Chapter 1: It was a kind of meet-cute

Chapter Text

“Let’s go for a walk, Kacchan.” Izuku said, with a leash in one hand and patting his thigh with the other in order to lure his chihuahua to get closer to him. He made a frustrated sound when he saw his dog break into a run. “Kacchan, please, you have to go out once in a while!” he said, pleading with the dog. After a few runs around the apartment, he finally grabbed him and put the leash on him. Not without a few grunts in between. “Come on, Kacchan, we’re going to have fun. I’ll take the ball, and we’re going to play catch. How does that sound?” The dog answered him with a growl. “You know, for a little boy, you have a lot of anger,” Izuku said, letting out a giggle.

He grabbed the bags to collect her dog’s necessities and left the apartment. Called the elevator and let out a sigh that he had saved as he left the complex. He was thankful for not running into a certain neighbor who wouldn’t stop wanting to pet his dog. Even with the warnings, Kacchan send him. He left him on the sidewalk and walked towards the park that he had a block away. As grumpy as Kacchan was about to come outside, Izuku knew he loved it. He could see it in the way his tail was wagging fast. Izuku knew why he didn’t like to go out. He heard from the guys from the dog shelter that someone had abandoned Kacchan in a park tied to a tree. It took him half a year to get close to him. A month later, he started sleeping in his bed with him, and two months later, he let him take him out for walks. It was all worth it at the moment. Kacchan let him caress him and show him how much Izuku loved him. Now, two years later, they were inseparable. He was utterly grateful to the universe for putting Kacchan in his way. Although, he always felt a pain in his chest every time he thought about how, every time someone adopted him, they returned him a month later. All because they weren’t able to wait and take the time to get to know him. They don’t deserve him.

A bark took him out of his thoughts just as they were entering the park. Izuku looked down to see Kacchan tilt his head next to him with a confused expression. He gave another bark and stretched out his front legs and lowered his head as he lifted his tail up. Generally, dogs do it fast and wildly. Kacchan did it smoothly, even wagging his tail a little slower than before. It seemed like this was more of a favor Kacchan was doing for Izuku to make him happy than him wanting to play. “Do you want to play catch already?” he chuckled and reached down to remove his leash. “This is going to be a long one, Kacchan. Are you ready?”

“Woof!” he answered her with an arrogant bark.

“Here I go, Kacchan!” Izuku said and threw the ball. While he saw his dog running from him, he went to sit on the grass for a while and just stare at the best thing that happened to him.

After a few catches, Izuku could notice both were starting to get tired down. “Last one Kacchan, if you catch it, I will give you a treat when we get home, okay?” He asked and his dog barked at him and his tail started to move faster while he gave a little jump.He prepared himself to throw the ball like he was playing baseball, and voilà! The ball flew and Kacchan was already running to catch it where it would land. Suddenly, though, another dog jumps and catches it midair, leaving an equally surprised and angry Kacchan who starts barking at him. While Izuku starts running to his dog, a little amused by how Kacchan was trying to fight a twice-big dog at him, a scream startled him.

“Deku, you little shit!” A blonde man comes running toward the dog, and grabs the leash that must have slipped through your fingers. He looked tired and his white shirt stuck to his toned body because of the sweat. His hair was completely drenched as well and sticking to his face. He was wearing sweatpants too, so Izuku assumed he was doing some exercise, like running, before his dog decided to escape from him. Izuku giggled at the thought of these big men startled by his dog, who decided to make a run for it. That made a pair of fiery scarlet eyes land on him, paying full attention. The blonde opened his mouth, but no sound came to Izuku’s ears. At the lack of response, the blonde raises an eyebrow, but before he could say anything, his dog pulled the leash he was holding. Causing him to fall into the green-haired’s arms and, if that wasn’t all, began to run in circles, entangling them both. Kacchan watches, amused by his owner’s panic and embarrassment, laying on the ground in front of them. Letting out a little snort from time to time. Izuku’s hands laid in the huge pecs of the men, and the massive hands of that man grabbed his waist for balance. He didn’t know if he was in hell or heaven. If any more heat came to his face, he would turn like a strawberry and would last an hour. “Hey! Freckles, did you hear me!?”

“WHA-ah! I-I’m sorry, what was it?” Izuku mumbled nervously, and the blonde let out a chuckle that felt as if it rumbled throughout his body.

“I said, I’m sorry for this. My dog can be fucking stupid sometimes.” Their faces were so close that it seemed that he spoke in whispers and his deep voice touched his body, giving him chills. The place where the blonde’s hand were was burning and gave him currents of electricity that traveled to his nape and made his hair stand on end. He fights so hard his intrusive thought to squeeze the pecs under his hands.

