He still thinks about it all the time, all this effort of memorizing has awarded him with an archive of Neteyam's laughter and scowls, his pride and the scars swirling around his back. Even something as unspectacular as sitting here will keep his mind occupied for another couple weeks. He knows he loves Neteyam because there's nobody he ever cared so much for, and caring is the one thing saving him from seeming unreachable.

And to mess things up just a bit more, they also have siblings they have to look after. They both have resigned to the idea they have to suck it up and keep going as they have always done.
Then the sky people come back. And Neteyam and his family take the drastic decision to leave their land, their people, and seek refuge between the Matkayina. And, somehow, at some point, for many reasons, Neteyam and Aonung...simply find each other.And their kids are about to learn everything about it.
