He appeared.
Just came to his sight, became visible. Days, months, a year passed.
Goh can never say he sees Ash as a constant presence in his life, no matter how much he is currently.
Brown eyes, dark hair, stupid smile and an inexhaustible determination, Ketchum is too bright for anyone to keep.
To be sure, keeping the trainer is such a mistake. Ash is made for the world, as much as Goh's life is to catch all the pokemons.
They have different goals, but at some point, he is unable to see how he can find a path without him.
It is a worrisome thought. It is visible how much he has come to depend on him. Of how he wants to hear his voice, to return the hugs.
Listening to his best friend talking about all his adventures and the friends he made along the way, made him understand he will be one of those people in the future.
"Thank you for everything, Goh." What was that feeling? Was it a kind of mourning? His fertile imagination produced that scene too many times, but the two roads that will soon separate them never became so visible. And even the limping sun doesn't take away the sadness. That was it. That was the end.
He could not answer. Ocean orbits holding a waterfall, a tearful Grookey in his shoulder crying his life out. Pikachu seemed to also have his own share.
"Hey!" His voice rumbled the vocal cords. The back he knows so well, drifting away, made Goh let out a shrill, anxious and scared scream.
"Let's keep in touch!"
Ash took the offer, as the huge, vivacious smile signaled.
"Yes! Let's call every day! And we should go out!"
They will.
They will.
