Work Text:
The sun is high in the sky as the fluffy white clouds drift lazily in the gentle breeze right above the Wonder stage where the four troupemates are just about to start their practice for the day.
"Fufu~ You've all gathered just in time." Rui says casually, flipping through the papers that Tsukasa assumes are their new script.
"Of course!" Emu exclaims, almost jumping out of her seat, "I came here as soon as school ended! I just couldn't wait to see you three." A soft chuckle rolls down her lips. She's dressed casually into a pink hoodie and black sweatpants, her short hair put into a tiny ponytail, barely visible but still there.
"Enthusiastic as ever Emu-kun," Rui finally looks up from the script and shoots Emu a soft smile.
When finally met with his face, Tsukasa notices his bangs are pushed aside with a tiny heart hair clip, painted in wxs colors.
"You're holding a bunch of papers," Nene is the first one to point out, "Are those our new scripts?"
Rui's silent for a second, almost as if he's hesitant to reply. His eyes met Tsukasa's, who's impatiently bouncing his leg, in the audience seat. "Yes." He finally admits.
"Wah!!" Emu flaps her hands around, almost hitting Tsukasa "I wonder what Rui-kun came up with this time!"
"Hey Emu!!!" The blonde frowns but before he gets to scold her Rui cuts him off.
"For the next show I'd like to try out a few things." Rui smirks but his usual mischievous smile is not enough to fool Tsukasa who, knowing Rui for a while now, notices the hesitant look behind his eyes.
"Try what?" Nene asks, leaning onto Nene-robo, interested to hear what kind of surprise Rui came up with this time.
"I'd like to give Tsukasa a main female lead." He admits at last.
"HUH?" Tsukasa's eyes widen in surprise.
He wasn't exactly opposed to the idea per se but the suddenty of it did make him wonder what exactly did Rui have in store for him.
"Is that okay with you Tsukasa-kun?"
No matter how much Rui tries to hide it, Tsukasa can see his friend grow uneasy with each passing second he's forced to wait. Nene and Emu don't say anything either but Tsukasa can feel their stare on him.
In the end he just smiles, "If it's for you, my dear director, I'll try any role you see fit."
Wonderlands x Showtime, despite not existing for too long, has done quite a big number of shows together. From the shows on this very Wonder stage to all the exciting promotional performances. With each show they put on, they became closer and closer to achieving their dreams.
They've been troupmates long enough to know each other like the palm of their own hand. If one of them were to fall, the other three would be right there to pull them back up, showing the amount of trust they have in each other.
Tsukasa trusts Emu. He trusts that she'll memorize her lines and put on an excellent performance that will make the whole crowd smile.
Tsukasa trusts Nene and her ability to ad lib and save their show if the situation calls for it.
Tsukasa trusts Rui and his extraordinary style of directing.
It is thanks to Rui, after all, that he's finally started stepping out of his comfort zone, trying out the kind of roles he never played before, which are definitely proving to improve his acting skill. That's why if it's him that Rui wants to cast as a female lead—Tsukasa won't complain. After all, a star like him can pull off any role thrown at him.
Rui sighs with relief, "Thank you my star. I knew I could count on you."
"What play are we doing?" Nene asks.
"Oh right," Rui hands each one of them a spare copy of the script, "I was thinking of doing the sleeping beauty."
"HUH?!" Tsukasa gasps again, startling the other three. Rui's eyes widen in surprise and Tsukasa feels a bit guilty for scaring him like that. "You want me to…sleep the entire time?" A hint of disappointment flashes across his face.
"Now, Tsukasa-kun." Rui wipes a fake tear from his face, "I thought you wanted to try out any role I gave you." He sighs dramatically, "I guess I'll just have to give it to—"
"I'LL DO IT!"
Rui chuckles, in satisfaction, "As expected of our twinkling star."
"Playing asleep for so long sounds tough," Emu puffs her cheeks, "I mean you have to keep a straight face almost the entire play!!!"
"That will be a real challenge for Tsukasa." Nene mumbles.
"HEY I HEARD THAT!"
"Good!"
"Don't fight you two." Rui ruffles Nene's hair, shutting her up immediately.
"But I still don't get it…" Tsukasa scans the papers in his hands, "Wouldn't I be a better prince? He's all flashy and cool and I could totally pull off his charm."
"That's true," Rui admits, "But I was thinking of giving Emu the role of the prince."
"WONDERHOY!" Emu exclaims, throwing herself over Tsukasa's neck, "I promise to be the best prince to your Sleeping beauty Tsukasa-kun!!"
