's got ruined. He hadn't noticed the People on his left.
"Oh wow your awake faster than usual" Jay said. The others just sat there in silence. Why were they so awkward? Usually when he got injured wnd woke up they all clinged on him giving him hugs, why are they not doing that... not like he enjoys that..
"How long was I o-out" He didn't notice how his voice was raspy, it hurt to talk making him stutter mid sentence. Cole looked at the time.
"Like about 5 hours, not Alot. You should probably rest more" the earth Ninja said honestly.
So it was 5am right now? The lights were really bright that he thought the brightness was coming from outside.
Lloyd nodded slowly taking in all the information. He looked around while the Ninja anxiously stared at him. They were acting so weird. Lloyd looked down to his arm seeing everything bandaged up expect his fingers. Injuries like that happen, he wasn't that shocked about his arm. Lloyd checked his face. He definetly felt scars and bandages. His hearing was still pretty messed up but better than earlier. His face was probably going to heal in like 3 weeks leaving light scars.
He didn't get why everyone was so anxious, so he asked.
"What.. why'd you g'ys look so scared?" he looked at them with all seriousness.
"Lloyd, the fireworks got out of control after you fell in, about 50 people got injured" Nya answered.
So he injured people while trying to save someone?
Lloyd felt extreme guilt in him. Why did he try to save her when he couldn't even get her out of the smoke.
He felt so dumb and embarrassed after hearing that.
"I'm sorry" The Green Ninjas voice sounded full of guilt. Nya was taken back when he said that.
"Nonono- It wasn't you. The Fireworks were
hacked or something like that by some People that were trying to figure out who" she spat out trying to reassure the blonde.
Hackers? How do you even hack fireworks.. Well it was good to know that it wasn't his fault.
"Ohh, i thought you guys were mad at me" Lloyd was reliefed that the Ninja weren't mad at him, he did do something dumb so he did expect them to be mad actually.
"Well no and yes, if you wouldn't have your oni blood you probably would've been dead now" Cole said sitting on his bed cross armed.
Thanks to his oni blood he wasn't dead, well good for him. Being half oni does have his advantages after all.
"Were just happy that you are still.. not so injured" Nya gave him a hug.
They tried to make up for new years with talking about more fun memories. All the times they felt like Family.
Family?
Maybe after all Family doesn't mean being linked by blood, having the same mother. Being Family means having someone you can trust and love. Someone you know will always be there for you. Someone that helps you through your hardest times. Someone who always forgives you. Someone who you feel like is your real Family.

I spent so much time for the research on the traditional clothes of China. Plus my work got deleted when I forgot to save it once so I had to rewrite this all.
I had no motivation after it got deleted but I already had started it so I ended it.
I worked on this for straight 7 hours. Finished it in a day ❤️
