Work Text:
Harry was 16 when he found out that Regulus Black was alive. He was sixteen and was running away from his family, just like his godfather did at his age. It's not like his parents were bad! They were... They were good. They tried their best but Harry... well... Harry lived 12 years without them. He had been abused by the Dursleys and used by a senile old man. He had been more than ready in the past, to greet Death like an old friend and still felt half-dead more often than not ever since his encounter with Dementors. Harry didn't remember much from the time he found out his parents were alive – it was all a blur. James and Lily had apparently been stuck in a healing room for twelve years. When they woke up and met Harry, Lily cried because she was expecting to see her fifteen months old baby. Harry was not a baby. He was not even a kid. Dumbledore and the Dursleys made sure he didn't have a childhood. And don't even start on Dumbles. He may not have been the monster Harry's mind pictured him to be but that wouldn't stop Harry from blaming him anyway.
Finding out that his parents were alive should have been a dream come true... and it was! It was. It's just... well... Lily and James missed so much from his life. They were strangers and while they did try to get to know Harry, it was a slow process. Harry saw the look on James' face when he didn't call them “mom” and “dad” but how was he supposed to do that? It sounded so wrong in his mind. He tried a couple of times to make them happy but he couldn't bring himself to call them that every time. It just... didn't seem right.
The night Harry disarmed Voldemort at the graveyard (when he was fourteen) was the night his parents first opened their eyes in a private Hospital where Dumbledore had stashed them. Harry later found out that his parents were furious with Albus for letting Harry (and everyone else) believe that they were dead. Still, that didn't stop them from listening to the old man when he told them that Harry would have to stay a bit longer with the Dursleys while James and Lily recovered from their long stay in a coma.
They weren't happy when they later made an appointment with the Healer for Harry and discovered the abuse.
Harry knew that they were trying but between them trusting Dumbledore (despite the man's numerous numerous fucks up) and them trying to baby him he was... it was suffocating.
Harry didn't grow up surrounded by love and affection. He didn't know what to do with the sudden amount of it. He couldn't stop his magic from lashing out every time they touched him without warning. He couldn't stand Sirius' looks every time it happened. It's not like he was doing it on purpose! It just... it just happened.
[In a Flight, Fight or Freeze situation, Harry chose to flee.]
August 2022
He was hiding from the Marauders when he discovered a hidden room in one of the few Black Houses that Sirius still had access to despite having been disowned. The house had belonged to his uncle Alphard and the man had left it to Sirius when he passed away. James and Sirius had been trying to get him to help them create new pranks lately, as some kind of bonding activity. Only Remus had noticed how uncomfortable Harry looked.
The teen didn't like pranks or, well... He liked the pranks the Weasley twins invented because they were funny. The pranks the Marauders played reminded him of his bully of a cousin and he didn't like that.
It might sound like whining and maybe he was but Harry tried. He really tried.
There is just only so long you can try until you feel like you're suffocating.
So here he was, hiding in a room that had just appeared out of nowhere. There wasn't much in the room but it was a nice place, filled with old paintings, parchments and books. Harry may have been sorted into Gryffindor but that didn't mean that he didn't like reading or learning. That just meant that his recklessness surpassed every other trait. And let's not forget that he begged the Hat to not put him into Slytherin.
That was something he would never tell his father though he suspected that Lily would be a lot more accepting.
He was looking at the parchments when something caught his attention in the corner of his eye. Turning on his heels, a gasp escaped him when he recognized the giant painting as a tapestry. It was an old family tree. The Black Family tree. He was looking at the scorched mark where Sirius' face had once been when something made him frown.
Regulus Arcturus Black.
The line circling his face and name shined in gold. Most of the Tree was lined in black because it meant that they were dead. Sirius and Regulus, on the other hand, were surrounded by golden strings but that was impossible... Sirius told him that his little brother was dead.
Did Sirius lie? Or did he truly think his brother was dead? The Tapestry couldn't be wrong, Harry knew that kind of magic well enough to know that you couldn't deceive a magical Family Tree.
So that meant that Regulus Black was alive... somewhere.