"Yeah yeah!" Tsukasa pulls her closer, not being able to deny her when she's showering him with so much affection, "If Rui thinks this is the best way to do this play then I'll trust him."
He hasn't let us down once after all. He thinks to himself.
"Now that that's settled, Nene and Nene-robo will be the fairies that look over Tsukasa-kun, our Sleeping beauty, and I'll be the wicked witch."
"That's fine with me," Nene shrugs. Despite her not very talkative personality she still smiles when she takes a look at the script in her hands, as if she can't wait to get on stage. Tsukasa smiles at the sight, knowing the feeling very well. After all, they're all connected with their mutual love for plays.
"Then, shall we get started?"
A week has passed since Wonderlands x Showtime started working on their next show. Rehearsing has been going smoothly, everybody has their lines pretty much memorized already but Tsukasa still can't shake off the feeling like he's not doing enough. Sure Sleeping beauty does have acting scenes when she meets the wicked witch and after she's awakened by the prince but most of her time is spent…sleeping.
He doesn't doubt Rui's directing by no means. It's simply a tad frustrating, having his eyes closed while the other three give it their all on stage. But it's okay because roles like this give Tsukasa more experience. They prepare him for the harsh reality of knowing that no, he won't always be able to land a main role, or a role with lots of screen time for that matter. It's a fact, undeniable, but still disappointing.
Rui seems to notice Tsukasa's troubled expression during one of their practices because he sits down next to him, bumping their shoulders together, "Something bothering you?"
"No." Tsukasa sighs, "I guess I still can't quite shake off this jealousy…"
"Tsukasa-kun." Rui speaks slowly and Tsukasa has to give it his all to not melt into his voice. It's okay for a second, Rui's voice is soft and calming. It's just what Tsukasa needs to snap back into reality. "Do you know why I casted you as the sleeping beauty?"
"Hm?" Tsukasa raises a brow, "Sure. Tell me."
"Well the version of Sleeping Beauty I wrote is, as you can already tell, a mash-up of a few different versions."
"Yeah?" Tsukasa urges him to keep on going.
"Sleeping Beauty is, in my opinion, a carefree girl, very lively—which makes her misfortune even sadder. For one, I feel like Emu wouldn't be able to keep a straight face, despite being a great choice for the role regardless. Nene probably would but…" Rui looks hesitant for a second, "What if she falls asleep?"
"Rui." Tsukasa stares at him, dead serious, "Are you for real?"
Rui looks at him with a straight face for a few seconds before bursting out laughing.
"You're horrible!" Tsukasa clicks his tongue.
"Sorry! Sorry—" Rui leans into his side, "As much as I think Nene would be great for the role that would leave you as a fairy and I still wanted to make you shine. I hope that's okay with you."
"Well," Tsukasa shrugs, "It's a shame Sleeping Beauty doesn't have as many lines but I trust you, my dear director." Tsukasa laughs.
"My faith lies with you, my star."
"Oh my," Emu's circling the bed where Tsukasa lays peacefully. "This girl…is the one I met in the forest."
Suddenly, Nene, one of the fairies, comes on stage, panting "Oh dear prince please rescue our princess! Our kingdom relies on her. Look!" She gestures to the drones and robots, playing the kingdom's people, slowly turning off. "They are all falling asleep one by one."
"Rescue…but how?" Emu asks confused, turning towards the audience, "Just what should I do?"
"She's been cursed by the wicked witch. If you really want to save her then—" she starts but is cut off by Rui, the wicked witch, walking on stage next.
"Ah so you're the one…" he laughs under his breath, checking out Emu mischievously.
"You! Stay away!" Nene shouts in Rui's direction.
Emu suddenly pulls out a sword and swings it around, "I—I don't know what to do but! Don't come near!" She stands in front of Tsukasa, "Don't come near the princess!"
Then the fight scene breaks out and after a while, Emu successfully defeats Rui.
"YOU! CURSE YOU, PRINCE!!!" Rui yells, gritting his teeth as he falls on his knees, using the trap room beneath the stage to leave dramatically.
Nene sighs, "Now that we've dealt with her please!" She takes Emu's hands in her own, "Save our princess!"
"But how?"
"The only thing that can save her is…" Nene hesitates for a few seconds in an attempt to build up the tension in the audience, "Is a kiss from a prince who truly loves the princess…"
Emu nods and rushes to the Sleeping Beauty's side, leaning closer and closer towards Tsukasa's face until—
"Cut!" Rui yells, as he climbs back upstage.
