“Nito?” Kuro knocked his hand against the wood of his boyfriend’s shared dorm room with Natsume and Leo.
“Coming!” He hears the all familiar voice of Nazuna from the other side. The thumping of his footsteps hopping on the wood can be heard, and the door swings open to see Nazuna’s beaming smile greet him.
Kuro returns a smile. “Hey.”
“Hey, Kuro-chin~” Nazuna chuckles, moving to the side to allow entrance for the taller boy. “Come on in!”
It was a common routine for one of them to visit the other’s dorm during their free days, mostly to unwind and find respite in each other’s presence after a full day of university (for Nazuna’s case) or idol work. Finding comfort by staying close to the other’s side, it was something they both have been doing since their first meeting. From Nazuna just silently sticking close to Kuro when they met up on the rooftop, to Nazuna falling asleep on Kuro’s shoulder when he sneaks a stay in the Karate Club’s dojo—all the way until now, where now they just spend their free afternoons just chilling on the bed, chattering the day away until the sky changed from it’s bright blue color to a dark blue glittering with stars.
Kuro enters inside Nazuna’s dorm room, noticing first that both Leo and Natsume aren’t around – which meant that it was just Nazuna for the time being. His second observation was towards Nazuna’s bed, where his eyes lie upon the striped comforter and Kuro makes eye contact with…Koppe.
Koppe — Nazuna’s beloved pet bunny and the fourth resident of this dorm room.
And also Kuro’s rival for Nazuna’s attention.
“What brings you here, Kuro-chin?” Nazuna asks, sitting on the bed and patting on his side, motioning for Kuro to sit next to him.
Kuro moved to sit next to him. "Just had a long day today. Had a big photoshoot in the afternoon and now I'm tired as hell."
His mind flashes back to hours before, where his unit AKATSUKI were tasked to partake in a photoshoot for a segment in one of the many idol magazines published for young audiences. Keito found it to be a great opportunity to join to help promote their unit for more jobs in the future - it would be a waste to not aim for this opportunity, he says.
So they took it, and now they had just finished - not expecting that the shoot would take hours due to the many people also tasked for photos that day and the photoshoot director's indecisiveness.
Nearly a whole day had come and gone, and Kuro wanted nothing to do but to curl up and rest in Nazuna's embrace.
There was just one problem.
"Aww, Kuro-chin." Nazuna gives him an apologetic look. "That must be exhausting, but now you're here and you can—ah, Koppe!"
Before Nazuna could continue his sentence, his pet bunny had hopped onto his papa's lap, claiming the spot as his own.
"Aww, you're so cute, Koppe! My cute little baby~"
The bunny remained firmly planted on Nazuna's lap, allowing himself to have his fur stroked by the blonde while his beady, black eyes were staring very intently at Kuro. Koppe's nose twitched as he stayed put, almost like he and Kuro were having a staring contest.
It was a little...unsettling—his gaze, that is. It's almost like he's judging the taller boy for who knows why. It's always been like this between the both of them and Kuro never really understood why. Was his face scary or something? Is his presence too daunting for the little creature? Well, if that's the case, then Koppe would have hopped away from them by now, but that wasn't true at all by the sight he saw before him.
What Kuro understands though was that he just wanted to spend an intimate moment with Nazuna, perhaps some cuddling and kissing on Nazuna's bed. Unfortunately, his boyfriend's beloved little bunny had taken away all of Nazuna's attention from Kuro, relaxing on the blonde's lap while all he could do was watch.
Kuro remains seated on the bed, feeling a little awkward now that Nazuna’s focus has shifted to tending to his rabbit for a few brief moments.
“Sorry about that, Koppe can be a needy boy.” Nazuna apologizes, turning his head to look at Kuro again. “So anyway, like I said, you can stay here with me!”
“Mmm.” Kuro nods, smiling now. “I’d like that a lot.”
Nazuna chuckles, beaming softly at Kuro. "Yeah, me too."
The blonde gently carries Koppe out of his lap and down on the wooden floor of the dorm, letting him hop away to who knows where. With the bunny gone, Nazuna is able to move and let himself sit on Kuro's lap, nuzzling his cheek against his chest while his small arms try its best to wrap itself around Kuro's waist.
The first thing Kuro notes is how warm Nazuna feels. The blonde hums happily, a warm smile on him like he's resting peacefully on the softest pillow in the entire world. He also notes how tiny he is when sitting on his lap and Kuro feels a strong need to embrace him to shield the bunny away from anything that could potentially harm him.
His need is satiated by simply letting his hand reach for the blonde's head, giving him gentle pats and lightly ruffling his hair. Nazuna would normally be fussy when it's anyone else doing that to him, but he's known and trusted Kuro long enough that he becomes willing to receive such signs of affection from him – and with a bright smile to complete it.
"Feel better?" Nazuna looks up at him with his big red eyes beaming up.
"Yeah, a lot." Kuro nods. "Yer the best, Nito."