It looked like Harry had a new mystery to solve.
Harry left a month after turning seventeen. He never told Sirius that his brother was alive. He didn't know why at the time. Maybe it was because if Regulus had faked his death and not told his brother, he must have had a reason. He never told Sirius about the hidden room either. He doubted Sirius would have been happy especially if the room only appeared to Harry. He really could do without people thinking he was dark or blaming him for something every fucking single year. Well, his fifth year wasn't too bad but the constant whispers behind his back and calling him the Man-Who-Conquered even though he was still a teen was freakin' annoying and made him sick.
Wizarding Britain was suffocating and he wanted to leave. So he did. He prepared his journey thoroughly.
He didn't go to Gringotts. He knew his parents wouldn't cut him off of money. They wouldn't want him to starve to death or something but he also didn't want to be found and he... he didn't want to depend on someone. So he glanced at the money he had in his bag (the money he had taken two years prior and never used) and decided that it would keep him afloat for a while.
He didn't go far; he hid in muggle London. While some would say it was stupid, Harry knew Wixen well enough to know that they wouldn't think of looking for him in the Muggle World. Especially not if they listened to Dumbledore: the man would tell them that Harry loved the magical world too much to hide with the Muggles.
Harry wouldn't tell you how he managed to track down Regulus Black – mostly because it involved Blood Magic and asking questions to shady no-majs- but he did.
He showed up in Grimmauld Place one morning, knocking at the door and greeting a bewildered Regulus Black before introducing himself.
The guy didn't look 30. In fact, he looked barely 22 but then again, who knew what had happened to him? He had heard from Remus that Sirius was more handsome than his brother but Remus was biased because of his crush on Padfoot. Harry though... Harry thought that Regulus was very handsome.
“How the Hell did you find this place?” the man asked after letting Harry enter the house. “This place is under Fidelius.”
Harry shrugged.
“Those spells don't really work on me.”
The incredulous look Regulus sent him told him that this explanation didn't explain anything. Well, too bad because Harry had no clue.
“So... What are you doing here? Did my brother send you?”
The teenager snorted:
“Sirius doesn't know you're alive. Everyone still believes you are dead.”
The bewildered look was back and Harry continued before Regulus could ask how he knew he was alive.
“There was a hidden room in Sirius' house. And there was a tapestry there. A Black Family Tree. You weren't listed as dead so I investigated. I dunno why. I just did.”
He just did.
That sentence resonated in Regulus' mind.
That was the only reason the boy gave him and Regulus didn't ask for more although, there was one thing...
“You do know that everyone is searching for you? They think you've been kidnapped.”
The teen snorted and sat on a chair.
“I left a note saying that I needed to do some Self-Exploration. I'd hardly call that being kidnapped.”
That got a laugh out of the man. Startled, Harry looked back at the Black Heir and he felt his cheeks reddening.
Regulus looked nice when he laughed. (1)
Strangely enough, the man invited him to stay. Neither knew why but Harry accepted anyway. It's not like he had anywhere to stay and he didn't even know what he wanted to do despite having prepared his “trip” for a while now.
It seemed like meeting Regulus had upset all of his plans. Harry wasn't complaining.
For the next few weeks, they got to get to know each other. Harry found out that Regulus joined the Death Eaters when he was sixteen and deserted when he was 18, destroying one of Voldemort's precious artefacts in the process. That was how he “died”. In return, Regulus found out that Harry couldn't cope with his parent's return after growing up with abusive relatives during all this time.
Regulus told Harry about the Horcruxes and Harry told the Black Heir about his deadly adventures at Hogwarts. Then they spent quite a few times copiously insulting both Dumbledore and Voldemort. Fun times indeed.
Regulus was very surprised to see Kreacher take a liking to Harry. While the teen was obviously muggle-raised, he was polite and always ready to help. He was also the kind of person to love books so whenever Regulus or Kreacher suggested a book on Wizardry etiquette or tradition, they knew that Harry would devour it.
It also helped that Harry destroyed a Horcrux (or two) just like Regulus did before him.
