    Summary

Glass panes groaned, wood panels creaked, and metal shook.
Landing in front of the quickly deteriorating and burning building was Alistair--bleached white messy hair ruffling more in the singed wind, as ink black wings folded behind them. Deep purple skin glistened in the bright of flowing flames that danced with him, long legs carrying him around the almost entirely engulfed structure. A similarly violet tail swayed behind them as he came to a standstill in admiration of his handiwork, glowing red eyes surveying the area for trespassers on this embered ground.
Alistair took a breath, enjoying the familiar scent--familiar feel of smoke filling and burning his throat, lungs, and eyes. He remembered the first time how it had hurt--how it stung. He’d quickly grown out of that, learning to embrace the warmth of blood on lightly freckled skin rather than to shiver at the chill the loss brought to their bones. A smirk toyed with the edge of his chapped lips as charred wood fell, recalling times from a life of the past.