Tsukasa opens his eyes and sits up, rubbing his eyes. It's true that Rui joked about Nene falling asleep on stage but the same almost happened to him, just now. He'll have to be very careful on the day of the actual performance.
Emu's face paints a bright grin and she jumps up on the bed next to Tsukasa, "How was that Rui-kun?! Did I do a good job!?"
Rui smiles, "Of course! I couldn't have asked for a better prince."
"But um…"Tsukasa fidgets with his hands nervously, his face heating up before he even voiced his question, "What are we going to do with a kiss? I mean—yeah."
"Hmm…" A light blush paints Rui's cheeks, "Well I assumed Emu would just tilt her head so it looks like a real thing."
"That's okay with me." Emu coughs, her voice quieter than usual.
Despite Wonderlands x Showtime doing quite a few romance shows in the past, a real kiss on stage has never occured and nobody ever said anything about it. Rui would always just either cut them out completely or only imply them through his narrating.
It was a little embarrassing to admit, Tsukasa, a great actor like him, had never kissed anybody before. Never being in a relationship before, he never really got a chance. However if it was for the sake of the play, he wouldn't mind doing a kiss scene if it's with his troupemates. He wasn't about to admit that out loud though.
Nene is the first one to break the awkward silence, "Let's just do the last scene so we can go grab something to eat."
"Good idea!" Emu gets up quickly, surprising Tsukasa. The bed suddenly feels cold.
"Yeah." He agrees, in the end. "Let's do that."
"Guys!!!" Emu comes rushing towards the Wonder stage where her troupemates wait. Few bags are swinging off her arms as she runs, full force, the brightest grin painting her face.
"Our costumes!" She pants when she finally reaches them, "Our costumes arrived!"
"Woah!" Nene chuckles, more at Emu than the fact her dress is here, "Deep breathes Emu."
"I can't wait to see Tsukasa's dress! I hope it's super duper sparkly so Tsukasa-kun can shine like a real star!"
Tsukasa's face heats up at her comment, "Haha! I don't need a fancy dress to make me shine, for I am Tsukasa Te—"
"Woah! It's pretty!" He wants to scold Nene for interrupting his monologue but when he lifts his head he sees Rui pull out a long, sparkling, golden dress.
"WAHH!!!" Emu jumps up and down, clapping her hands out of excitement. "Tsukasa-kun!" She turns to him, her eyes sparkling, "Put it on! Please!"
"Hah?!" He blushes but can't help showing a small smile, "You're more excited about my dress than your own costume."
"It's because I've never seen you in a dress before!" She giggles, "I bet it'd look weow wowow whoa spark sparkly wonderhoy on you!"
"A star like me could pull off anything!" He winks at her which makes her giggle.
The exchange between the two makes Rui smile. "You two sure are energetic as always." He notes. "What about you Nene? What do you think about our lead's dress?"
She turns her head away but Tsukasa can see, from the corner of his eye, her entire face turn red. "Whatever…"
Emu's practically dragging Tsukasa into a changing room, unable to contain her excitement.
"Hey Emu!" He scowls, "Don't pull on me so hard."
"Hehe sorry Tsukasa-kun~" she replies apologetically and when she shoots him that cheeky but warm smile of hers he can't even say anything in return. Instead, he obediently follows in her step.
She shoves the dress into his hands and him into the changing room.
For a moment, he stands there a little uncertain. He's never worn a dress before and the thought of doing so makes him just a little bit anxious. However his friends are waiting so patiently and so he pushes those thoughts aside, because after all—stars like him don't get anxious over costumes!
He carefully takes off his clothes and slips on a golden dress, letting its long hemline fall on the floor.
It feels comfortable. Is his first thought. The material is a little tight but he doesn't particularly mind. He spins around and gets just a little surprised at how flowy it is. Just why didn't he try this out sooner?
"Tsukasa-kun~" he hears Emu whine from the other side, "Are you done yet?!"
"Calm down Emu," Nene sighs, "Give him a minute."
Slowly, Tsukasa opens the door of the changing room, revealing himself in his new attire. It feels a little weird but not in a bad way. He could get used to it.
"WOAH!" Emu gasps.
"Woah…" Nene follows.
Rui just turns red.
All three of them stare at Tsukasa, who despite loving attention and praise, can't help but feel a little shy while being perceived in this way.
"...So?" He quietly fidgets with his hands.