They had known each other for six weeks when one morning, Harry found Regulus sitting on the couch, battling with -
“Are you holding a phone!?” Harry almost screeched because he couldn't help it.
Regulus was startled and almost dropped the smartphone on the floor but managed to catch it before the screen shattered on the ground.
“Ah, yes,” he mumbled. “I had to change my old telephone and I'm trying to get accustomed to this,” he told Harry, gesturing to the thing he was holding.
Harry's nose scrunched when he recognized the thing as an iPhone.
“Figured you'd go for Apple.”
Regulus blinked.
“I would probably be amused and insulted if I knew what you were talking about but as it is, I just asked the vendor to help me choose a phone.”
“And you chose the most expensive one?”
“I mean, I figured that the most expensive one would work better.”
Harry snickered. He didn't have anything against Apple, it just wasn't for him.
“How much did you spend on this?” he asked, raising a brow.
He was mentally preparing himself for the answer but Regulus just shrugged.
“I don't think you truly want to know.”
“You're right I probably will regret asking but... come on, tell me.”
Harry squeaked in indignation when Regulus revealed the price and proceeded to attack the other man with a pillow that was on the couch.
On September 12th, Harry said “fuck it” and opened a Youtube account. When Regulus found him later, he insisted to help set up his channel. In the end, they named it Onyx & Tsavorite. He needed to pass the time after all. He didn't just drop out of school to do nothing, no. He would continue to learn and pass his NEWTs at the Ministry in March and he would make sure that this information wasn't leaked before he took he passed his exams. He didn't need the added stress. Still, he had a lot more free time at Grimmauld Place than he did at Hogwarts and Regulus was bored too. That and the fact that Harry found out that Regulus could play the guitar and had a nice voice, well... It didn't take long before they started to record their music sessions.
Their first couple of videos didn't go viral – not that he expected it. They didn't make any real effort to edit the video apart from the few things they learned by watching tutorials. Which was why Regulus was shocked when, one morning, he checked their channel and found out that their latest video – a Riptide cover- gained more than 123k views in the past two days.
Regulus checked out the comments first because he knew that if he showed Harry and the boy saw negative things, his sense of self-esteem would take the plunge. Most were positive with only a couple of people who had nothing better to do than to point out that the background looked like a haunted house straight from a horror movie. Which... fair enough.
Still, overall it was very positive so Regulus tightened his hold on his phone and climbed up the stairs. Months before, you wouldn't have caught him dead with muggle technology (it was already nothing short of a miracle that his co-workers at the flower shop got him to buy a cellphone, to begin with) but now if he was to be separated from his phone, he would feel slightly nervous and vulnerable.
Knocking on the door of Harry's bedroom (actually, it was Sirius' old room but they had set it up to suit Harry and removed all the naked ladies' posters), he opened the door only to find the boy curled up around his bunny plushie. It was a simple beige rabbit plush that Regulus had gotten from work one day. Don't ask. His boss sometimes gave them things. When his boss found out that Regulus had gained an 18 years-old flatmate, he gave him the plush to give to his new roommate as some sort of 'welcome gift'. And, sure, Harry was seventeen but he was of age in the Magical world so they made it look like he was of age in the muggle world. Nobody knew Harry's supposed age (18) anyway apart from Regulus' boss and Harry's boss and co-workers at the coffee shop down the street. Because turns out the job Harry got at the coffee shop was just across from the Flower Shop Regulus had been working at for four years.
Lips twitching in amusement, the older man walked over to the bed and sat on the mattress, beside Harry. Green eyes blinked open to stare at him with a sleepy expression.
“Reg?”
The Black Heir bit back a coo and instead extended his right arm to card his finger through Harry's black locks.
His hair was soft at the touch but wild. It looked a bit tamer since Harry started to let it grow.
“We've gone viral.”
“What.”
The flat tone made him smile. Harry didn't look all that awake yet.
“Our last cover has a lot of views and we gained a bunch of subscribers.”
Harry sat up with a groan.
“Wait... Really?”
Regulus hummed in confirmation and handed him his phone, smirking when the green-eyed wizard choked on his saliva at the sight that greeted him.
