Pluviophile- a lover of rain
Kya is a lover of rain. I watch as she turns on the radio searching for the weather station to see if it'll rain at all this week.
The words barely come out of the reporter's mouth before I hear a loud cheer from behind me.
I turn around to find her smiling brightly towards the closed window. She turns to look at me excitedly, "Lin! It's gonna rain later!" The older woman exclaims cheerfully.
I let out a soft chuckle making her smile even brighter.
After a few hours of doing chores around the house I notice a few wet spots on the dirt outside. Looking up I can spot a few dark clouds moving towards me. "Oh she's gonna love this" I say to myself silently.
I call out her name before the sound of soft footsteps fills my ears. Once she's down the stairs her blue eyes look at me with curiosity. I nod my head towards the window signaling for her to look out of it.
The corners of her mouth begin to creep up while she makes her way to the window. I watch as she speed walks to the door while taking her hair out of its restraints.
Her long white locks fall gently down her back and swings as she opens the door before stepping out.
It's pouring now. She has helped me get over my fear of rain since the Amon situation. I, however, could never be a pluviophile like her but maybe I should give it a try.
I take off my shoes and step towards the door. I let out a few deep breaths before finally opening the door and stepping outside.
Kya stops her movements watching as I slowly make my way towards her. I didn't think it was possible for her smile to be brighter but it was.
She holds her hand out to me and I take it graciously, feeling the warm water droplets cover my frame.
A sense of pride comes over me. She's proud of me, and I'm proud of me too.
I'll do anything for her to be happy and if it's becoming a lover of rain then I'll do just that.