“I-I… It’s fine, really, don’t worry,” Izuku said, while letting out a nervous laugh.

“Well, here” the blonde said with a smirk, grabbing his hand and causing more blood to rush to Izuku’s cheeks. “Let me help you”

“I-… okay,” Izuku said, almost in a whisper. The guy pulls the lash down and releases a very flustered greenhead. His arms flex with every move that Izuku was afraid to be literally drooling.

“So, freckles, what’s your name?” The blonde said when he finished entangling himself.

“AH-“, He caught him staring again. “I’m Izuku, and the one there is Kacchan,” he said, pointing at the chihuahua, who was still lying on the ground. The dog tilts his head at the mention of his name.

“Katsuki,” he said, extending his hand for the greenhead to take, “and this little shit is Deku.” His dog, a beagle, barks at the mention of his name and the blonde just ruffles his head while smirking. “Here, I think this must be yours,” Katsuki extends his hand with the ball that his dog audaciously caught. That caught the attention of Kacchan and starts walking closer to his owner.

“Thank you, Kacchan loves it, right buddy?” Izuku giggles when his dog watches him, annoyed by the confession he made.

Although he put his attention to the dog in front when he saw him approach. Deku starts smelling him, wagging his tail so fast and Kacchan lets him, even when he lets out a grunt. He never let other dogs get close to him, so Izuku was amazed and excited. He even let the dog lick his cheek! So cute! Kacchan’s tail wagged excitedly, too.

“Aw! you made your first friend!” the greenhead said and his dog growled at him, which made him giggle. Deku didn’t fade by the growl but instead he barked at Kacchan and invited him to play, as dogs do. “You have somewhere to go?” He asks the blonde.

“What?” Katsuki was taken aback by the question. He didn’t know how to answer.

“So the dogs can play. Kacchan never lets any dogs near him, so I don’t want to throw this opportunity away.” He said, bringing back his attention to the dog where Kacchan was sitting and Deku jumping around him.

“Oh, I don’t have anything to do. I finished my workout already, so do you want to sit?”

“Cool!” the greenhead said, he takes the ball and gives it to his dog. “Here boy, go play. Kacchan, be good!” His god lets out a snort at his warning. He gives the other dog a defiant look before he grabs the ball and starts running with Deku behind him.

Both owners sit down in silence, watching their dogs play. Izuku felt kinda uncomfortable. He felt like he needed to say something, but what should he say? His hands were sweaty and his leg was moving fast.

“Could you stop that already!?” Katsuki snaps, grabbing his leg, making the other boy let out a jolt by the sudden touch.

“I’m sorry!”

“Whatever. What’s your issue? If you’re scared that my dog would hurt yours, I’m telling you he’ll not. He’s the sweetest dog I have ever seen. It gives me cavities.” The blonde smirks at him and Izuku relaxes under his gaze.

“I’m just nervous, like Kacchan, I’m not so good at socialization” /At least not anymore/ Izuku thought. As a teen, he was always surrounded by people, but never actually friends. He wasn’t stupid. He knew when people walked all over him just because he was nice. It’s also not like his job to help here since he works from home. So it was just him and his dog, and that was enough for him.

“Good, me neither, so let’s be bad together,” Katsuki said as if that solved anything, and strangely for Izuku, it did. So he smiles at him like he never did since he was fifteen.

They talked until the sun was almost set. About how they adopt their dogs. Katsuki told him how he found Deku on the side of the highway, in a box with nothing but just a dirty blanket. Izuku got angry and almost cried, which the blonde found refreshing and thoughtful of him. They even finished geeking about his favorite movies and tv show from All Might. Kacchan and Deku were already tired and lying on top of each other. None wanted to leave the company of another.

“It’s getting dark. How about I accompany you to your house?” Katsuki asks, nervous.

“That would be nice,” Izuku said fondly

They both go to their dogs and they whine, thinking they would separate them... well, Kacchan actually growls when the blonde try to tie the leash on Deku.

They start walking towards Izuku’s house, both dogs on the leash but still one close to the other.

“Huh, weird,” Katsuki said as he found himself in front of the entrance to the building where Izuku lives.

“What?” Izuku’s attention was on the blonde, with a confuse look.

“I live here too,” the blonde said without taking his eyes off the building.

“WHAT!?”

He would have seen a hot guy like him if he live in the same building, right? RIGHT!?
