Though Casita tries her best to protect Mirabel as she crumbles and breaks apart, the girl still ends up loosing her balance. The roof shingles try to get her as far as they can, but Mirabel still feels the way her head ends up hitting the very edge before she plummets down to the courtyard far too quickly to stop herself from hitting the floor with a rather painful thump.
Her head once again collides with the furniture that races its way over to protect her from the raining debris that once was tio Bruno's tower. The only reaction she gives to the fiery pain she feels at the back and now the top of her head is a quiet groan as she pitches forwards slightly, her vision is blurry dispite the fact that she managed to keep her glasses on in all the chaos and her head swims in a way that makes her nauseous.
Yet she still shakes her head when her Mama comes to see if she's injured. She can't worry the familia now, not after what's just happened. Instead she waits for her vision to settle and once she's managed to get to her feet without falling over or attracting any attention to herself, she stumbled across what was left of Casita and as far as she could manage before her legs finally gave out.
She doesn't remember much of her journey, only that she gets tangled in bushes and ends up crawling when her strength gives out a few more times. But eventually she finds herself beside a river just outside of the Encanto. She has no idea how long she's been there, nor does she know when someone else stumbles upon her, but the sound of their gasp is more than enough to rouse her from the slowly oncoming unconsciousness that she could feel coming over her.
Her eyes open just enough to see her Abuela looking horrified, before she comes to kneel beside her "Mirabel? Mi Mariposa, can you open your eyes for me?" She asks, her voice shaking with anxiety as she carefully moves some hair from her nieta's face. It's painful and it takes far longer than either would like, but she manages to open her bleary eyes a little wider "that's it, well done Querida" she says softly, her shaky hands coming to rest on Mirabel's shoulder in hopes of comforting the injured girl.
Mirabel can't help but blink up at her in confusion, but Abuela merely smiles a soft but sad looking smile back at her as she carefully lifts Mira up into what she hopes is a little more comfortable position against her chest and shoulder "I should never have blamed you, never" she whispers, watching mirabel's slow blink of suprise, which only makes her feel worse as her nieta had almost killed herself trying to protect a candle just to make her Abuela proud.
How had she made such a bright and beautiful girl doubt herself so much she's suprised that she wasn't to blame for what happend? Alma smiles sadly again and wraps her arms ever so slightly tighter around Mirabel, both to starve off her tears and try to offer some sort of comfort to her nieta "I'll tell you the proper story when your up to it, you deserve that much. You all do" she feels Mirabel weakly Squeeze her hand at that and looks down to see her smile slightly.
Before she can even begin to figure out what she was trying to communicate, the sound of a galloping horse can be heard "I gave her a vision!" A familiar voice yells out before he's even stopped moving "it wasn't her fault- Mirabel!" With in seconds, she not only has a lap full of Mirabel, but a worried Bruno as well! She watches on in complete and utter bewilderment as her son, who's been missing for 10 years, becomes the dotting uncle he used to be as he helps Mirabel to sit up so he can check her over.
Mirabel's eyes light up slightly, though her blinks appear to be growing longer than before "mierda! Mama she has a concussion, a pretty nasty one too by the way that bump feels" he says, looking at her for the first time since he'd appeared "i don't care what you think of me, don't blame-" for the second time in as many minutes, Bruno is cut off when Alma reaches forwards and pulls him as close as she can so she can kiss both of his cheeks "lets get her home Brunito" she says softly, smiling fondly as the three of them make their way back to the horse her hijo had appeared on and back to their familia, where Mirabel is immediately scooped up by her mama and taken care of as best as they can for several days after.
