Chapter 1: Hua Cheng and the Art of Self Control
Chapter Text
Mu Qing has been incredibly pissed lately, and of course the reason had something to do with Xie Lian.
See, the exact moment Xie Lian had met his very good friend, or so he called him, they had become attached at the hip, well in reality it was more like Xie Lian was attached to Hua Cheng’s lap, yes that’s right, his lap.
The public displays of mutual pining and affection were driving him crazy, absolutely feral, and not feral in a good way. It was causing him to spend less and less time with Xie Lian because, wherever he was, the lovesick puppy was not far behind.
And yeah, Mu Qing was pretty stubborn or as his dearly beloved, Feng Xin, liked to call him ‘tsundere’ but, he would admit he did want to spend time with his best friend.
But oh, oh, how infuriating Hua Cheng was, the little weasel stuck to Xie Lians side, like a moth drawn to a flame. To make matters even worse, the bastard was taller than both Feng Xin and Mu Qing.
He was also plainly, buff as fuck.
Even Feng Xin who was rather slow on the uptake, could see how the gaze Hua Cheng almost always fixed on Xie Lian was thirsty.
Mu Qing was frankly NOT interested in seeing them bone on his couch, because mark his words, one day they would and when that dreadful day came, he would burn it to ashes. (sanitizing it would not free it from the sins that would be committed there)
So what if he and Feng Xin had screwed there before. It was different.
(Not really, Mu Qing and Feng Xin shared an apartment with Xie Lian, and whenever Xie Lian was out with the simp they would bang on any surface available, of course they would clean wherever they had done it for hours after, it did leave them in a guilty conscience after all!)
Coming back to the thing that had Mu Qing sour almost every day, it was this: Xie Lian had taking quite a liking to perching himself upon Hua Chen’s lap, and by liking he meant loving, whenever or wherever didn’t matter to him, as soon as Hua Chen sat on any surface, Xie Lian was quick to follow.
This behavior was taking a toll on Hua Cheng, mentally and physically.
Sure, Mu Qing was really annoyed but god was it entertaining to see the massive brute struggle to keep himself in check.
Mu Qing was incredibly grateful of Hua Cheng’s self restraint, and he hoped it never changed, as he said before, he was not interested in seeing them doing anything, even just kissing.
Mu Qing was getting increasingly bored of their mutual pining, he wasn’t gonna do anything stupid, like those dumbass fanfictions he used to read where some cannon fodder would meddle in the main relationship, trying to get them together, he looked backed on it now wondering why he enjoyed such dog food.
Though maybe there was a small chance he would bully Hua Cheng into admitting his feelings, just so they could get it over with, and Hua Cheng could stop undressing and eye-fucking Xie Lian everytime he saw him, and actually get to do it, perhaps toning down the eye-fucking.
The downside of this though was he suspected their affections would not die down but only ramp up even more, and nobody wants to see Hua Cheng pop a boner.
Ok, maybe Xie Lian did but nobody else would want to see that.
Mu Qing was beginning to think the habit was tolerable (see: the equivalent to a horror movie in real life) when they were in a more private area, but in public, it was to say the least embarrassing.
Imagine having to explain why the ‘friend’ of your best friend has said best friend in said friends lap, when they “weren’t dating”.
God.
Mu Qing hopes Xie Lian picks up on the effect he has over Hua Cheng.
Or else, he fears, his cause of death is going to be from third wheeling too hard.
Chapter 2: Feng Xin’s Dilemma
Summary:
Feng Xin drunkenly agrees to go camping with Mu Qing. Alone.
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
Feng Xin didn’t know why he had agreed to this.
It was a stupid, idiotic thing to do and he was severly dissapointed with his intoxicated self. Sure, he was drunk at the time and had basically no self control, but still, how the actual fuck had he been persuaded.
There was absolutely no way he would enjoy camping with Mu Qing, alone. The boy was practically the embodiment of the word prissy.
He didn’t even know why Mu Qing wanted his company, it made no sense whatsoever, seeing as they could barely stand seeing eachother for more then fifteen minutes at a time. He didn’t know how they would manage five entire days together.
He had already decided these it was going to be a living hell.
He couldn’t even imagine it, Mu Qing was always so, well, clean. He highly doubted Mu Qing would appreciate all the insects and dirt.
The boy would probably demand Feng Xin do everything for him, set up the tents, make all the food, and carry all of Mu Qing’s luggage. Even though Mu Qing knew he was perfectly capable of carrying that amount of weight, he would still force Feng Xin.
Oh, and Feng Xin couldn’t cook for shit.
