Work Text:
Reki was on his way home from a very rough evening of classes, and would just like to make dinner and go to bed. But no, he had tons of homework from his calculus 2 class and if he didn’t do it tonight, he never would. He shows the bus driver his pass and goes to find that there’s no seats at all. Wonderful. He takes a long sigh and goes to the side and reminds himself that he has 2 stops before his own and he can skate to the apartment complex from there. He holds the grab handle with his left hand and begins to scroll on Pinterest for new skateboard ideas to use for his woodworking 3 class. The 2 stops go by fast while he scrolls on Pinterest, and he leaves at the 3rd stop. He skates his way down the street, looking a bit weird for a 23 year old man who was in black mask, tank top and joggers who looked like Joe before he and Kaoru settled down and got married.
‘Hmm, maybe I should ask Langa about dating advice for after I get my bachelors, then again I can’t use his own advice on him.’
“I’m home!” Reki yelled as he took off his mask and took off his tank top, hot from skating here in the middle of June. “You took out the chicken, right? I’m gonna start dinner now so I can do my homework early and hopefully go to bed with you, because I haven’t slept in the last 34 hours and I can’t live off Red Bull forever.” Langa stared at Reki for a moment, then looked to the sink, then back to Reki.
“…no. But, we can just go out instead.”
“I guess,” Reki said with a sigh, looking in the fridge for water; or Red Bull, we’ll never know. “But, you’re paying because you forgot the chicken. I’ll go get change, you should too, hello kitty boy.” He said the last bit with a smirk, reason being, Langa was in his hello kitty jammie’s that Reki got him one Christmas as a gag gift but he ended up liking them because they were comfortable.
“You know, you shouldn’t be drinking so many of those Red Bulls. I’ll get ready with you in a moment, I just need to write a bit more to my essay.” Reki shrugged and put the Red Bull down/water, and grabbed water, chugging it down in a matter of moments before heading to Langa and his room. He takes off his joggers and throws on a long band tee before flopping on their shared bed and closing his eyes and using his last strength to get his whole body in and take a small nap.
‘Langa takes like an hour to finish essays so I have a bit of time to nap, it’s only like 2 anyways.’ And soon sleep washes over him.
…
“Reki, as much as I like you taking care of yourself, I would also like to go eat some food.” Langa nudged a sleeping Reki, who was sprawled out on the shared mattress. Reki woke up with a groggy hi and rubbed his eye, then yawned.
“Hi Langa, ‘m up don’ worry.”
“You look half asleep to me, but if you insist. Go change, it’s almost 5.”
“‘Mkay,” he yawns again before correcting his shirt. (much to Langa’s disappointment, though he didn’t show it.) He glanced over to Langa, who was now wearing a nice pair of white jeans and blue tie dye shirt with white sleeves under. “You look so nice like that, you need to do it more often, pretty boy.” He got out of the bed and dug through the closet, smirking because it was funny to watch Langa stutter and fumble, burning hot red.
“S-shut up! You’re the pretty boy here. You're fit, you’re smart, and most importantly, pretty!” Langa said, still burning hot red. Reki only laughed and started changing in-front of Langa making him slam the door and leave in defeat. Reki changed into fishnets, ripped jeans, and a black shirt with a sunflower graphic on the front with a striped undershirt because summer nights in Utah are chilly, even in the summer. He left the room to go find random chaotic accessories to add because it would annoy the living hell out of Langa when he had this nice neat outfit only to be ruined by the most random shit he could find.
“I took the accessory bowl, you have to come to me if you want any.”
“But that’s boringgg.” Reki groaned as he put his head in the back nook of langas neck.
“You feel like Red Robin’s? Because I sure do.”
“You always feel like burgers, but sure it sounds good.”
“Race you to the bus stop?”
“Oh you’re on!”
