"You used to be such a goody two shoes, where did that boy go?"
"Shut the fuck up and eat the god damn food Ryuusei." Rin glared at the older man that was currently having dinner with him, at McDonald's.
Shidou giggled at the youngers remark and took a bite of his burger, "You have something against McDonald's or something?"
"You're ruining my healthy diet." Rin shoved a couple of fries in his mouth.
Shidou raised an eyebrow, "Healthy? You mean smoking everyday, drinking and partying almost every week?"
"Ugh. How do you know that?" Rin looked at his chicken with rice that remains untouched.
"Your brother told me."
Rin rolled his eyes, "Of course he would."
"Eat your food RinRin! Your brother and I do not want you to just drop dead at any day and anywhere." Shidou munched his brother while glancing at Rin and Rin's food.
Rin proceeded to roll his eyes and opened his rice that was wrapped in paper. He stared at his meal blankly, chicken...
Rin felt a shiver went up his spine. That didn't go unnoticed. Shidou raised an eyebrow and swallowed his remaining burger, "Is there something wrong with your meal?"
Rin frowned and poked his chicken, "It seems so.. unreal."
His eyebrows twitched and furrowed closely together. Shidou just snickered at his actions.
"It's McDonald's."
"Shut the fuck up."
Now, Rin has a question.
How the fuck did they end up in a park after a McDonald's date. In the middle of the night at that?
Shidou inhaled loudly and looked at Rin, he was definitely gonna say something that Rin isn't gonna like.
"You still play soccer right?"
As expected. Rin knew this question too well.
"No."
Shidou lets out a surprised gasp, "Really? I thought you wanted to be the best striker in the world."
Rin sighed and scoffed, clearly annoyed at the current topic that Shidou suddenly brought up. He has always tried his best to avoid such questions from people, but it seems that he cannot escape his own bestfriend.
"Obviously, that dream died and I continued life like a normal person."
Shidou raised his ridiculous eyebrows, the pink eyes zooming to Rin. Rin averted his eyes, suddenly the sky and the clouds looks so beautiful today. His soccer career had always been an awkward thing to talk about since Rin quit. People usually remain ignorant and still asks him questions, which led to Rin punching and shouting at them when he got really pissed off.
"Then, how's your college life doing?"
"Horrible."
Shidou raised his eyebrow again and pointed at Rin, "Aren't ya smart? Weren't you always at the top of your classes."
It was Rin's turn to raise his eyebrow, "So?"
Shidou's eyebrows furrowed closely now, his expression displaying a quite mad one. Oh, Rin also avoided topics about his college life, even from his parents and Sae. No words were released from his mouth ever since he quit soccer.
"Y'know I'm just worried about ya, right?"
"And? I don't need you worrying about me." Rin snapped back at him, clearly, pissed and not wanting to talk about soccer and his college life. Shidou raised both of his hands, signalling a surrender.
"Okay, okay! Geez, no need to get so worked up." Shidou pats the youngers head and received a light hearted slap. He could see the youngers burning cheeks and reddish ears and can't help but giggle.
"Shut up..."
Then,
Silence.
Not comfortable silence.
Awkward silence.
Rin could feel a sweat drop from his face, he also could hear Shidou scratching his head awkwardly. Rin sighs heavily, why does communication seem to hate him?
"Um... Could you tell me about yours though?" Shidou's head snapped in his direction, his eyes all wide and almost reaching his hairline and also sparkling like those anime that his nii-chan watches.
"Yeah yeah!" Shidou grinned like a maniac, his smile almost reaching his ears and his loud enthusiastic voice was enough to clear up the awkward air.
Shidou started to blabber loudly about his time in Spain with Sae. At that exact moment, Rin's brain detached itself from Rin. The only thing that Rin could muster was Shidou's handsome face. That was only what his eyes focused on, the way how Shidou blinks his beautiful long eyelashes, the way how his beautiful lips open up and close, the way how his beautiful pink eyes seemed to shine under the artificial lights of the lamp and under the moon light.
Everything about Shidou was so beautiful to Rin. He may seem like a menace to his other friends, but to Rin, he's the one. He didn't even notice that he was staring for so long, but Shidou did.
"You're staring."
"So what if i am?" Rin's eyes fluttered beautifully, like it is trying to enchant Shidou to get closer to him. Rin's pink lips seemed too delicious in Shidou's view, he would like to put his own lip in those.
"Do you like me?" Shidou asked and shuffled closer to Rin, their gazes not averting and stared directly at each other.
"Of course i do." Rin scoffed as if it is the most obvious thing that he had answer in his whole entire life. Rin's hand crawled closer to Shidou's hand, as he also shuffles closer to Shidou, their shoulders are almost touching now.
"For how long?" Shidou had finally shuffled closer enough that their bodies were now pressed close to each other, mostly seems like they're trying to warm up each other's body unconsciously.
Rin leaned close to Shidou's ear and whispered softly, "Since the day we met."
Shidou's blush was so bright that it seemed like it was almost the color of his own eyes.
"Really?" Shidou leaned closer to Rin's face, clearly, he wants to kiss. Shidou closed his eyes as he leaned closer than ever but was stopped by a finger on his lips which made him open his eyes in surprise.
"You should take me out on a date before you even kiss me." Rin smiled mischievously and pinched Shidou's cheek.
"Alright then, protect me if your brother finds out okay?" Shidou said sheepishly and scratched his cheek, where Rin pinched.
Rin only smiled in response and gave him a peck in the cheek. Suddenly, Shidou felt like his face was on fire. It was just a peck, not an actual kiss. So he asks himself how he's acting like this even though he has kissed many people before.
"But i thought I had to take you out on a date?"
"A month after our date. I'm still mad at you that you took me in a McDonald's date."
"A MONTH!? RIN!"
Rin only giggled in retort, that made Shidou even desperate.
"RINRIN!"
Giggles and shouts were heard from the small park from twelve am to two am. A lot of people still question who those people were since then.
