Vanessa touches Lulli and Lulli's mind is filled with Vanessa's thoughts. Vanessa likes her? As more than a friend? That is certainly a surprise but it's not unwelcome.
"You heard that," Vanessa says.
Lulli nods. Vanessa apologizes.
"Don't be sorry," Lulli says. "I like listening to you. I like you. "
That makes Vanessa smile. Lulli smiles at her, too. Vanessa touches Lulli's cheek. I want to kiss you, she hears.
"I want to kiss you, too," she responds.
She kisses Vanessa. All of Vanessa's thoughts are joyful and full of love. The whole mind-reading business is a gift after all.
