Work Text:
Verde was a little surprised. In the time he had interacted with the mafia, the assassination attempts he had faced were not few, however, this one had really offended him by how blatant the perpetrators were.
Behind him, the plane was on fire, the passengers who could had already run away in terror (Vindice would have a field day with this incident).
But what caught his attention was the man running beside him.
"What's your problem!" shouted Verde, wanting to shake the other party for his behavior.
Meanwhile, Skull who hadn't stopped laughing since the explosion, was already shedding tears from the laughter.
"I'm having a breakdown!" he replied still laughing and almost stumbling.
"That's a very inappropriate response to stress!"
"I know!"
"..."
Verde grabbed the collar of the specialist's jacket and dragged him in the right direction they should be escaping to. When they reached the safe spot, the scientist sighed. Skull was still laughing.
He hesitated for a moment before speaking "I'll get you some tea."
He ignored when Skull gave a thumbs up from his reclining position on the couch and walked toward the pantry. He deliberately was slow in making the drink because he didn't know what to say when he got back. He was out of the field. Verde was a physicist, chemist, engineer, and almost every branch of science. But he was not a therapist.
And as he regretted his initiative to start a conversation, he wondered if it would be appropriate to offer drugs instead.
