However, in this universe Adrien and Marinette aren't a couple... they don't even speak. When Emma arrives, it doesn't take too long for the small toddler to start causing problems, her first port of call: to get her parents stuck in a PR nightmare.
But when it comes down to the truth, and the condescending glare of Gabriel Agreste, Adrien does the only thing he can think of - he lies like he's never lied before.

In order to defeat Hawk Moth, Ladybug had to renounce her guardianship of the Miracle Box. When she awoke, two months later, in the hospital, she had lost her memories from the past ten years. She didn't know the she'd been Ladybug or anything about the Miraculous heroes. She couldn't remember meeting Adrien Agreste, or that they had been dating for years. She didn't know that she had a son. All she knew was that, for some reason, Gabriel Agreste wanted her dead and she had to leave Paris.
Single dad, Adrien, has a good life with his eight-year-old son in England until a local Shakespeare Festival causes him to meet somebody from a past he had tried to run from. Is it worth the risk to get to know her again, or should he walk away for the safety of his son?
This work is basically an ode to the wonderful Lady Bryght and her compelling and poetic stories.

The two reconnect and agree to a partnership that will benefit both of them, the only problem being, is that their decade-long disdain for each other may be difficult to overcome as the two enter a faux relationship so they can both achieve the financial freedom that they desire. What happens when the lines of acting and sincerity begin to blur? When do the strong emotions of fury and resentment begin to warp into newer, more powerful feelings of lust, and possible adoration?