"You're beautiful." Rui's tongue slips before he gets a chance to process what he's thinking.
The two of them lock eyes for a second before, both look away, their faces turning tomato red.
"Tsukasa-kun looks so dazzling." Emu grins as she takes Tsukasa's hands in her own, swinging them left and right out of excitement.
"It…looks good on you." Nene replies quietly, hiding her face behind her hair.
Tsukasa's chest feels tight. It's confusing. Why does he feel like he'll explode into tiny little pieces? Why does he not mind exploding into tiny pieces if it means Emu, Rui and Nene get to pick him up themselves.
When his eyes land on Rui, whose eyes are still fixated on the floor, his face still tainted with red, Nene who won't even look him in the eyes and Emu who is looking at him like he is a precious gem, he can't help but feel fuzzy inside.
"Thanks guys…" Tsukasa lets go of Emu's hands, and rubs the back of his neck awkwardly. "How about we check your costumes next?"
"Whaaat??" Emu pouts, "But I wanted to stare at Tsukasa-kun a little longer!!!"
"Hey hey now!!" He rolls his eyes, "You'll watch me on the day of our show as much as your heart desires."
"Yay!" She throws her hands in the air and Tsukasa heads back into the changing room.
Rui and Emu are the first ones to head home after practice that day (Even though their practice turned into a fashion show), leaving Nene and Tsukasa to clean up the stage.
The two don't speak much but the silence is certainly not uncomfortable. Even though they bicker a lot, the two of them have a huge amount of respect for each other and their work.
It may be true that they didn't start on the right foot but they're young—they're growing.
Quietly, Nene begins to hum a song under her breath which makes Tsukasa melt into the tune. Her voice is quiet and tender. It's soft and warm, like a hug. If Tsukasa were asked to describe how he imagines angels' voices he'd give Nene and her singing as the number one example.
Suddenly he gets an overwhelming urge to just hug Nene, pull her closer as she sings into his ear, that magical melody. But he fights that urge and continues to clean, hiding his gaze from his fellow troupemate.
It takes him back on the first time they've met, the first time he heard her sing. He remembers the way she humbled him and his doubts so quickly—and oh he's glad she did. After all he can't imagine Wonderlands x Showtime without their stage diva. Their pride and joy.
He remembers, in the beginning, her voice was so beautiful, so calming but unfulfilled. Listening to her was wonderful, she was incredibly skilled and knew her worth but in the beginning it felt like there was something, some force holding her back—not showing her full potential.
That's why Tsukasa couldn't be happier to know that she's finally able to sing her heart out with no restraints.
It doesn't matter if she messes up a little, or hits the wrong note, which rarely happens, because all her songs come from the heart. She sings to let out her feelings and spice up the plays her and her friends put out, in a hopeful attempt to make everybody smile. She sings to reach their feelings and Tsukasa can vouch that his heart has, indeed, been touched by her songs.
They continue to clean the stage in the comfort of each other's presence. It doesn't get them long to get everything in its place, after all there's nothing two of them cannot do.
"Haha!" Tsukasa laughs proudly, "Great work Nene!"
"So loud…" she mutters under her breath and yet a small smile curls on her lips, "Great work."
"If everything's done we should definitely head home!"
"See you tomorrow." Nene puts the broom aside and they say their farewell.
"It seems the day of our performance has finally arrived." Rui announces, greeting his fellow troupe mates with a bright grin painting his face. He's already put on his costume, a lace black dress with long and wide sleeves—completely opposite of Tsukasa's shiny golden one.
It fascinated Tsukasa a little. When he found out he'll be playing the female lead, wearing a shiny dress, it took him by surprise but Rui seems pretty chill about wearing dresses.
Tsukasa's not sure what Rui's relationship with his gender is exactly and it feels way too silly to ask now because whatever his answer may be, it wouldn't change Tsukasa's opinion on him.
He is Rui Kamishiro, the director of Wonderlands x Showtime and his dear friend.
Truth to be told, Tsukasa doesn't know what his relationship with gender is either and he's scared that if he were to start questioning it now, he'd only end up more confused. He must admit, wearing his dress didn't feel uncomfortable at all! On the contrary—he enjoyed the five minutes he spent in it when trying it on and a part of him really looked forward to their play so he could wear it some more. Why was that? Well because it made him look like a star of course! That's what he tries to tell himself at least.
Tsukasa didn't mind being a guy, he thinks he wouldn't mind being born a girl either. Stars don't have assigned gender, don't have to care about social gender roles and stereotypes, they just shine brightly so why should he be any different? Why should he care what other people say of him?