"Good, good~" The blonde sings. "I'm glad to hear tha—unyaa?!"
The sudden cry catches Kuro's attention, his eyes immediately on alert trying to find what could cause Nazuna to loudly stutter. But it seems that he doesn't have to look far to figure out the reason, as his eyes peer down on Nazuna's lap to see that his pet bunny had climbed up on him (them?) and is currently gazing up at Nazuna - his tiny front paws pressed on the small boy’s chest while his beady eyes stare right into Nazuna's shocked face.
"K-Koppe…" Nazuna's surprise is evident from the tone of his voice. "You scared me…h-haha, you're so fussy right now, huh?"
Kuro couldn't help but let his brows furrow from just seeing the bunny and Nazuna. It was true that the rabbit would sometimes come up to Nazuna when he wanted his attention, but he never had seen him disturb them before during their shared intimate moments. Usually, he hopped away to his little area or Nazuna's roommates would take him under their wing to leave them be, but…it never was like this.
Huh.
"Now Koppe, you should hop off for a little and play with your toys!" Nazuna had carried him back to put him down on the floor again. "Papa will play with you a little later, okay?"
The couple watched the rabbit hop off–the creature doing so a little hesitantly. They kept their eyes on him just to make sure he wouldn't suddenly come back and they would be disturbed again. Once Nazuna is sure that Koppe won't be coming back, he turns his attention back to Kuro again.
"Sorry about that again." Nazuna gives him an apologetic look. "Like I said, Koppe can be needy."
"I don't mind, Nito." Kuro looks back at him. "The little fella is cute."
"Of course he is!" Nazuna radiates the energy of a proud dad. "Hehe, now where were we?~"
With Nazuna's bunny gone - hopefully for real this time, the blonde returns all his attention towards Kuro. Nazuna takes hold of Kuro's wrist, leading him to lie in bed together while they face each other.
Once more, Kuro feels warm from head to toe. Nazuna is smiling in front of him, his adorable face equally flushed like the color of the taller boy's hair. Their hands are intertwined into a gentle hold, with Kuro's thumb brushing softly against Nazuna's knuckles.
His heartbeat goes fast, a little embarrassed that he is probably staring a little too much at his small boyfriend. But how could he look away when he's this cute? Kuro wants to keep looking at him forever, to take a clear photo of this moment and store this precious memory forever in his heart. And whenever he closes his eyes, Kuro hopes that this image would appear vividly in his mind.
His eyes dart for Nazuna's small lips — a thought running in his mind that goes he's so kissable right now. And it seems Nazuna's gotten a hint of what he's thinking too, as he purses his lips and shuts his eyes close, waiting for Kuro to make his move.
Kuro takes a deep breath, mentally preparing himself, and he closes his eyes as well. His body slowly moves forward, every inch as he comes closer making his hands feel all sweaty. He can hear how loud his heart thumps, but equal amounts of nervousness also brings about an excitement with him – the excitement to share an intimate kiss with his adorable lover. Finally, Kuro's lips will come into contact with that softness he's been craving for—
—only to be met with a furry texture on his mouth instead.
His eyes open up to a sight of a familiar light brown color.
"WAAHHHH?!" Nazuna cries out loud and Kuro can see from the corner of his eye that Nazuna pulls himself back, surprised just as Kuro is about what had somehow appeared between them.
Kuro pulls himself back as well, and he can see that in between the area where their faces meet eye to eye — sits Koppe, Nazuna's pet bunny.
"KOPPE?!" Nazuna is shocked, but his bunny remains unnerved, turning his head to look at his papa with an innocent gaze and nose twitching curiously.
"Yer rabbit really likes us, huh…?" Kuro laughs nonchalantly, but he is pretty sure by now that his rabbit is sort of aware of what's going on. The thought of Nazuna's bunny hopping towards them when he's about to witness some display of affection between his papa and Kuro…it's a little silly.
The blonde opens his mouth and looks like he is about to say something, but a sigh comes out of him. Nazuna reaches out for his bunny once more, and instead of putting him down and letting him go away, he keeps him close to his chest with a pout on his face.
"Mmm…Koppe, I know you wanna be with Papa but you gotta listen to me, okay?" Nazuna scolds him, still pouting but he's now patting his head as well. Kuro smiles to himself, seeing that his boyfriend can never be harsh on his pet. "I guess you can stay now…that's fine, right, Kuro-chin?"
Nazuna looks up at Kuro and he beams at the blonde, knowing his answer.
"'Course he can stay, Nito." Kuro pulls Nazuna close and he presses his lips on Nazuna's forehead. "I'm sure he won't mind us like this~"
"K-Kuro-chin!" Nazuna blushes immensely, not expecting the forehead kiss. But he isn't pushing Kuro away either, meaning that he liked it and probably wants more.
Kuro can see from the corner of his eye that the rabbit is now staring very intensely at him. The taller boy couldn't help but grin a little seeing it.
Koppe may have gotten what he wanted, but Kuro won this round.
