Keyleth's eyes slowly opened as consciousness returned to her. The first thing she see's is the moon lit sleeping face of her beloved boyfriend Vax, he always seems so calm and peaceful when he's asleep, then she finally notices the calm music they must have had played a bit ago is still going on softly. She lets out a small sigh at this point annoyingly fully awake, turning around in her bed to check her clock to see it's only two in the morning.
A soundless exhale leaves her as she sits up, letting the bed sheets gently slide down her front and onto her lap. She stiffens slightly at the change of temperature on her naked skin before relaxing, flushing slightly remembering what they did only a couple hours before. With a deep breath in she closes her eyes, slowly letting the breath go and opening her eyes to look around her room. The music softly playing from her computer, papers and books in piles on her desk, her old Minxie plush on her old worn desk chair, the scattered plants all sorts and in different stages of growth, tapestries of plants, animals, and landscapes as well as pictures of her and her friends hanging upon her wall, her and Vax's cloths haphazardly on the floor, and her slightly open window the sound of passing cars an the pitter-patter of rain adding to the calming white-noise and allowing the pale moonlight to blanket the entire room making it feel and look ethereal.
Keyleth finds herself staring out her window just letting her mind wonder over the past few weeks, everyone has been so busy with college herself included but it seemed like things had finally started to lighten up for everyone. She smiles with a soft laugh at the memory of Scanlan suggesting they should go to one of the sleaziest bars in town only to end up getting hit on the back of the head by Pike, with a fond smile, causing him to instead suggest a normal bar crawl or to go to his home for drinks and a movie, everyone agreed and Keyleth just hopes none of her professors decide to sneak in a surprise essay or project like they've done the last time the group had time to hang out. She hates to admit it but she really needed this break, the past weeks had very much tested her patience and stress levels. She remembers once practically almost giving poor Vax a heart attack she basically fainted on him due to exhaustion and stress, he almost even called Pike to check on her, till she woke up in a tired jolt in his arms assuring him she was fine just tired but it still took her and Vex to make him finally focus on his school work instead of constantly hovering over her.
She's left to her own thoughts for a long while, just watching the trails the rain makes on her window sometimes with the added distraction of the cars bellow stopping at a light. It felt good to just sit and breath but at the same time it let her over think things. Her mind coming up with thousands of what ifs and what nots, try as she might she's never been too good at relieving herself of these stressing thoughts.
Suddenly she felt shuffling on the bed, turning her head to see Vax lifting himself up partially with an arm on the bed tiredly looking up at her.
"What are you doing up." He says his voice low and gravely from sleep causing a slight shiver and flush to emerge from Keyleth.
"Just thinking or well I guess more so hoping my professors don't decide to surprise me again. I've missed our time together." She says softly, taking hand and cupping a side of his face brushing her thumb along his cheek. He puts his hand over the one on his face with an affectionate an adoring smile, turning his face to lightly place a loving soft kiss to her palm then turning back to face her. He maneuvers himself into a sitting position, letting Keyleths hand fall back to her side and for his own sheets to cascade onto his lap. Vax takes a slow deep breath an slowly lets it go helping himself wake up just a little bit, closing his eyes just to enjoy the sounds around him, the rain, cars passing by, soft music, and Keyleths breathing.
With a smile he opens his eyes again to look towards Keyleth, he reaches to her snaking his arms around her waist and pulling her to him, a squeak escaping her from her sudden relocation to his lap. He lets out a sleep rattled chuckle and nuzzles into her neck. "I doubt they will and if they do I can stay here with you, it's not like Vex will miss me at home considering she practically lives at Freddy's at this point."
Keyleths chest flares with fiery butterflies and adoration for this man, turning slightly she takes Vaxs head in her hands even though the angle is a bit awkward, kisses him. Vax smiles into the kiss rearranging Keyleth to where she's still in his lap but facing him, putting one hand on the small of her back and stroking her hair with the other. When they separate from the kiss, wrapping their arms around each other and foreheads pressed onto the others.
They remain silent for a time just looking into each others eyes, till Keyleth says just in a whisper as if it'd break this fragile other worldly feeling if she was any louder. "I love you, Vax."
He just smiles a light flush gracing his cheeks, his hands moving to her waist, thumbs rubbing at her sides in a comforting manor. "I Love you too, Kiki." For a couple moments longer they just sit there staring at each other, eventually though Vax's calm presence and rhythmic motions start to lull her to sleep. Seeing her eyelids droop and her struggle to stay awake, Vax just smiles and slowly gets to work on rearranging them and their bedsheets till they are both laying down her on top of Vax head resting on his chest and the sheets pulled up to cover their bodies.
"Goodnight, Kiki" He says with a kiss to her head, getting a sleepy muffled "Goodnight." in return.
