It’s been a very long day of working in the science lab. You, Senku and Chrome have been working on a project that you three were going to present the other villagers.
You and Senku were still working, even though it’s already late. Chrome on the other hand already left. You don’t blame him, it had been a long day and that poor boy sure needs his sleep.
“We need something from one of the huts in the village.”, Senku said while walking to the door.
“Do you need my help?”, yo asked him.
“Yep, I need you to help me carry one of the baskets that are laying there.”, Senku replied to which you nodded to. So you both silently walked in the village.
“Hey Senku.”, you called his name to get his attention. “Look at how good you can the moon today.”
“You’re right.”, Senku agreed while also looking at the sky.
“How about we take this stuff, walk back to the lab and take a short break.”, you said while picking up one of the baskets.
“It wouldn’t harm to take a short break, I guess.”, Senku agreed.
And with that the both of you walked back to the lab and placed the material you just brought on a safe place on the table.
“How about we take our break outside? It is good weather.”, you asked and without words Senku walked to the door and waited for you to follow.
So you both went outside and stood near the lab.
You both stood in silence until Senku decided to break it.
“Thank you for keeping me company.”, Senku mumbled so quietly that you almost didn’t hear it. You looked up to him, kinda surprised to see this side of him but let out a small chuckle after your brain processed what he said.
“It’s strange.”, you said while letting another chuckle out. “I never thought to see this side of you. It’s kinda out of character for you.”
“Yeah, yeah. Laugh all you want.”, Senku said but in his mind Senku cursed himself for saying anything.
‘Why am I acting this way?’, Senku asked himself but his thoughts got interrupted when you asked him something.
“Hey Senku. Can I ask something?”, you asked.
“What is it?”, Senku replied, sounding kinda annoyed even though he doesn’t mean to.
“Which hormones does the brain produces when you like someone really much?”, you asked him.
“Huh? Why do you want to know that?”, Senku asked you.
“Just answer.”
“And what if I don’t?”, Senku sarcastically asked.
“So you don’t know which hormones the brain produces? And I thought that you would know it.”, you answered him teasingly.
“If your attracted to someone, your brain will release dopamine which then increases your serotonin levels and then oxytocin is produced.”, Senku replied having a small smile on his face.
“So that mean,”, you started saying while looking up to Senku again “My brain releases dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin ever since I fell for you.”
“Yeah, something along these...”, Senku stopped mid-sentence when he realized what you said. He looked at you surprised.
“What did you just say?”, Senku asked.
“I said, that my brain releases dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin ever since I fell for you.”, you repeated anxiously.
Silence fell between the both of you.
‘I shouldn’t have said that.’, you thought to yourself while you two were standing there looking at each other until Senku’s lips formed a light smile.
“I like you too.”
