Chapter Text

"Wakey wakey! Eggs and bakey!" Slowly gaining sense of your surroundings, the first thing you see is a familiar bird. "How are ya feelin, Robin?" He asks as you slowly tilt your head towards Joseph, feeling stiffer than before. "Hotter than a desert." Joseph chuckles, puts a straw in one of the bottles, and places it next to you. "I managed to get some from Bartholomew, anycase you were feeling a bit thirsty." Leaning in closer, you hold onto the straw with your teeth. The cold and refreshing beverage goes down, hydrating your throat. "Thank you kindly," Joseph says with a warm smile. "The pleasure is mine."

He plucks the straw from the empty bottle, and places it into the other glass. "Ah met up with the doc yesterday." Joseph says, He plucks the straw from the empty bottle, and places it into the other glass. "Really,What did he say?"You lean in closer at the mention of the word “doc”. "Yah can now take baths, instead of the towel kind from before." Joseph replies. Your ears perk up in excitement, all those years spent on the trail— it was difficult finding a way to remove all that grime. Even during your days in Curly Wolf’s gang, by the time you made it to the front of the line. The water would be darker than your fur"Anything else?"

Joseph shakes his head and says, "Overall, everything is going well!" You sigh with relief as you lean back into your pillow. "Speakin' of baths," Joseph quickly glances up in the air, and then back to you, "Are ya ready for ya first bath post-op?" "Hell yes" you say, grinning from ear to ear. Joseph lends out his feathered hand towards you and pulls you up from your bed with precision. "That’s it. Easy steps." With Joseph by your side, you slowly make it to the bathroom. The sound of running water enters your ears as Joseph unwraps your bandages. As he undresses you, a mirror catches your eye. There, for the first time, you see your chest. Now sporting two scars. Although they are still new, they will heal. Fading in color as time passes by.
