Beauyasha Week Day 6 | Lionett-Nydoorin

Notes:

Day Six: Return of the write on day.

Lets be honest a lot of us probably saw that moment in episode 50 of Campaign 3 and thought 'oh, they've definitely done that at least a few times regardless of if they were actually married/engaged yet.'
so I decide to write the start of that.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

It was by all accounts a very stupid idea - sometimes though those were the ones to go for; like wanting a ragged old robe from a crumbling tower and as a result, you brought it down upon yourself.

It did make a very nice house robe for the evenings though once they got it repaired.

“Do you really think that is a good idea, Jester?”

Yasha sat beside her blue friend on the bench she’d made not but a few weeks prior and worried nervously at what the Tiefling had just suggested to her.

“It’s just – well it’ll be a very big deal for her if she hears that; I know she’s been hesitant to ask me about it cause doesn’t know how I’ll react to it – but for me to just go and say it before we’ve even really discussed it… I don’t know.”

The tray of cupcakes that’d been sitting beside them had quickly been forgotten as their conversations had drifted to the topic of her and Beau’s relationship.

~~~
It was coming up to the three year anniversary of their fateful night in the tower, the mutually decided upon starting point for their relationship and so far neither of them had drifted the topic of actually getting marriage to one another yet – one person wanting not to rush their time together and have a chance to savour what she didn’t get to have before and the other silently terrified of being the one to take that step away from the other – leaving the situation up to Yasha to determine when the time would come ultimately.
But she wanted her to be able to make that choice as well and so it came about today,
“You should just do it when she introduces herself; ‘I’m the super badass Beauregard Lionett’ – and then you just add the ‘Nydoorin’ on the end of it.” She devised excitedly, her tail smacking into the tree branch beside her as it waved about.
~~~

With Beau currently at the Soul for the day, she had all the time in the world right now to mull it over

“It’s always been up to you, Yasha – we both she’ll wait a lifetime for when your ready to.” Jester reminded her as she stood in the doorway to her house.

She really would, Yasha knew she had been waiting on her to be comfortable enough with a new relationship before she’d made her move. Once Yasha had given her the poem, that was the assurance she needed.

“Thank you, Jester, I’ll think on it.”

It didn’t take long after Jester had left for her to make up her mind on it, she’d be meeting with Beau at the Soul within the next couple of hours, it would be the perfect time to test Jester’s idea of getting the idea In Beau’s head and allow her to fell more at home with the idea – and the name; “Beauregard Lionett-Nydoorin” she tested the name aloud, feeling her mouth curl into a smile almost immediately at the two names together.

She hadn’t really ever asked if Beau would want to drop her surname – of all the traumas attached to it, at this point, it was much more her own than that of a disgraced wine merchant. One day it would be known first and foremost for the greatest Expositor on Exandria; reclaimed and reforged, she looked to the emerald tattoo on her left arm, and beautiful.

Her girlfriend was waiting by the main desk by the time Yasha arrived, her face wore the markings of a stressful day, but they quickly faded when she caught sight of her, “Babe!”

“Hi baby, how was work,” Yasha cooed as she met her in an embrace.

Before she could answer though, they were met with an archivist flagging down her Expositor, Yasha’s ears pricking at her name – this was the moment if there ever was.

“-Nydoorin.”

“I’m sorry?” The Archivist paused in their approach, appropriately confused at what she meant.

“It’s Lionett-Nydoorin.” She repeated, watching the pair of blue eyes in her periphery widen in surprise.

They were taken a back for just a moment longer, before slipping back into form, “My apologies, I was unaware – congratulations to you both. Mrs Lionett-Nydoorin, I was told to ask you about the documents in relation to todays discussion with Expositor Dairon.”

For the most part Beau was taking it just as well – she was just hiding it well, but Yasha could see it; feel it in her pulse as she held her hand, “Yeah, well you know private arrangements. I left it in my office, far left corner.”

They left in the direction of the offices soon after - another congratulations on their lips as the pair slipped out the building in silence. They made it about ten paces outside the building before Beau finally broke the silence.

