Kaidou was sitting on the sofa in Aren and his secret base they built together. He had nowhere else to go.
His mother was screaming at him again for something he couldn't control. He wished he could be the perfect daughter she wanted him to be.
He just ran out of the house when she wasn't looking, all he had on was a pair of sweatpants and an oversized shirt, he wasn't even wearing his bandages. He wanted to scream, he felt mad, sad, and confused about why she was so cruel to him.
He just needed to lie down for a minute.
At the same time that Kaidou was thinking all this, Kuboyasu was driving to Kaidou's house. They made plans to hang out that day, he wanted to get him.
Knocking on Kaidou's front door, his mother was the one to open the door. "Hello, ma'am. Is shun at home?" he questioned the woman glancing behind her.
"No" and with that no she slammed the door in his face.
He seriously wanted to punch her stupid face. But that didn't matter right now, where is shun? For some reason, he had a bad feeling.
*ring ring ring*
Kuboyasu has tried to call Kaidou over ten times now, it wasn't normal for him not to answer his phone.
That's it I'm gonna look for him, I swear if anyone hurt him ill beat the shit out of 'em
There weren't many places where Kaidou went to. So all the locations were checked quickly. But he still couldn't find Kaidou anywhere. Not his favorite coffee shop, not in the arcade, not in the park, hell he even called Nendo to ask if they were eating ramen that's how desperate he was.
Kuboyasu was never scared, but right now he was terrified. What if he was in danger or if some punks got into a fight with him?
He could just think of one more place for Kaidou to be, but he would never walk there alone. At least that's what he said. It was too scary for him to be all alone in a huge forest.
I have to check, that's the only place where he could be. with that thought, Kuboyas swung himself on his bike and went there as fast as he could, at one point the road stopped and he had to get off.
Panting he ran uphill to their secret base.
Please be there shun, please. At this point he was holding back tears, if Kaidou did disappear forever then Kuboyas could never tell him. He wouldn't be able to tell kaidou how much he cares for him and how much he loves Kaidou.
Kuboyasu ripped open the curtains of the base, and there he was. Kaidou was laying on the sofa. He looked exhausted, as Kuboyasu approached he saw that Kaidou wasn't wearing his usual red bandages. In the same place that the bandages would lay there were fresh wounds. Some of them healed up a bit, but the majority of them were at least a few days old.
How could Kuboyasu never have noticed, Kaidou was suffering, right in front of him? He could have helped Kaidou, why did he never tell him?
Kuboyasu sat down on the floor next to Kaidou, gently shaking him awake.
As kaidou slowly opened his eyes he saw Kuboyasu in front of him. He had never looked this worried. It took a few seconds for Kaidou to realize that he wasn't wearing his bandages.
Jumping up into a sitting position he tried to use one of the blankets on the sofa to cover himself up.
"Aren what are you doing here?" there was no answer, just silence. Kaidou couldn't act in front of his best friend anymore. He already saw.
"Why?" was the first word that broke the painful silence between them.
Kaidou wanted to answer, but he choked on his words.
What was he supposed to say? "don't worry about it, I just want to die so that everyone can finely be happy"
"I just needed to let my frustration out"
No matter what answer he thought of, it all sounded like something Kuboyasu wouldn't want to hear.
Why would he even care, no one else does.
you would be happier without me. Kaidou's voice was soft nearly a whisper.
Looking up Kaidou saw Kuboyasu's expression. Kaidou was confused, why did he look like he was about to cry? He looked so serious just a moment ago.
Kaidou's thoughts were interrupted by a hug. He could feel Kuboyasu's tears soaking his shirt.
"Never say something like that again" What did Kuboyasu mean?
D-did I say that out loud? Kaidou was shaking. Why did he say that? It was true. But he never meant to say it.
That was so selfish of him to say.
"I'm sorry" Is all that he could manage to say.
"Don't say that. It's not your fault." Kuboyasu let kaidou go looking into his eyes. "Shun, please never leave me. I love you too much to live without you"
Kaidou's eyes widened at his friend's remark. He feels the same-? No, he properly just means as a friend. Nobody would ever love me.
"I love you too. You're my best friend" He smiled a bit at Kuboyasu, it wasn't real. Kuboyasu could see that.
"No. Shun, I love you. You are the best that has ever happened to me, and I want you to be happy no matter what happens." What those words he kissed Kaidou on his forehead hoping he would understand that Kuboyasu didn't love him as a friend.
Kaidou's face was red as Kuboyasu kissed him. He loved him too. Kuboyasu was one of the only reasons he's still alive.
"Shun, I know it's not what you need right now. But will you be my boyfriend? The one who I will spend the rest of my life with?" It sounded more like a proposal than asking him out. But it was all the same for Kuboyasu. He knew he just wanted Kaidou, no one else.
Kaidou didn't know what to say. He was a blushing mess. He softly tackle hugged Kuboyasu and said yes.
He was never this happy before.
"How about we go to my place and clean you up a bit shun?"
"That sound's nice"
Kuboyasu was ready to be the best boyfriend to Kaidou. And when they would get to his place they could binge-watch all of Kaidou's favorite shows.
He could talk about the wounds later, it would most likely be too much for Kaidou right now.
He should just relax for now, Kaidou deserves it.