“Oh.”
Regulus expected many things; incredulity, denial, and joy. He did not expect Harry to yank him into bed with him to lay on top of him.
“That's good and all but it's only 7 am and I wanna sleep a bit more.”
“Wha -”
“Sleep,” the teen mumbled into his neck.
Regulus swallowed, cheeks reddening as heat crept up his neck. He should have pushed Harry and stood up, that would have been the proper thing to do. Instead, Regulus wrapped an arm around the younger wizard and rolled them over so that they were side by side and closed his eyes, Harry's hair tickling his nose.
May 2023
Barty woke up with blurry eyes and felt like he had taken a bludger to the head. He couldn't remember much from last night but because he woke up in the same bed as Travers (the cousin, not the Death Eater), it had probably been a wild ride – no pun intended. After his master's failed plan and subsequent death at the hands of a ruthless and probably half-suicidal fourteen-year-old, Barty didn't waste any time and escaped Hogwarts before he could be discovered. He ended up wandering in the Muggle world and made a life for himself there. He worked at Walmart and owned a place left by his mom. While he didn't own a big place, he could live off of his inheritance (since his sad excuse of a father never officially disowned him and was now dead) but that would be boring. So he tried to act like a responsible adult and he found a job. He didn't hate it. Even if it was so... muggle. He never hated muggles, to begin with – that was just something he took up when he started following the Dark Lord.
He'd been living in the Muggle World for two years when he found out that he wasn't the only one who had left the Wixen World. He was just scrolling Twitter when one of his friends and co-worker retweeted a video and Barty was shocked to recognise two familiar wizards. One of which was supposedly dead and the other missing.
Obviously, he found their youtube channel and subscribed because what else was he supposed to do? He couldn't just approach them like that, it would look suspicious. He would just keep an eye on them.
It didn't take long before curiosity got the best of him (he was a Ravenclaw after all) and he decided to listen to one of their covers.
Spoiler alert: he loved it.
So now, months later, he had become a bit of a fan.
Blinking, Barty opened his eyes and grabbed his phone to look at the time when he saw a Twitter notification.
Now, he followed a few dozen of accounts on Twitter so he shouldn't jump to a conclusion but considering that it was nearing the end of the weekend and his favourite duo had been hinting at a new release, Barty kinda hoped that it would be them.
And it was:

Just by looking at the tweet, Barty could tell that it was signed by Tsavorite and not Onyx. Regulus had always been more introverted and less... excited. Tsavorite... Harry... was a lot more cheerful via text.
“Aw ~” he cooed quietly, squinting his eyes at the screen.
Then his brain processed the rest of the tweet and he jumped into action. Half-awake, he didn't think to click on the link. Instead, he left Twitter and opened his youtube app.
Excitedly, he taped on the most recent video and a grin appeared on his face when the first notes echoed.
He hadn't seen Regulus this happy in a while. The small smiles that he was giving Harry in most of those videos were something that he hadn't seen since before they received the Dark Mark. Speaking of Dark Marks... Where the Hell was his!? On-screen Regulus wore a sleeveless T-Shirt that showed off his arms... His bare arms. There was no mark in there, no awful black tattoo-like mark. Did they edit it out? No, tattoos looked cool and muggles didn't know about the Mark (even if some half-bloods and muggle-borns might... or purebloods like him).
Regulus was sitting on the couch, playing his guitar. Harry was just beside him, almost pressed against the Black Heir and he had only eyes for him. It was pretty sweet but Barty also felt like he was invading a private moment.
There was a movement and Barty blinked when a small black head appeared on top of Harry's lap. Oh. Oh! Oh, it was sooo cute! The tiny black kitten from Onyx & Tsavorite's post was climbing Harry's lap and would have fallen had Harry not caught him. He watched the boy cradle the kitten against his chest while listening to the music and singing softly with Regulus.
“Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light [...]”
Barty resisted the urge to squeal when the video came to an end. Behind him, the mattress shifted and a weight fell onto his back. He felt Travers lean his head on his shoulder.
“What are you looking at?”
