Work Text:
Tweek and Craig were laying on their bed, Tweek was just about ready to knock out and Craig was too busy thinking about his memories to even pay attention to what was playing on the TV. He eventually got to the memory of his and Tweeks first kiss when they were in middle school.
“Craig!” Tweek called out, running up to the said boy and giving him a tight hug when he reached him. Craig didn’t react to the action, having been used to the sudden gestures, only wondering what caused it. “Tweek!” he mimicked to the best of his abilities, trying to sound as excited as Tweek did but his naturally monotone voice failing him, making it sound sarcastic.
Tweek knew better, though. He knew Craig wasn’t being sarcastic, he knew Craig was beginning to be just as excited as Tweek was before even knowing what was happening. So, to wash away any confusion Craig might’ve had, he held pulled away from the hug and held up a paper that he had in his hand up to Craigs face.
At first, it was hard to tell with the words so close to each other, but Tweek then pulled it back and then pointed to the giant ‘A’ mark that was imprinted in red ink. Craig reached out and took the paper in his own hands, examining it closer to fully understand the situation. “You passed.” Craig pointed out, and then looked up at Tweek.
He was ecstatic.
His voice showed signs of being uninterested and his face showed no change at all, but Craigs heart filled with pride as he stared into Tweeks beaming, sparkling eyes.
The two had spent weeks studying for Tweeks upcoming biology test, he’d been doing awful in the subject and was informed that if he failed his final test, he’d have to retake the whole class the next year. So, Tweek studied day and night for two weeks straight, with Craig helping out most of the days aswell.
“Oh, Honey. I’m so proud.” and once Craig said those words, he smiled.
Tweek felt his heart skip a beat at the situation. Craigs words making his heart beat fast and Craigs smile making his face warm. Craig rarely smiled, mainly because he looked awkward every time he tried to or because he didn’t want to expose his braces. But Tweek had a privilege, he could see his boyfriends smile without Craig covering his mouth while he did so. He could see his braces on full display and the amount of emotion Craig showed, made Tweeks heart fill with so many emotions aswell.
He felt a sudden impulse and before he could think, he had Craigs face in his hands and his lips on Craigs own.
It didn’t last long, barely even a second because as soon as it happened, Tweek pulled away in panic. “Holy shit! Holy fuck! I-I’m so sorry! I’m so fucking—sorry… holy crap! I ngh—didn’t!” Tweeks hands made its way up to his hair and started pulling.
Craigs mouth was agape, his eyes wide and his face red.
Just when Tweek was about to start tearing up and shower Craig with more apologies, he saw the latter smile for the second time that same day.
Craig didn’t say anything, but he didn’t need to, the message was perfectly clear when Craig leaned in and pecked Tweeks lips, just as fast as Tweek kissed him. He looked shy and bashful after the act, holding Tweeks test up to his chest and breaking eye contact with the blond. Tweek smiled sheepishly and took one of Craigs hand in his own.
The moment didn’t last as long as they liked it to, being interrupted by the girls who had witnessed the whole scene that occurred in the middle of the hallway while switching classes.
Craigs flashback was cut short when he felt an arm wrap around him. Looking to his side, he saw Tweeks droopy eyes staring back at him, and the blond gave him a small smile. “What are you thinking about?” He asked, yawning after he finished his sentence. Craig returned Tweeks small smile with a slightly bigger one and then wrapped his own arm around Tweek, so they were now holding each other.
“Just about our first kiss. Do you remember it?” Craig replied, kissing Tweeks forehead before looking at his husbands’ blue eyes once again. Tweek snorted, not bothering to hide the light shade of blush that brushed on his cheeks at the gesture. “How could I forget? It was so lame.” Tweek sighed, his words contradicting the soft and loving expression that formed on his face.
Craig frowned at those words. “What?” He pouted. Tweek stayed silent and he began to examining Craigs face. “I thought it was amazing…” Craig admitted, his face burning in embarrassment after learning that Tweek did not feel the same way he did about the kiss. Tweeks soft expression was soon replaced with a worried and slightly panicked one.
“Don’t get me wrong! I loved it! I loved it so much, Craig! Really!” Tweek began explaining, “I just… You have to admit, it wasn’t… ideal…” Tweek huffed out a laugh and began blushing at the recall of the memory. Craig didn’t understand what Tweek meant. “You were the one who kissed me, though!” He protested. Tweek grinned, “And I don’t regret it in the slightest! But I just imagined it to be more romantic… I’m upset with myself that I couldn’t hold back.” Tweeks voice became small as his sentence came to an end and he began to turn around and cover his blushing face with his hand.
Craig stopped him before he could turn around any further, though. “I get it now. I mean, I guess it would’ve been better if our eardrums didn’t pop with all of the screaming.” He said, pulling Tweek closer to him and hugging him tight. Tweek chuckled into Craigs chest and hugged him back. “I still can’t believe all the hype we got for that!” he said. “Honey, don’t say hype, we aren’t teenagers anymore.” Craig sighed yet he was still grinning ear to ear and the smile only grew when he heard Tweeks contagious laugh.
“I still loved our kiss, though. I love how much we were able to kiss after that.” Tweek said, his tone shy and his face hidden into Craigs shirt. “Me too, babe. Me too.” He agreed, letting his eyes close and letting himself melt into the warmth and love Tweek provided. The last thing he heard was soft breaths from Tweek, indicating he was asleep before he fell asleep too. He was sure to have sweet dreams for as long as Tweek would have him.
Even if they did have a pretty shitty first kiss.
