Yelena didn't know how to hug anybody at first, not without a mission, not without a purpose. But Kate changes everything. It's odd, the effect Kate has on her. Kate makes her feel alive, makes her feel more human. She's more than what they made her. Kate reminds her of that every single day.
The first time she hugs Kate is a victory. Yelena is allowed to love her girlfriend, to hold her. They can't stop her. Not anymore. Yelena can hug Kate and kiss her and love her. She's okay. She won. She won't let anyone take this away.