Silvanus Travers was not a Death Eater, unlike his cousin. He didn't do the same... mistake... as Barty. He did not believe in the Dark Lord's ideas either even if he wanted to practice the Olde Ways again.
Barty shrugged and showed him his screen.
“A... err... duo... They cover songs.”
“My, my, my ~ I had no idea you even owned a phone. You'll have to give me your number, darling.”
Barty blushed to the roots of his hair. He was aware, even as Sylvianus pulled him toward him, that he stuttered a reply but everything was lost in the lustful feeling of a naked body pressed against his and lips on his own.
June 2023
May gave way to June and one morning, an owl flew to the coffee shop where Harry worked. Harry took the message and gave some beacon to the bird of prey. While the owl was enjoying its meal, Harry took a deep breath and opened the envelope. He had taken his NEWTs a bit later than he thought he would and instead of taking them incognito to the Ministry in March, he took them took in Irland on April 1st. No, it didn't take the Irish Board of Education a month to overseas the exam results but they did send a bunch of results at the same time.
He breathed in relief when he saw that his results were good enough. More than good enough actually. Sure, they probably weren't as good as Hermione's (whom he expected were straight O's) but he only had one A which was in Potions and the rest were EE's and O's - even Divination.
With a relieved chuckle, he made sure that he was alone before pulling out his wand and duplicating his NEWTs results. That done, he summoned a new envelope and pulled the copy there.
“Ah, you're still there. Good,” he told the owl before extending the envelope toward the bird. “Would you mind dropping this to Lily Potter on your way home?”
The owl tilted its head to the side and hopped to him, letting him tuck the envelope in its claw.
“Thank you,” he said, petting the owl one last time before it took flight.
It may come as a surprise or not but despite not having seen his parents in ten months or so, he was in contact with them. It was exclusively owls because he didn't want to give them access to their Floo despite having Regulus' approval. Even if they were under Fidelius and Sirius couldn't recall the address because of this, Harry didn't want to give away his location. He also... well... he wasn't sure that seeing his parents was a good idea.
They tried to track him down on more than one occasion to the point that he threatened to just cut off all contact if they continued.
The next morning, Harry rolled over on the bed and came face to face with a sleepy Regulus. Last night was a bit of a blur. They went to a party for a friend's engagement and left late. When they came back home, it was almost 3 am. Neither was too drunk – as a matter of fact, Harry rarely drank alcohol and usually made sure he didn't drunk enough to be wasted. Still, they were exhausted so they dropped dead in the nearest bedroom which happened to be Regulus'.
The Boy-Who-Lived giggled when he saw Regulus scrunch up his nose, a scowl aimed at the ray of sunshine that filtered in the room. Harry rolled over and snuggled closer to the older man, smiling when Regulus sneaked an arm around his waist and buried his nose in Harry's hair.
It was nice.

This tweet reeks of Tsavorite's anxiousness & cheekiness. I love it.
Regulus was just scrolling through the replies on their latest tweets when a user grabbed his attention. It could... it could be a coincidence. It had to be! As far as he knew, his best friend was dead. He had died more than a decade ago in Azkaban. There was no reason... he couldn't have possibly survived... right?
“Reg?” a sleepy voice called him. “What are ya doing?”
Regulus glanced down at Harry who was laying on his side on the bed, wearing one of Reg's old T-Shirt. The T-Shirt in question was a Pink Floyd black T-Shirt (because Reg had taken a liking to that band) that went down to his knees. It looked like he was wearing a dress. For some reason, Harry just really liked wearing Regulus' clothes even if they were a bit too big on him. For some reason, Regulus loved seeing the other man in his clothes.
“I'm, uh, I'm looking through the comments.”
Harry still wouldn't look at the comments unless Regulus saw them first. Reg couldn't care less about negative comments so it didn't bother him. What bothered him was seeing Harry question his own sense of self-worth every time he'd stumble upon negative comments. Harry had started to learn to ignore those but there would still be times when he would go back to bad habits of believing those. Still, the positive comments were overwhelming besides the negative or creepy ones.
“Oh?”