He didn't think much about it before. He didn't think about wearing feminine things or growing out his hair but that's because he never tried doing it in the first place.
And hey, maybe it was fear. Maybe it is fear. Maybe he's scared that he'll like it too much. What if he ends up liking dresses and skirts a little too much?
See, if it was Rui who came to rehearsal wearing a dress, Tsukasa wouldn't mind. He wouldn't mind because if that's what makes Rui happy then he'll do his best to support him and his way of expression. But himself? Why is it so hard to apply that same logic to himself…
He's pulled out of his train of thought when Rui gently tugs on his sleeve, gesturing for him to get changed.
"Ah!" He shakes his head and rushes into the changing room. Trying not to think too much about his clothes, he slips into his costume and walks outside where once again—despite already seeing him in this sparkly dress, his friends can't take their eyes off of him.
"I'm," Nene speaks up first, "I'm gonna go get changed next!" And rushes into the changing room with Emu following soon after, leaving Rui and Tsukasa alone.
"Fufu~" Rui laughs, releasing the pent up tension in his shoulders. Then he lifts his face up, locking eyes with Tsukasa who, taken aback by that golden shine, turns bright pink, "Let's do our best, Tsukasa-kun." His voice is endearing.
"Right!" Tsukasa smiles at him, with the same warmth. "Let's do our best, Rui."
Neither of them realize just how awfully close they've gotten to each other, their faces only millimeters apart. They stay like that in comfortable silence as Rui gently rests his forehead against Tsukasa's who doesn't pull away.
He knows he probably should. He knows regular friends probably don't share intimate moments like these, especially not minutes before a show stars. They should be professional. They should be an actor and a director but all Tsukasa wants is to just stay like this for a while longer, in Rui's touch.
Suddenly a gentle warmth meets the corner of Tsukasa's lips. But the warmth disappears as soon as it comes because Rui pulls away immediately, as if nothing happened.
"Good luck, Tsukasa." And then he's gone behind the curtain.
"Ugh, seriously?" Nene groans, only moments before the curtain rises.
Tsukasa side eyes her curiously, still unable to brush off the feeling of Rui's lips pressed at the corner of his.
She simply shakes her head and approaches him quietly. "Turn around." She demands.
Confused, Tsukasa turns around when suddenly he feels her hands on his back and zip~
"I can't believe you almost went on stage with your zipper open," she clicks her tongue, "And I'm supposed to believe you're the world's future star."
"H-HEY!!!" Tsukasa argues. "I—" but he can't manage to mutter a word because his face is all heated up. How did he forget the zipper?
"Thank you…" he whispers under his breath, only loud enough for Nene to hear, his tone of voice completely different than his usual yelling. It shocks Nene a little but she doesn't really mind. She likes peace and quiet.
"Of course." She says.
'Always.' Remains unsaid but both of them know they'll always have each other's back. They are walking on the same path towards stardom after all, they have to look after each other.
Suddenly the same warmth he felt when Rui's lips brushed his face is back and it's Nene's turn to plant a soft kiss on his cheek.
When she pulls away, Tsukasa's staring at her wide-eyed and shocked. He traces the spot on his cheek where her lips met his face and stares at her in surprise.
She, however, doesn't meet his gaze. Her eyes are fixated on the floor but he can see her face get all read.
"Good luck…" she mumbles and the curtain begins to rise.
Tsukasa is uneasy, to say at least. The show has begun and a huge number of people showed up, as expected. Yet, he just can't fully concentrate on the task at hand.
He didn't mess up his lines by any means, after all what kind of star would he be if he couldn't properly deliver the lines he was assigned, but his mind was racing at full speed. He just prayed it wasn't showing on his face.
The scene with Sleeping Beauty in the woods comes up, as well as his first meeting with the prince.
He spins in his dress, basking in the sunlight that makes him shine so bright, he hears somebody in the crowd gasp—or did it come from backstage? He wasn't sure but it's not like he can think too much about it.
Pushing every thought aside he continued to perform and it was just so fun. The dress was flowy and it made him light as a feather, if it wasn't for his steady legs keeping him on the ground, he'd fly off.
It's challenging at first. Having to perform a role so unfamiliar, so different from his usual ones, in front of a hundred people watching. He wonders what they think about a masculine person playing Sleeping Beauty, a princess.
