Chapter Text
Light of the Stars
“This is Ezra Bridger, of the ISD Chimera ----- Our systems are failing, and our crew is in stasis. -----Our food and water supplies are depleted, and our Oxygen supplies will run out in 72 hours. This is a general distress call to any living thing out there in the void of deep space----- By the light of Lothal’s moons, please save us---”

Unlike the rest of the ship, the Navigators chamber, for once, was quiet. She could sense the flurry of activity that passed outside the doors. She wondered, if, or when, she would be called up to bridge.
Around her, younger navigators rested or played games. Various 13 year olds also chattered around her, with the occasional 10-year-old joining. Upon noticing that she was looking at them, one turned toward her fully.
“Vah’nya, what is going on outside? Why is everyone running around?”
She could feel everyone’s attention on her, the general curiosity floated around like snow on Cissila. It made sense why they would ask her, after all, at age 24 she was the oldest Navigator within the CDF. But truth be told, she had no idea the reasoning behind the angst that was coming from outside the doors. She merely smiled and reassured them.
“It is nothing to worry about, Ci’kari’i, Whatever it is, Commander Eli’van’to and Admiral Ar’lani would see to it is quickly resolved.”
Satisfied, she turned back to her group, gossiping about whatever they found gossip-worthy.
She sighed and relaxed into her bed, laying down and staring up at the ceiling.
Sooner or later, one of them would be called up, to play whatever part the officers wanted them to do, and she aspired to have the maximum energy for when it happened.
Closing her eyes, she was about to sleep completely when she felt it .
Her head nearly hit the bunk above her with how fast she got up.
The entire Navigator’s chamber had gone silent, clearly having felt whatever that was.
“What was that?” One of the Navigators asked. Vah’nya could not tell who it was, but it did not matter.
She closed her eyes, searching for it…
“What are you---”
“Quiet!” She cut them off, reaching out with the Sight.
Nothing.
She concentrated on the void looking for any trace. Surely something like that would…
There!
She quickly went to the exit, reaching for the button for the door control, then stopped, turning toward the several pair of red eyes that were observing her with curiosity and confusion.
“Stay here, okay? I’ll be night back” she instructed
Everyone nodded, and she turned and opened the door, and started in a sprint to the bridge.
Whatever it was, it needed help, and fast.

“Get me a line to any other fleet in the Area! I want a heading on that transmission 5 minutes ago! Now!!!”
Eli Vanto was never a calm man. It was expected, after all, to be the Commander in a Chiss warship, especially the flagship of the fleet, The Steadfast.
But the situation now warranted even more stress than usual.
“Where are the scans? And there any records of anomalous hyperspace activity?”
Eli turned to a sensory officer, whose hands frantically ran over a keyboard.
“Nothing since the original message, sir! Still scanning…”
For a moment, Eli let his mind wander. Wander To the Chimera and her crew. He wondered what would have happened to them, what made them come to the unknown space. To the ‘Ezra Bridger’ in the message. (Wasn’t he a Rebel?) What happened to Faro, Thrawn, and Hammerlly? And Chaos, where was the rest of the fleet?
Briefly, He turned to look towards Admiral Ar’Alani, who was engrossed in Star maps, trying to determine the position of the signal mathematically. She turned her head to him, making eye contact, before nodding and turning back to her work.
Eli set out a breath of air and pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Alright, then. Let’s just go and ----”
“PREPARE FOR HYPERSPACE JUMP!”
He turned and saw Vah’nya running towards the helm, several guards following. Eli noted that one was on the floor, unconscious.
He and Ar’alani blocked the way before she could completely reach the wheel.
“Senior Navigator Vah’nya, What are you doing!” He very nearly yelled but tempered at the last second for the sake that she might have something important to say.
“There is something out there, Commander! My and the other Navigators sensed it. Whatever is out there, it needs help, and fast! WE NEED TO JUMP TO HYPERSPACE!”
Eli turned to Ar’alani for the order, but he found her looking at him in a scrutinizing fashion. Her red eyes were narrowed at him, asking an unspoken question.
Eli raised his hands. “As per orders, the Navigators were not alerted.” He told her.
Ar’alani looked at him for a little while longer before turning toward the bridge, which was watching with bated breath.
“READY FOR JUMP TO HYPERSPACE!”