“Yeah, there's a... There's a Bartimaeus Cross who comments on almost every post. He's a fan.”
Seeing Harry suddenly open his eyes and sit up made him pause.
“Did you say 'Bartimaeus... Cross'?”
“Yeah...”
Harry stared at him in silence before squinting at him.
“W – What?”
“Forgive me if I'm mistaken but... wasn't Barty Crouch Jr around your age?”
Regulus swallowed. So he wasn't the only one to tick at the name.
“Yeah... He was my best friend.”
Harry raised a brow at him and Regulus forced himself to shrug – a bad habit he had taken from a muggle co-worker and he knew his mother would have hit him with a curse if she had seen that.
Then again, had she still been alive, she would have screamed and disciplined him before disowning him for all the muggle things they stocked in Grimmauld Place. Even Kreacher had given up on mumbling things about muggles after he had noticed how happy Master Regulus looked.
Harry stared at him for a few seconds before he tilted his head to the side and said:
“Barty Crouch Jr impersonated my DADA teacher Alastor Moody during my fourth year at Hogwarts.”
Regulus froze.
“What?”
“You heard me. He was my teacher though nobody know who he was. He revealed himself to me after the end of the Triwizard Tournament and escaped before Dumbles even came after us.”
Harry crawled over to him and wrapped his arms around Regulus' neck, hugging him close.
“Oh.”
What did that mean? What were they supposed to do? Should they try to approach Barty? Would the other wizard try to hurt Harry... or Regulus for deserting Voldemort's ranks?
Harry took the matter into his own hands, quite literally, by grabbing Regulus' phone.
Reg looked over his shoulders.

Hello, Barty! We missed you.
Then, he handed the phone to Regulus and pulled him down to lie next to him.
“There. Done.”
Regulus snorted. Yes. They would let him deal with the sudden afflux of followers and questions.
Snickering, he rolled over and wrapped his arms around Harry's slim waist. So, while Barty was losing his mind in front of his amused lover, Onyx & Tsavorite were cuddling on their (Regulus') bed.
Harry giggled and pressed his leg on top of Reg's and snuggled closer, laughing when the older man mumbled something that sounded suspiciously like “fucking Barty...”.

This is so sweet. ♥
Admittedly, Lily had a hard time getting used to the new technologies, especially since she had all but left the muggle world behind once she got her Hogwarts letter. Oh, she still spent time with her family but she didn't take the time to find out about the new advancements as a kid, she was much too busy catching up on her muggle education to bother with anything else.
She found out about Harry's Youtube channel by coincidence. She was scrolling through Twitter (and truly, learning about social media had been a wild ride!) when she saw that one of her old friends, Laeticia Moon had a Twitter account. Laeticia was a former Ravenclaw and one of the first persons to re-appear in Lily's life once they had grown accustomed to being 'alive' again (not that they had been dead, to begin with. The curse had just put them into a deep sleep. Which was why some called it the Sleeping Beauty Curse). Laeticia's daughter, Lily had been one of Harry's classmates and apparently, they had been friends despite Lily Moon being a Slytherin and Harry, a Gryffindor. – not that Lily (Potter) had known that before Harry went missing.
There were a lot of things that Lily hadn't known before Harry left; like the fact that Harry enjoyed reading a lot. He liked quiet places and reading outside. Care of Magical Creatures was his favourite subject although Charms, DADA and Runes came close. Her son loved listening to music and writing poems. She had found entire pages that were crossed, filled with words. Sometimes it was something sweet. Other times, what she found written on those pages worried her and she realized that Petunia and her husband's abuse had had far-reaching consequences on the mental health of her child. Her baby hated going to those parties James dragged him into as soon as they were cleared by a healer. Lily wasn't a big fan of those parties but she didn't dislike them either. It seemed that all the noise and attention disturbed and annoyed Harry though as she found out in a couple of old letters exchanged with his friends.
Perhaps babying Harry was not what Harry needed but it was what Lily needed at the time. She had needed to get a grip on this new reality and she didn't manage to... get used to the fact that he was almost a grown man... that he had grown without her and James. Without Sirius and Remus either apparently (and yes, Sirius was a free man now).
