The fireworks.
He pushed the thoughts out of his head. He was past that. He was. It didn’t matter anymore. It had hurt at the moment, but then it stopped. Yes, he had lost a life, but that wasn’t worth harping over.
As Tommy had unintentionally taught him, if he was stuck up on what had happened--on the war that he had been thrown into at only 14, at the fireworks that had destroyed his face, at the numerous adults that had let him down and continued to let him down--then he would be shunned. Thrown away. Hell, Tubbo had done it to Tommy with exile.
At the back of his mind, the usual fuzz formed, bright and large. It would be nice to sink into--to take a break, to sit through the inevitable conversation without taking in any of it.
