Work Text:
Gigil- the irresistible urge to squeeze someone because you love them.
A cool breeze of wind urges me to cuddle closer into the person beside me. She silently reads a book while I carefully count the stars in the sky.
Sirius, the brightest star. Izumi is the Sirius of my life. I feel her warm fingers gently trace the scars on my cheek.
I hear her put the book she was reading down on the table beside her. Damn this woman, she's even gentle with books.
There's a comfortable silence before another cold breeze brushes against us. I shiver slightly, making the older woman hold me closer to her warm body.
"Wanna go inside?" She whispers to me, kissing the crown of my head. I shake my head in response, earning a small laugh from the woman holding me.
"Aren't you cold, my love?" She questions, amused. I somehow found a way to cuddle closer to her.
"But you're warm." I say after yet another shiver.
"If you say so dear." Izumi concludes, resting her chin on the top of my head.
I suddenly feel the urge to gently squeeze her. Gigil, I recall. That's the word. I remember her telling me about it after she learned it from one of the many books she's read.
The urge is irresistible, but what if she doesn't like it? What if she thinks I'm weird?
Guess the only way to find out is to do it. And so I squeeze. I can feel myself hold my breath, impatiently waiting for her response.
After a moment she squeezes me back. She loves me! I feel a small smile creep onto my face.
She loves me, and I love her too.