It was thanks to Lily Moon that Lily Potter found out about Harry's channel. She had retweeted a tweet with a picture on it and Lily was startled to recognize her son.
Harry had changed. He had filled in: his face was no longer emaciated and the lines on his face showed that he smiled a lot more. Her boy had let his hair grow unlike James and had them gathered in a high ponytail. But what truly took her by surprise was that she recognized the man sitting next to him.
Well, no. She didn't completely recognise him at first but she did see how similar he looked to Sirius when the man was younger. The man beside Harry couldn't have been much older than her son but she was certain he had to be related to Sirius. The thing was... Sirius was the only Black left apart from Narcissa Malfoy and Andromeda Tonks. Everyone else had died out. Even Bellatrix Lestrange. That crazy bitch tried finally succumbed to the Dementor's Kiss when she tried to escape Azkaban after finding out (somehow) that her Lord had well and truly died.
Lily hadn't wasted any time in clicking on the original tweet and then on the profile of Onyx & Tsavorite.

Her research showed her that “Onyx & Tsavorite” was a duo constituted of “Onyx” and “Tsavorite” though some tweet's replies indicated that they answered to “Reg” and “Harry”, implying that it was their names or shortened versions of their names. Reg... Didn't Sirius have a little brother called... Regulus? Could it be? But wasn't Sirius's brother dead? And wasn't he a Death Eater? But the photograph clearly showed the man's bare arms and if they were in the muggle world (like Lily had been led to believe now) then he wouldn't have felt the need to hide his Dark Mark, would he? Purebloods lacked the common sense or rationality needed to think that: yes, he may be in the Muggle world but that didn't mean that muggle-raised Wixen wouldn't see this.
Was Sirius wrong then? If it was Regulus... maybe he didn't join You-Know-Who.
Onyx & Tsavorite were still a bit new to the world of music. They posted their videos almost exclusively on Youtube though they did post snippets of their music on Tiktok (because apparently, there was an app called “Tiktok” now. James had laughed so much when he heard that and Lily couldn't see why? Did she mock the Wixen World for that song called “Do the Hippogriff”? No. No, she didn't).
Anyway, it was all thanks to Lily Moon that she found out about her son's new life. Sure, Harry hadn't stopped writing to them but he never told them anything about his music-related life or his flatmate. He told them that he had a cool roommate and that he worked at a coffee shop but he stopped telling them about it after one of James' inconsiderate answers. Oh, Lily knew that James hadn't meant to sound quite so haughty about his job but even Lily had bristled. Harry didn't need money, they knew it because they didn't cut off his money access (why would they? They had no right? They could have but it wouldn't have been fair especially not since Harry just needed space) but Harry wanted independence and he loved his job apparently.
Lily loved her son no matter what. And if working at a muggle coffee shop and singing with a possibly not-dead-Regulus Black made him happy, then that was more than enough for her.
She just wished she could see him again. Soon, she would. And she would slap James and Sirius something silly if they dared to make them uncomfortable.

Just us✔ @Onyx&Tsavorite
Was anyone ever gonna tell us that Reg and I have been dating for a while or were we just supposed to come to that realisation one morning?

Later that evening found Harry and Regulus curled up together in bed. Harry was wearing one of Reg's opened shirts. The only thing he was wearing apart from that was a pair of boxers that Regulus was pretty sure also belonged to him.
That was more than fine by him.
Grimmauld Place finally looked like home for the first time in... forever. They had even managed to set up a music studio in one of the abandoned rooms. And the house itself looked so much brighter than it used to. Sure, they didn't get rid of the dark artefacts or books but that was because they were Blacks (well, Harry had some Black blood running down his veins as well but they were distantly related enough that it didn't disturb either of them).
A pair of lips brushed against his and Regulus leaned forward to enjoy the moment.
“So...” Harry started after a few minutes. “How do you feel about meeting my parents? And probably seeing Sirius again.”
Regulus choked on his saliva.
[Anything and everything for his green-eyed lover... but damn it Harry! A little warning, next time.]
