Chapter Text
It was a peaceful day at Dragon’s Edge because for once, Hiccup gave the gang a day off because of the fiasco of babysitting the baby Deathsong. Currently the dragon riders were all relaxing in the clubhouse. The twins making up plans for Loki day, Snotlout sleeping on Hookfang, Astrid was sharpening her axe, Fishlegs was reading the book of the dragons for the 100th time and Hiccup was drawing. It was all calm and relaxing until they got sucked into a portal.
“What just happened?!” Hiccup exclaimed, he looked around and saw his friends lying beside him and saw the rest of Berk piled on top of each other. His father was on the bottom of the pile looking every bit annoyed.
“If you don't get off me right now I'll feed you to the skull crusher!” Stoick threatened, which made everyone get off him quickly. Stoick got up and walked over to his son, who was helping Astrid up.
“Son, do you have any idea where we are?” Stoick questioned, looking at the joined hands of the oblivious couple. They hadn’t seemed to notice that they hadn't let go of each other's hands yet, Stoick smiled when he looked at the pair, he swore he was going to lock them both up if they didn't get together soon he thought.
“I have no idea dad, we were just sitting in the clubhouse when all of a sudden we were sucked into a portal…” His son's voice trailed off and stared at something behind him, curious Stoick looked over his shoulder to see a teenage girl, walking out of a door, oblivious to the stare she was receiving. When she looked over and caught Stoick stare she smiled and walked towards him.
“Hello Stoick,” she greeted, “Dragon riders” she nodded her head towards them in greeting. The Vikings were staring at her in surprise and curiosity which made the girl smile.
“I bet you're all wondering what you're doing here” The girl said to the whole of Berk.
“Well, you're here because you guys are going to react to your future” She said smiling at their shocked faces.
“How is that possible?” Fishlegs asked.
“To put it simply, this dark room is a theatre which will show what will happen two years in the future so,” The girl paused to pull out a remote. “Go to the seat with your name on it and sit back and enjoy the show!.” No one moved, they didn’t trust this girl and what she was saying was witchcraft! Even if she was telling the truth, isn’t seeing the future would have massive consequences?
The twins though, to no one's surprise whooped in joy and started looking for their seats.
“I can’t wait to see how good I look in the future,” Tuffnut said to his sister.
“Same! I wonder if we become prank gods'” Ruffnut said, her eyes twinkling mischievously.
“Oh that would be the worst thing to happen ever” Snotlout said, butting in and now also looking for his seat.
“I bet I will get really handsome, what do you say Astrid?” Snotlout said, waggling his eyebrows to the girl who glared at him in return. Hands still intertwined Hiccup looked over at Astrid and said “So, shall we go find our seats Milady?” Astrid looked back up at Hiccup in surprise at the nickname, he hasn’t called her that in years.
“Milady? Seriously Hiccup, ” Snotlout said, not noticing the conjoined hands between the two.
“I think it’s sweet, what say you sister?” Tuffnut questioned his sister who said nothing and looked at the pair, one who was blushing and the other who was scolding. She finally took note of their hands and smiled mischievously. Noticing her gaze the two looked and saw their hands together, to which they quickly released out of the other's grip and turned away from each other, both blushing embarrassingly.
“I’m going to go find my seat now,” Astrid said, not looking at Hiccup at all and walked over to look at the rest of them. The rest of Berk decided to follow the dragon riders lead and look for their seats.
Fishlegs turned to Hiccup who now had a questioning look on his face.
“Do you believe that girl Hiccup? I mean she didn’t look harmful but this whole future thing seems absurd,” Hiccup looked back at Fishlegs and said “I don’t know Fishlegs but what I do know is that we’re not leaving here until we watch what we watch.”
And with that the two riders joined their friends in the front row which seemed to be where their seats were. At the end of the row was Fishlegs, who was seated next to Snotlout, followed by Ruffnut and then Tuffnut, Hiccup and finally Astrid.
Behind them was Stoick, Gobber, Spitelout, and the village council. Out of nowhere the girl appeared in front of them. She held the remote in the air and said “And now the show has commenced” she disappeared as fast as she appeared and the riders looked at one another with the same thought in their minds. This is going to be interesting.
