Glaciers Melting in The Dead of Night (You Set my Soul Alight)

Summary:

Kenny changed... a lot.

The teenage boy that was obsessed with girls and sex turned into a tattoo-loving tattoo artist with nothing but the want to bend his new consultant over his table and have his way with him.

And he might just.

Chapter 1: Split Down the Middle

Chapter Text

Kenny grew up to be everything that everyone didn’t think he would turn into. He was a bike-riding, littered with tattoos, pierced bad boy. When he finally grew into himself and left his hell of a household, he really blossomed. The end of high school was only his start. He lived in a small apartment with his sister right outside of South Park, working at some tattoo shop to make ends meet. He enjoyed his life and wasn’t broke anymore. That was the most important part. He still kept in contact with his friends, and even a few people from school, but the only person he didn’t talk to but wanted to so badly, was Butters.  Sweet little Butters who still walked around with a hello kitty clip in his hair and escaped his family as well. By the time Kenny had left, Butters was gone and without a phone. His family had taken it because they paid for it and bought it, so they thought they were entitled to keep it. It was a tactic to drag him back. But he didn’t go back. Thankfully.

Clyde slapped Kenny on the back hard, making the blonde glare at him and hiss in detest, “Great job today, Kenny. You’re nearly done for the day, but you have a consultation with someone else. Virgin,” he winked at the word while Kenny merely rolled his eyes. Clyde was a pervert. Straight to the bone perverted. Always has been and always will be. Still, though, despite his coworkers’ weird attitude, he was proud he was able to break someone’s routine and help them get a tattoo. That was his favorite thing to do.

“Hey, Ken,” a sweet, familiar southern voice spoke up. The hairs on the back of the tattoo artist’s neck stood up and his eyes widened. He stood immediately, hugging the sweet blonde man with a soft and tender laugh. “Leo,” Kenny said in relief. Their hug lasted a little longer than it should’ve, the both of them pulling away at the same time. Butters had a gentle blush on the apples of his cheeks and a soft smile. His eye, the one that wasn’t hit by his ninja star, was just as icy as Kenny remembered, the lightest and most beautiful blue. It wasn’t the ocean, it was the ice in the Arctic, it was Starks pond frozen in the dead of winter. It was utterly cold. The other eye was wide and scarred, blind and white. How Butters was even able to use it still was a mystery. Kenny still felt horrible for hitting him in the eye all those years ago. “I haven’t seen you in ages.” Six years exactly.

“Gee, I know,” Butters scratched at the back of his neck, his hello kitty barrette bobbing up and down with his movement. Kenny watched it closely. “I missed you, Ken. I never got your number an-and I heard you were back.” Kenny let a large grin spread out on his face and he sat down on his chair.

“I’ll gladly give you my number after we do this appointment. I didn’t expect you to walk in here, especially with that mustache. What tattoo were you looking to get? Tell me everything.” It was a 70s porn stache that was well maintained and not too unruly or thick. Somehow, it looked good on him with the rest of his face void of any other facial hair. It was just as blonde as his hair. Butters smiled slightly, looking to the side, “Well, uh, I was looking to get something on my thigh right above my knee. Maybe a hello kitty?” Kenny broke out into another smile, laughing. Of course, he would get a Hello Kitty tattoo as his first ink. “God, that’s fucking perfect, Leo. We actually have a few designs from other artists and myself here if you wanted to look at any and make a reference point.” Butters nodded eagerly, leaning over whilst Kenny flipped through the book he had. The book was organized neatly in alphabetical order. There were numerous designs for the girl-ish character— Hello Kitty’s face in black and white with a bright yellow bow, Hello Kitty as an angel in black and white, and others that didn’t catch his eye. He flipped the pages, gnawing at his bottom lip before gasping loudly and squealing, pointing at a colorful picture of the character's face in even more colorful butterfly wings surrounded with sparkles. Butters’ eyes shined when he looked at it. the look was utter perfection. Butters was still beautiful even 'til this day.

“I want that,” he said breathlessly, “B-But I want different colors… can we do that, Ken?” Their eyes met and Kenny gulped, nodding. He wheeled over to his iPad which was connected to the large TV screen hanging on the wall. It was better to have an ulterior screen than have people lean over his shoulders. It made him anxious. Butters watched as he sketched the tattoo.

“More cartoony,” he said, so Kenny made it more cartoony. Butters hummed looking at the design. There was something missing.

“I think she would l-look good with more sparkles and an intricate design on the wi-wings… please?” Kenny chuckled and nodded, following his orders. Only after a few changes— more sparkles, rainbow outline, brighter colors, Butters was comfortable with the design. Kenny usually didn’t do cutesy designs for people, especially like that, but for Butters, he would do anything.

“O-Oh, Ken, that’s perfect, I love it!”

“I’m glad Butters, but the next step is the actual tattoo. Are you afraid of needles?” Butters shook his head but chewed on his bottom lip. “Okay, good. Would you want to do it this week or some other time?” The blonde boy thought for a moment, pulling up his calendar3 on his phone, “Are there any times for tomorrow available?” Kenny checked his calender, humming as he waited for things to load. “I have a spot open tomorrow at 11:30 in the afternoon. Is that good for you?” Their eyes met and Butters blushed, getting up on shaky legs. His knees were weak being around his old friend. He couldn't help it!

“That sounds perfect!”

Kenny stood as well, reaching to hug his old friend again. His eyes closed as he squeezed Butters, his voice quiet and deep as he spoke into his ear, “Let me get your number so I can message you. You don’t even know how much I’ve missed you.” It was true. After they lost contact Kenny felt something deep in his heart that was something akin to sorrow. Butters was pure sunshine on a cloudy day. He was the May flowers from April showers. He was everything that Kenny wasn’t. Fuck.

Butters pulled back and nodded eagerly, the two of them handing each other their phones to put their numbers in. Kenny put his name in as Ken with a heart and Butters out his name in as Leo with a butter emoji, giggling to himself like a schoolgirl.  Kenny stuck his tongue out at the man playfully, the blonde man freezing. Oh yeah.

“You like ‘em?” Kenny said playfully, wiggling his split tongue. Butters’ eyes widened even more and he looked around awkwardly. “Th-They’re um… two tongues?”

“Yup,” he popped the ‘p’. “Both have feeling and both have movement.”

“Ain’t they painful?” Kenny shook his head with a wave of his hand. It hurt at first but now it was just fun. Especially in the bedroom. “Nah, they’re fun in the bedroom. Wanna try?” Butters’ eyes widened again and he began to splutter pathetically, looking around in a panic as if he had seen a ghost. The wink that Kenny gave him made him gulp, a hunger that he hasn't felt in a long time resurfacing. “I’m joking Leo, don't worry. I’ll see you tomorrow.” The Hello Kitty-obsessed man merely nodded and left with a wave of his hand. When Butters was out of the tattoo shop he covered his face in embarrassment, letting out a shaky breath as he willed his hard-on to go down. He stumbled to his car and let the AC hit him in the face, his music soft as he waited anxiously for his elevated feelings to simmer. Kenny shut down his room in the tattoo shop and left, entering his own car and running a hand over his face. He totally didn't want to admit that he had a million images running through his head about Butters being bent over his tattoo table with Kenny's tongues inside of him.
