Chapter Text
"Are we there yet?" Tuk asked for what felt like the millionth time, she couldn't sit still at the back of the car, too excited to arrive at Funland, it was her first time afterall.
Jake couldn't help but sigh looking beside him to see that Neytiri had taken a nap, or perhaps judging by the way she was holding in her breath, it was more likely that she was pretending to be asleep.
And Jake couldn't really blame her, not after an almost three hour car ride filled with nothing but screams, fights and arguments about who took the last cheese puff from the snack bag.
(It was definitely Tuk)
It took Neteyam being the best older brother that he was to distract Tuk once again by playing I spy with her, enough to last the remaining thirty minutes that it took to finally arrive at Funland.
All while Lo' ak loudly snored in the back with his mouth open and at one point Kiri had caught the perfect moment when spit started to dribble from the corner of his mouth.
Perfect blackmail for next time.
"Ok Kids we finally arrived" Jake exclaimed, he made sure to roll his eyes at the person struggling to park in front of him, and was only stopped from complaining outloud by Neytiri who gave a slap to her husband's arm.
There would be no dadexplaining on that day, thank you very much.
Once the Sully family was all out and the kids were ready to ditch everyone to explore on their own, Neytiri made sure to give them her best evil eye, the type of stare that would stop an army on it's own, giving Jake just enough time to explain to futile ears the ground rules.
"Okay we have three hours here and then we need to go before traffic really starts to pick up, Now your mother and I will be with Tuk at the kid's rides, Kiri I think you'll like the green forest experience they have here and"...
Jake made sure to narrow his eyes at the two boys especially Lo'ak who was trying his best to put on his "I swear to not cause any more natural disasters" face.
"And as for you two, Neteyam take care of your brother and Lo'ak... Stay away from the rollercoasters you know that they make you extremely sick" Jake warned.
"Yes sir".
"Okay you have been warned, we will meet you guys exactly here next to this fountain in three hour's time yes?" Jake finished.
"Yes sir".... And then they vanished leaving nothing behind them except an over excited Tuk who was already yelling to go on the moving teacups.
Sighing Jake picked Tuk up, carrying her on his shoulders as Neytiri came up beside him and put a comforting hand around his waist.
"They are going to get into trouble aren't they?" Jake asked.
"Of course they are, did you even have to ask that ma Jake?" Was Neytiri's simple matter of fact answer as she guided Jake along to where the moving tea cups were found.
They were both definitely getting a headache once this was over.
(At the forest immersive experience)
Okay maybe the headache inducing three hour car ride was worth it, Kiri thought as she walked around the forest exbibit.
The outside was a giant green house but on the inside, Kiri was left amazed to see tall trees and great, branching vines present inside.
And what was amazing was the fact that they were real, Plants of different colours and sizes lined every corner and Kiri couldn't help but let out an excited gasp as she looked at the section filled with venomous plants, her favourite.
Maybe this stupid trip wasn't so bad afterall.
She walked further into the exhibit, her eyes looking like bright stars as a pair of bright orange butterflies flew past her to land on a nearby leaf.
The place was pratically empty which suited Kiri even better, the rest of the visitors choosing the more interesting rides rather than looking at plants.
Idiots, boring idiots Kiri thought to herself.
She was glad a moment later that her brothers weren't there to hear here high pitched squeal which she would absolutely deny as her eyes landed on a table selling small plants.
But not just any plants no, they were selling tiny Venus traps in a small brown pot but even from this distance Kiri could see that the plant had grown its apparatus to move and kill.
She wanted one. And she was going to get one matter of fact.
Her mum loved nature so that was easy and well dad, he was easy to convince, it only took a pout of her lips and her eyes to convince him to let her to do anything she wants.
So she got the plant.
The nice lady that sold it to her put it into a box and everything , even tied it with a pretty yellow bow.
Satisfied Kiri finally left the exhibit on the search for something to eat, Car snacks don't actually count so she needed to fuel up for the rest of the time they had there.
