Chapter Text
Even though Grian had friends in higher classes he couldn't help but being nervous. Mumbo had drove him to school. He mentioned something about going to the office to sign up for something and then he'd show him around and to his classes, but as soon as they walked through the big glass doors Grian seemed to have lost his friend in the crowd.
He didn't know were the office was to ask for help, nor did he know any of his teachers and where there class rooms were. Grian gripped the straps of his backpack and tried looking for anyone he knew that could help. Students from behind bumped into him trying to walk by some shouting profanities and telling him to move. High school was so much more aggressive then middle school, and all of it was just so overwhelming. He sunk into the red turtleneck sweater and his wings were squeezed against his back, no one seemed familiar. He was then shoved to the ground.
"Out of the way freshy!"
He looked up to see the one who spoke the words but no one was there. More students walked over him and around him. If he were to be honest, he felt kinda scared. School hasn't even started and it was already just about the worst day of his life. He wanted to just go back home, but he'd have to find mumbo for that. He pulled himself off the ground, no one else bothered to help the obviously overwhelmed boy.
He began wondering the halls in hopes to find mumbo or another freshman that he new from his old school, but no luck. He stumbled along a set of stairs that lead to the second floor. Grian groaned, as if the main floor wasn't big enough, there was a whole second floor!
"Hey freshy, you look lost,"
Grian wiped his head around to the deep voice. His eyes landed on a group of older students. He pointed to himself in question for confirmation on who they were talking to.
"No the other freshman," The creeper hybrid scuffed, "yes you. Get over here,"
Grian looked around, he was the only freshman in this general area. He attempted crossing the traffic of other students but every time he went to take a step someone walked in front of him. The man with the German accent rolled his eyes and pulled the small boy through.
"You do know sex-Ed isn't around here, right?"
"Sex.. Ed?"
"You know, like the birds and the bees, sex. You can't tell me you don't know what sex is. " The older student cocked an eyebrow, Grian just stood there uncomfortable, the topic normally wouldn't be that awkward other then the fact it was with a complete stranger.
"Doc, sex isn't the only thing they teach in Heath, stop messing with the poor kid, dude, your scaring him," The person who he learned was Doc snickered and rolled his eyes.
"Anyways, do you need help or not?" It took a moment before Grian nodded, he wasn't sure how they knew Heath was his first class but the offer was appreciated nonetheless, because he was in fact lost.
The bell rang and halls began moving faster but the faster it went the less students there appeared to be. Doc, pointed him in the direction of his class, and said that he'd know it when he saw it, and that he did, a sparkly door with the words 'welcome freshman to Heath class,' in big letters.
He opened the door and immediately felt more relaxed. The room had soft lighting and had a theme of red and soft pink and smelled of vinnilla. A baby blue and green bean bag chairs sat in the corner right next to the door with a wood coffee table and fuzzy pink rug underneath. On the other side of the room was wear the teacher sat, the teacher smiled warmly and waved. Standing up and walking over she put a hand on Grian's shoulder and introduced herself. She was slightly on the shorter side but fit, she wore a pink button down shirt and black pants and pink shoes to match the shirt.
"You can sit anywhere you want, if" she paused, "you can tell me your name," she giggled.
"Grian,"
"Nice to meet you, Grian,"
Grian only nodded before spotting a friend and heading over to the back to take the seat next to him. Joel smiled as he pointed to the seat he wanted grian to sit in. As he took his seat he pulled out his phone, he had gotten a text. Opening it up he could see it was Mumbo with a 'where did you go?' text, as he typed back his response of 'I'm in class' the second bell rang, and class began.
Most of class was just a bunch of 'get to know you' stuff and an assignment were you had to write down three things about every person in the room. Forcing students to socialize with one another. Although Grian already knew half the people in the room, he wasn't really in the mood for conversation and just wanted to get on with his day.
"I don't like this class already" Joel groaned as he slumped down in his chair, copying Lizzie's paper filled with facts about their classmates. Grian sat down in his seat beside him wishing he would have done the same so he didn't have to talk to everyone but his paper was already done and turned in.
"Really? So far I'm really enjoying it, nice teacher, cozy classroom, fun and easy assignments," Lizzy doodled some flowers on the corner of Joel's paper.
"The teachers too nice, Lizzie, too nice as in she probably used to teach kindergartners, the classroom reminds me of a little girls bedroom, and it's only the first day Lizzie, obviously the assignments are going to be easy, I wouldn't go as far as to say there fun though," A huff from Lizzie came as she took her paper back, and Joel reacted with a 'I wasn't done with that!' Before Timmy joined them, "Well aren't you just a Debbie downer," he chuckled.
"Well maybe you're a Debbie upper!"
"Joel that- that doesn't even make any sense,"
"Makes perfect sense to me," Grian chimed in. Joel and Grian always liked to tease Tim, some would say he needs new friends but he insists that its all fun in games. Poor Tim, the world never seems to be on his side, from falling down a flight of stairs, to getting lost in the mall. Not to mention he got in a pretty bad car accident the year before.
It didn't take long before the bell rang and students flooded the halls, grian looked down at his schedule.

"History is next" he said aloud. With his nose in the paper in front of him, he soon ran into something and met the ground with a thud.
"Are you ok?!" He heard someone say.
"Yeah I'm fine," he moved to get up when a hand was shoved in his face offering help up.