He wonders if they think it's weird, especially considering the fact there is also a girl playing the prince. Maybe they're wondering why they didn't genderswap the roles or why they didn't choose a different play.
It's a heavy topic but Tsukasa decides, stage is not the right place, and his solo moment is not the time to be thinking about such things.
So he continues to let his legs guide him, enjoying himself while he can because he doesn't know when the next time he'll allow himself to experience this freedom will arrive. When will he be brave enough?
He enjoys the freedom, the elegance and the happiness he feels when the wind slowly picks up his bangs, removing them out of his eyes.
He sees the audience a bit clearer now and is shocked when he doesn't see even a glimpse of judgment in their faces. Instead, their gaze is hyper fixated on him as he moves through the air. Kids are smiling widely and whispering to their parents, stars shining brightly in their eyes.
A heavy stone falls off of Tsukasa's heart.
Then, the scene where Sleeping Beauty poisons herself by pricking her finger onto the spindle of the spinning wheel, comes up.
Quietly, he falls on the bed and shuts his eyes tight as Emu and the others make their way to the stage for their part of the performance.
Tsukasa's lips look so soft. Emu notes, watching him play dead in front of hundred people. She's defeated Rui, the evil witch, and is approaching her princess who looks so peaceful as she sleeps, waiting for her prince to wake her up with a kiss.
Emu comes closer, shortening the distance between the two of them. Her head is tilted in an angle where you can't quite see the actors clearly. It was Rui's strategy to make the audience believe the kiss happened without them actually having to act it out.
But Emu just can't resist. When she sees Tsukasa in such an eternal state, right after taking her breath away with his powerful performance she moves on impulse.
Taking both of them by surprise, she presses her lips against his, slowly, only brushing them together, before pulling away.
At that moment Tsukasa's eyes widen a little too dramatically and a little too quickly but in his defense he didn't expect Emu to actually kiss him after countless fake kiss rehearsals. For a brief second they stare at each other and he looks at her, his expression painted with shock but she looks away and carries on with her performance.
But the feeling of her lips against his is still carved into his memory and he feels like he's going to overheat.
Somehow he manages to get up from the bed and carry on with the play but something about Emu's gentle lips brushing against his is just not letting him think properly.
First Rui and his weird but certainly not uncomfortable moment of intimacy. Then Nene and her odd but very much appreciated way of showing good luck. And now Emu and her sudden but gentle kiss on stage.
He doesn't know how to feel but he knows he doesn't hate it. He doesn't hate the way Rui's forehead against his felt so mellow or the way Nene's little signs of appreciation and care made him feel lucky to have her or the way Emu's unexpected kiss didn't feel bad.
He's not sure what's running in any of their minds, he never does, but he pushes it all away and carries on with the performance.
Taking Emu's hand in his own, he establishes eye contact with and shoots her a reassuring smile. Emu being Emu grins back with beaming enthusiasm and for a moment it's only two of them on the Wonder stage.
They forget about their audience, they forget about their roles—about Sleeping Beauty and the prince. This moment that makes them both fuzzy, as they dance in each other's arms is between Emu and Tsukasa.
The more he holds her the more he doesn't want to let go.
Despite rehearsing this scene times and times before it's different now—he figures the kiss definitely had something to do with that.
As they dance, melting into each other's touch, he notices Rui and Nene watching from behind the curtain, hidden from the audience's view.
His gaze meets theirs and he smiles in their direction, pretending they are on the stage with him and Emu.
Oh how perfect it would be if he could dance with them all…
His treasure, his sun, his moon and his sky.
All the people most important to him, all the people who helped him get to this point. These people who are climbing this rocky road towards stardom alongside him, each one of them trying to pursue their own dreams.
He knows one day the four of them will have to choose different paths—and it pains him. It pains him that one day he might be hours away from the people he cherishes so much.
Because the only path Tsukasa wants to take is the one on which they can walk together.
But he'll move forward. Even if they do end up splitting he will forever carry the memory of Wonderlands x Showtime, his precious troupe in his heart as he conquers every path and each challenge that lies ahead of him.
But for now he'll enjoy the moment. Now, he'll snap back into reality and finish the last scene with his beloved prince after which Nene and Rui will come back on stage. Then they'll intertwine their hands and he'll squeeze onto them tightly, hoping he gets to hold them for just a while longer.
And then he'll let go.
The audience will slowly start to leave and Tsukasa will turn around, feeling a little empty but also strangely comforted. Then he'll look back one last time, smile to himself and make his way backstage where his treasure patiently waits for him.
