Villain Arcane

Summary:

When Oliver first met Marcus, he didn’t know he was a villain. He didn’t know his past, or his future, and he barely knew his present.
When Oliver first met Marcus, he would've never guessed that he would be such a big part of his near future— and maybe even his distant future.

Notes:

This work is inspired by bugs_onatugboat 's Frostbite AU, but since they haven't published any writing for it, I just put that this was a gift to them.
You can see their Frostbite AU on their Tumblr, toastybugguy. I would put a link to their tumblr, but idk how to do that in notes.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Prologue

Notes:

This is just the prologue so it is short as fuck. Other chapters will be longer, don't worry.

Chapter Text

When Oliver first met Marcus, he didn’t know he was a villain. He didn’t know his past, or his future, and he barely knew his present.

They bumped into each other when Oliver was on his way to a restaurant. It was like he came out of nowhere.

“Oh, sorry,” Oliver apologised, although he did feel the overwhelming urge to sanitise his hands.

“It’s okay; it was my fault.” Wow, his voice was deep. “Hey, you’re from the Elite Force,” He said with a smile.

“Yeah! Yeah, I am, how did you know that?” Oliver asked, joy in his voice. “I mean, I’m not the most recognised…”

“I just know,” He answered cryptically. “I’m Marcus,” He said, holding out his hand. Oliver shook it, though the urge got worse. Worth it, obeying social norms and all.

“Nice to meet you,” Oliver said politely.

“So, being in the elite force, you must face a lot of terrible things,” Marcus said, crossing his arms. “Terrifying, difficult things.” Oliver nodded admittedly.

“Yeah, it can get pretty tough. But we’re a good team.”

“What’s the worst thing you’ve faced?” Marcus asked, a curious look on his face.

“Oh, I’m afraid that’s classified,” Oliver said with a small nod. It was like he was trying to impress someone. Marcus chuckled and nodded.

“Well,” He said, “That’s a shame. He began to walk past, but stopped, close to Oliver, their shoulders almost touching. He turned so he could speak closely to Oliver, his deep voice thrumming close to his ear. “I get the feeling I’ll see you again. Can’t wait.”

And with that, he left. That was it.