Happy with the tiny deadly plant in her hands, she missed to see the crowd that had gathered next to the Great Canyon roller coaster.
But what she didn't miss were the sounds of pitiful retching and vomiting, yikes some loser was really going through it she thought absentmindedly before being distracted by a cart selling Nutella churros ahead.
(At the Great Canyon roller coaster... Well just beside it)
"Fucking hell----"
"Shit.... Ahhh that was fast I..."
"I think I'm done..... Wait no...""
This had been going on for a few minutes now after Neteyam failed to convince Lo'ak to not try the most dangerous and fastest roller coaster of the park.
But his brother lacked a few brain cells sometimes so instead here he was with his hand on Lo'ak's back trying to comfort him as the latter puked his entire stomach content out, cheese puffs and all.
Not the way Neteyam imagined his evening going. But hey he could always use this moment in the future, he would make sure that Lo'ak will never forget it.
"Okay, I'm done" Lo'ak finally let out exhausted, he put a hand on his stomach feeling how empty it is before looking at his brother an idea already forming.
A bad idea no doubt Neteyam thought.
"Hey want to get something to eat?"
Oh it was.
"You want to eat after just puking your guts out?" Neteyam asked perplexed, and after receiving a pleading nod and countless "pls bro" he relented with a sigh.
"Fine let's find you more stuff to throw up for the next ride".
(At the teacups)
" Again!!! Again!!!!" Tuk screamed, she waved her hands excitedly around and even at the prospect of her dad pullling her away, she grabbed tightly on to the the teacup railing and did not let go.
"Sweetie, it's the fifth time already don't you want to try something new?" Neytiri tried to reason, by the third time on the blasted moving metal contraption she felt the room spinning around her, seeing three Tuks and three Jakes around her the more they spun.
Well three Jakes wouldn't be too bad would it she thought in a daze before slapping herself to focus.
"No Again, again it's too fun!!" Tuk exclaimed, she laughed at her dad beside her who Neytiri thought had passed away at one point as he was unresponsive before shaking himself back into reality.
Who knew that a slow moving tea cup would make you feel like you have been hit by a bus?
'Okay how about we do something different like your mum said?" Jake tried to reason slowly, he had to think fast when he saw the formation of tears at the corner of Tuk's eyes.
Quick, quick what's the universal solution to all of your kid's problems??
" Uh.... How about we go for Ice cream instead? " Jake thought quickly, he saw Neytiri release a breath of relief before giving him a thumbs up when Tuk started to yell excitedly for Ice cream rather than the ride.
Problem solved.
(On a bench, a random nice bench definitely not burning hot from the sun)
"Huh this is not as bad as I thought it would be" Jake finally whispered, he made sure not to raise his voice too much to avoid waking up Tuk who had fallen asleep after eating a shit ton of bubble gum ice cream.
The bench they sat on overlooked most of the rides below them giving Jake and Neytiri who cuddled next to each other a nice view to look at as the sun was setting.
Jake couldn't help resting his head on Neytiri's shoulder who gave him an affectionate peck on his cheek.
It's been so long since it was just the two of them, well it wasn't exactly the two of them but it was the most quiet they had experienced in a while.
"Damn, things have been crazy lately" Jake let out and he felt Neytiri's answering hum against his cheek.
"But I wouldn't change a damn thing" he answered happily, closing his eyes for a moment to bask in this peaceful moment with the love of his life.
This was nice, and it lasted only a few seconds before Neytiri pushed Jack violently away almost knocking him on the ground before yelling at something below them.
Confused Jack rubbed his eyes before getting up to see what the hell had just disturbed his lovely peace.
The answer was evident enough as without a doubt what they were just seeing right now was Lo'ak running at full speed with Neteyam matching him on his other side as they ran away from what looked like the Amusement park officers.
And to add worse to injury they both could see clearly that Kiri was also present up ahead, standing on a table and armed with churros as she threw them at the officers to distract them from her brothers.
There it is, Jake sighed rubbing his temple, there's the headache.
