Treasure

Summary:

"When we received this assignment, I was honestly lost on what I should do," Sana began, "Around me, everyone was picking items that meant the most to them. So, I felt like I had to as well."

Who knew a simple presentation for her class could make her realize how much her best friend meant to her?

"Even though everyone else chose items, I couldn't find the perfect item. Instead, I found myself the perfect person... So, if you
haven't already guessed it by now, my treasure is my best friend.."

Notes:

Life sucks ass, I'm doing a lot of testing, I have no motivation, BUT IM BACK NOW!! Hopefully for good.

Work Text:

"Thank you, please go take a seat." the teacher said as he picked up the paper with a list of names, "Up next we have.. Sana."

Sana stood up from her seat, made her way up to the front of the classroom, and waited for her teacher to pull up her slideshow presentation. Once he did, she spoke.

"When we received this assignment, I was honestly lost on what I should do," Sana began, "Around me, everyone was picking items that meant the most to them. So, I felt like I had to as well."

"But, I just couldn't find an item that felt irreplaceable, something that I would never want to loose..."

"So you don't have a treasure?" her classmate, Jeongyeon, questioned.

"The.. what is it?" another classmate asked.

She sighed, "Well if you would let me finish.. you would know."

"My treasure has been with me ever since I was three."

"Sana, you have to let go of me, sweetheart.." her mother whispered to her.

"B-But, I don't wanna go alone!" Sana whimpered in response, "Please stay!"

Her mother sighed, "You told me you'd be a big, brave girl today! What happened, Sana?"

"There's just so many people, an-and.. I don't wanna go anymore!" she replied.

"It'll all be okay," her mother assured her, "You can make some friends, it gets lonely at home, does it not?"

"Y-Yeah but.."

"Sana, it's okay." her mother put a hand on her head, "I'll be back to pick you up in a few hours, have fun."

And with that, her mother stood up and left.

"WAIT-! MOM!" she cried, attempting to run after her with no avail.

She got held back by one of the adults who waved at her mother with a smile.

The whole school day, Sana was sulking in a corner. How could her mother just abandon her like this?! She doesn't know any of these people, nor does she trust them. She's pretty sure that she witnessed one of the boys rip off the head of a doll and throw it at another kid. This place was scary and she absolutely couldn't wait to get home.

"Hi!" a girl approached her happily.

"Oh, uhm-" Sana scanned her, "Hi.."

"Are you sad?" she questioned, tilting her head to the side.

"No!" she denied, "I'm not sad."

"..." the girl stared at her before smiling, "Okay! Do you wanna be friends?"

"Wha-- me? Friends?" Sana questioned with a hopeful glint in her eyes.

The girl nodded.

"Okay!"

"That was the first time we met each other," Sana explained, "My treasure has been with me at both my highest and lowest points."

"Come look! Come look!" Sana shouted holding a paper in her hand.

"Huh?" her friend questioned confusingly, "What's that?"

'So.. you know how I've been struggling with my math lately..?"

"Yeah?"

"And how my teacher told me that if I didn't pass this test I would have to retake algebra?"

"Mhm.."

"WELL GUESS WHO GOT A B!!" Sana jumped excitedly.

"YOU DID!!" her treasure cheered, "GREAT JOB, SANA!"

"Thank you~!" Sana smiled.

"C'mon, let's go celebrate." she grabbed her hand, "Ice cream on me."

"Let's go!"

"Why are you crying, Sana?" her treasure questioned worriedly, "What's wrong?"

"I.. I don't wanna talk about it." she replied with a shake of head.

"Oh, well, that's okay." her treasure smiled slightly, "Don't move, I'll be back, okay?"

"Okay?"

The girl ran off and Sana managed to let out a small chuckle and how silly she looked. Sana fidgeted with her fingers while waiting for the return of her friend. A few minutes passed and she looked up, hearing running footsteps in the distance.

"I'M BAACKKK!" she shouted, "Did ya miss me?"

"You were gone for five minutes." Sana responded, rolling her eyes.

"Aw, so you didn't miss me?" she pouted, "That's okay. Look what I got!"

"Crisp choco!" Sana shouted, "How'd you get it?!"

"Traded some kid my candy." she replied, "Here ya go! I hope this makes you feel better."

"Thank you so much!" Sana hugged her, "You're the best!"

"My treasure has always been my #1 supporter and protector." Sana smiled, recalling a past memory.

Sana yelped as she got pushed against the wall.

"No wonder you have no friends, you're so annoying," the boy giggled.

"I have friends! T-They enjoy my personality!" Sana retorted.

"How can you be so sure? Let's be completely honest here.. nobody would want to be friends with someone like you." The boy scoffed, "You're loud, annoying, energetic, overbearing, how do they put up with you?"

"I.." Sana couldn't formulate a response, she stared at the floor with tears gathering in her eyes.

"HEY!" they both turned to the voice, "LEAVE HER ALONE!"

"And.. what are you going to do about it?"

"I'm gonna beat you up." she replied.

"Pfft-" the boy laughed, "What an empty threat. What can somebody like you do?"

"I can do a lot, actually," the girl walked closer, "I can do things like.. THIS."

The girl punched him in his face, hard, causing him to let go of Sana.

"Go away and leave her alone."

He rolled his eyes, "I'll be back to finish you off tomorrow, just you wait."

"Are you okay?" her treasure asked her, "Did he hurt you?"

"Do I.. annoy you?" Sana questioned with a shaky voice.

"What? No, of course not!" she responds, "Why would you think that?"

"My personality is annoying."

She shook her head, "No it's not! It's what makes you.. you! And if he can't handle that, it's his problem! I love you just the way you are, don't let him bring you down like that! Okay?"

Sana sniffled, "Okay."

"Ice cream?"

"Yeah, I'd like that."

"Question, Sana.." Jeongyeon raised her hand.

Sana nodded, "Ask away."

"Did he ever come to finish off your treasure?" she questioned.

"Yes, he did come the next day, but my treasure brought her older sister.. so.. he got beat." Sana replies, "It was funny to watch honestly. He never bothered us again."

"Anyways! That's enough with the flashbacks.. even though everyone else chose items, I couldn't find the perfect item. Instead, I found myself the perfect person... So, if you haven't already guessed it by now, my treasure is my best friend, Hirai Momo."

"I KNEW IT WAS ME!" Momo shouted from the back of the classroom.

"Well.. obviously.. you were present in every single memory I brought up." Sana pointed out.

"I feel so honored." Momo placed a hand over her chest, "Love you!"

Sana chuckled, "Love you too, Momoring."

"Anyways, that wraps up my presentation." she smiled, "Thanks guys!"

The class clapped loudly, along with her teacher who stepped back up to the front.

"That was spectacular, Sana. Thank you for your amazing presentation." he complimented, "Momo, would you like to come up next?"

"Oh.. uh.. sure."

...

"So my treasure is pigs' feet--"

I got this idea from a Glitter Force episode.. LMAOAO
