the plumbob problem

Summary:

Luka gets hit by an akuma who sends him into...The Sims?!
Wait...is that Ladybug and Chat Noir?!

Notes:

Based on a post my dear Nilsia shared and then lovingly demanded I write about. 💜

The Simlish isn't entirely real/accurate because it's basically impossible to translate but I did my best. Enjoy the crack.

Work Text:

Luka landed with a soft thud against the…ground? No…it felt…fuzzy? Like TV static?

He’d been hit by the latest akuma to terrorize Paris while out running errands, by the time he’d noticed something was amiss, Luka found himself in the path of a bright beam.

It was no big deal; he’d been hit by dozens of akumas over the last year. Each one more convoluted than the next.

He stood and examined his surroundings.

Houses lined the street, trees swayed in an intangible breeze, and in the distance, a river attracted several people to its banks for fishing.

It would have seemed like a normal place to end up, perhaps it was a regular American neighborhood, were it not for the distinct static everything seemed to give off. Like touching a computer or TV screen.

“Sul sul? Ah, woka depwa gah?”

Luka nearly screamed as he was shocked out of his musings.

Whipping his head around, he came face to face with…Ladybug and Chat Noir?

That was them wasn’t it?

The outfits were…mostly the same and their hair and eyes matched, but there was a strange, uncanny valley feeling about them.

The man’s jaw was too sharp to be Adrien’s and the spattering of freckles was too symmetrical and dark to be Marinette’s.

He’d been about to speak when one of them spoke again.

“Es wibbs depwa?”

“What?” He didn’t mean for his question to come out so indignantly. But the language the two seemed to speak was so strange and confusing, he couldn’t even begin to understand what they were saying.

Seemingly taken aback by his response, “Chat Noir” turned to “Ladybug” and spoke lowly.

“Bow deesh et es looba.”

As the two conversed quietly, Luka examined them closer, eyes trailing from their feet all the way up to where they stood at the same height.

Weird. Even further proof they were not the real Ladybug and Chat Noir.

He was about to look over the area again when movement above both their heads caught his attention.

There, slowly twirling in place, were green diamonds.

It suddenly hit him all at once.

The fuzzy feeling of his surroundings, the strange language, the weird doubles of the hero’s, the akuma!

Luka had been sent into a video game!

Not just any game based on the evidence.

No, Luka found himself stuck inside The Sims, of all games.

“Dis es ba, minicule.” “Ladybug” began to sound annoyed.

“Dis es ba, balinda.” “Chat Noir” replied, in a similarly flirty tone as the real one would.

Both turned to look at him before “Ladybug” spoke again.

“Lu norbae chenga!”

Reaching behind her, she pulled out a wrapped box, a perfect bow on top, and held it out to him.

Luka took it gingerly, lifting the lid slowly and revealing its contents.

A singular, generic, game console controller sat at the bottom.

He reached in and pulled it out, watching in awe as the box disappeared into static.

Examining the controller, he tried to remember the commands his sister tried to teach him when they were younger.

“Ladybug” began to speak to “Chat Noir” again before both stood as if awaiting him to instruct them.

After a bit of fiddling, Luka managed to get the command menu to pop up around the side of “Chat Noir’s” head.

He perused the options, softly giggling to himself when the “Romance” menu seemed to be favorable at the moment.

Selecting it, he skimmed the options until his eyes locked on the “Passionate Kiss” command.

In Luka’s eyes, he’d seen Marinette kiss Chat Noir multiple times during akuma attacks. Whether it was always the solution to their problem or not, it always seemed to be a go-to for her. So, why not try it now?

Steeling his resolve he executed the command with the press of a button.

Suddenly, “Ladybug” faced “Chat Noir” voice gaining a sultry timbre as she caressed his cheek and whispered to him.

Then, cupping his face, Luka watched with bated breath and red cheeks as “Ladybug” pressed her lips to “Chat Noir’s”.

In much the same way he felt when his sister had made two of her Sims kiss one another, Luka felt both embarrassed and fascinated. Not wanting to openly stare but unable to look away.

Without warning, bright light filled his vision and he felt himself hit the ground again.

Only this time, the ground was the hot pavement of the Paris street he’d been before getting attacked.

Looking up he saw the deep red faces of the real Ladybug and Chat Noir, both looking at him with tight lips and twitchy brows.

Uh oh.

Guess he hadn’t been the only one stuck in that game…

They’d forgive him, right ?

After all, he had freed them all with his “solution ”.
