Chapter Text
Headcanon: Bruce has trained all the Bat Family and affiliates, but the most important lesson was that the most feared predators are persistent hunters.
Bruce learned from many masters and through experience, but the lesson really took root after watching some scholchy horror movies with his roommates in school. The fast moving monsters were freaky but a net or other trap, and the heroes would have been saved. The slow hordes were annoying but barricading and destroying them would deal with the mess. But the ones that don't stop, the calls from inside, the ones that appear from the shadows… Well, those haunted his teenage nightmares.
All the family was good at planning and toying with their prey.
Nightwing could play at being everywhere and unfazed by anything as he laughed as he haunted his targets. He knew so many shortcuts and was just so quick when flying around on the wires. He also made friends so easy, no one believed it when he put people in the hospital. It was unnerving to see the grin and know of what violence was behind that pretty face. The worst was he was still the nice one.
Red Hood had plans within plans. He had failsafes and redundancies and backups. He tracked not only his enemies but his own people obsessively. If something went wrong it was only due to him not talking to the rest of his family. He often made his people believe he was psychic or something because he just knew when things were happening and how. Yeah he was big, angry, and still lethal, but really the danger was he was the real planner of the bats. He knew your next steps before you did.
Black Bat/Orphan had melting into and out of the shadows down to an art. She didn't arrive at the scene so much as appear like a phantom. She moved like a whisp and her hits were always so painful. She had a habit of letting her prey run and trailing them home. The younger goons called her a ninja demon and they argued over which hidden village she would be from.
Red Robin specialized in eroding away safety nets and pulling away threads like he saw each opponent as a game of kerplunk or jenga. Have social media?