To add to the already tremendous pressure, if Mu Qing didn’t get his stupid ass Starbucks carmel latte every morning, Feng Xin wasn’t sure he would live to see the end of the trip, let alone the day. Feng Xin wasn’t even sure there would be Starbucks near them!
He was not going to fucking survive, it didn’t matter whether it was physically or mentally, he was going to fucking die.
He desperately regretted his previous decisions, and sure he could cancel last minute if he so desired, but that would absolutely infuriate Mu Qing, who would surely start ignoring Feng Xin.
See, the last time Feng Xin had canceled something, it was a just a day trip to the beach, one with Xie Lian and his incredibly obnoxious boyfriend, who fucking hated him and Mu Qing.
He hadn’t exactly been ecstatic to go, and Mu Qing seemed to share the same mindset. That was until Feng Xin had delivered the news that he couldn’t make it, something with work had come up.
That was complete and utter bullshit, he knew it and Mu Qing knew it, the only one who didn’t was Xie Lian.
Feng Xin had just assumed he was in the clear, Mu Qing hadn’t seemed annoyed when he canceled on them at first. Of course he should have known better, Mu Qing stopped talking to him for three whole weeks.
It was petty as fuck, but it was exactly something the other would do. Feng Xin hadn’t even known Mu Qing wanted him to go, and sure, lying was kind of an asshole move, he could admit that.
He just didn’t want to waste a whole day watching Hua Cheng thirst over Xie Lian when he could be doing other productive things. And he did feel bad for Mu Qing, having to suffer alone.
Feng Xin wouldn’t even try to get out of this. Fearing Mu Qing would choose to ignore him for whoever knows how long. For all he knew, it could be a year. No way he was risking that.
You would think it would be wonderful if Mu Qing decided never to interact with him, they hated eahcother after all. Well, wrong, it was boring as hell for Feng Xin.
Anyway, Feng Xin had barely even one day to pack, and he didn’t know where on earth they would be going, probably some place in the mountains.
He just decided to stuff whatever clothing he saw into his bag, not bothering to count the amount of anything. He hoped it would be enough.
Notes:
Just a silly little WIP that I don’t know how to continue but still wanted to post it!
Chapter 3: At This Point Why Should I Even Try Anymore?
Summary:
Mu Qing just really wants to get along for once, Hua cheng isn’t making it easy.
Chapter Text
Mu Qing sincerely hopes Hua Cheng fucking dies.
The little simp had somehow secured himself a spot at his, Xie Lian’s, and Feng Xin’s weekly movie sessions.
It was absurd, and Mu Qing was at his fucking limit.
Plus, Hua Cheng didn't even like him or Feng Xin, he just wanted to make everyone (besides Xie Lian’s life) a living hell.
Mu Qing had already guessed it was some sort of weird tactic to get them to give him and Xie Lian more alone time, which, hello? They were glued together at the fucking hip.
See, his motive was dumb as fuck!
It was starting to seriously piss Mu Qing off more and more. He tried his best to tolerate the disturbances the first few times, but Hua Cheng was pushing his anger management skills to the max.
Each time he saw Hua Cheng the bastard always seemed like he was trying to provoke Mu Qing, hoping he would throw a few punches so he could go complain to Xie Lian about how ‘barbaric’ and ‘uncouth’ he was.
It wasn't fair.
Mu Qing was allowed to spend time with Xie Lian too, he was a close friend and Hua Cheng didn't get to hog him all to himself.
Mu Qing had even tried to make an effort to be nicer to Feng Xin, now that they were considered f-f-friends.
But of course Hua Cheng chose to start being even more of an asshole now, for once Mu Qing didn't want to take his anger out on Feng Xin.
When he actually thought about what that meant- no he didn’t, he did not and would not think about what that meant for him.
Ugh, stupid Feng Xin, always managing to worm his way into Mu Qing’s brain in some way or another.
It was stupid, Hua Cheng had it so easy.
He didn’t have to spend hours upon hours thinking about what a certain person made him feel or what it meant, he knew exactly what that feeling was and what he planned to do about it.
Meanwhile there was Mu Qing, he had absolutely no clue what Feng Xin was to him, well, he sort of did, they decided on the label friends, at least for now.
God damn it, this is exactly what Mu Qing meant, he wasn’t even supposed to be thinking about Feng Xin right now!
He was supposed to be cursing Hua Cheng and his existence for being such a little bastard.
Plus, why couldn’t he just ask Xie Lian to go on more dates with him, it wasn’t like they were lacking any amount of time together. And he really was willing to go to such lengths for just a miniscule amount of time, about an hour or so.
Mu Qing just wished he wouldn’t go about it the way he had been, he believed his suggestion was far better than the current method Hua Cheng was using.