“So., I didn’t just like forget that we’d gotten engaged recently, right?” she asked as they kept on pace for home.

“No. I just wanted to see what your reaction would be.” Yasha sheepishly admitted, she could feel the pulse slowing now that they were alone, though she could feel her own now rising now that the deed had been done.

Beau sighed in relief beside her, and for a moment Yasha wondered if she’d miscalculated and Beau actually wasn’t interested in marriage at all yet. Before she could dwell on that idea though, she spoke up, “Thank fuck – if I’d somehow forgotten something like that, gods I’d be so pissed at myself.

“You’re okay with me just saying we were engaged?” she questioned.

Beau chuffed in response, “You kidding, you could say we’re a couple now mid-battle or something and I’d be all ‘absolutely, my gorgeous, sexy wife’,” she explained, “but what brought this on though?”

“Jester, earlier.” She revealed, promptly sending Beau into uproarious laughter. Soon enough they had to pause for a moment as Yasha found herself joining in soon, both women realising they’d both now been prompted into action by the Matchmaker, Jester Lavorre.

Once they’d calmed down enough to walk in a straight line again, she explained their discussion.

“So, should I go take a quick detour to the nearest jewellers just now or?” Beau finally asks as Yasha finishes the retelling of their conversation, she seriously considers it for at least a second before shaking her head with a smile.

“Maybe not today – it’s not that I don’t want to, I just want to savour this time first, you know? but you know, if you feel like you want too though…” she trails off letting beau decide for herself, this is as much her decision as Yasha’s and at the very least, she knows that she’s ready.

They’ve reached the house at this point, they can both spot Martina is inside her garden. Beau glances back over to, a devious grin forming on her face, “I mean, I kinda feel like we could get some milage out of this idea, don’t you. it’d be a shame to use it up already.”

Now there’s the women that sat on her shoulders and ruined a Xhorhasian foreman’s reputation.

Martina spots them approach, as usual she focuses on Yasha – as Beau was hoping she would.

“Good afternoon, Yasha – “

“-Lionett.” Beau blurts, “Fuck, forgot she doesn’t really bother say your surname.”

Martina looks at her curiously, then back to Yasha who just shrugs with a smile on her face, then back to Beau, “Hello as well, Beauregard, er Lionett-.”

“-Nydoorin.” Yasha quickly adds on, before swiftly falling into hysterics as the Halfling stares at them both, completely confused now.

“Okay, did the pair of you get engaged just now – if so, Congratulations the both of you.”

Beau’s fallen into the laughter too, shaking her head in amongst her bouts, “we- we’re just field testing it just now, geh-get people used accustomed to it.”

Beside her, Yasha manages to nod in affirmation to the claim, showing the hand that held the ring on the middle finger, the one gifted by Beau all the way back in the barbed fields of Xhorhas.

“I see, well all the best with that and let me know when you’re done with your… testing.” Martina noted, heading back inside.

What followed in the four months that followed, well most of the regulars both Beau and Yasha talked too were certainly thoroughly confused as the pair began their ‘field-testing’, correcting the fact that no, she was just Beauregard Lionett when a very confused Archivist the next day talked to her alone at the Soul or Pumat no.3’s argument with no.2 when Beau corrected them that Yasha was Nydoorin-Lionett.

Feeling bad after the fact in their Enchanter Friend’s case, they let the Pumat’s know soon after.

Despite the numerous attempts, Expositor Dairon never partook in their attempts to catch them erroneously, declaring to a disappointed Beau they would need to see the documentation first.

Once Jester found out that Yasha had followed through though, the trickery cleric quickly kicked the notch up, soon enough it was ‘Beauregard and Yasha Lionett-Nydoorin’, or ‘Yasha and Beauregard Nydoorin-Lionett’.

Naturally it was then only a matter of time before it reached public defacement, published tomes in Zadash, Rexxentrum and Port Damali suddenly finding squeezed between the letters ‘^-Nydoorin’ in publishing’s.

Soon enough, all games must come to an end.

It was only right then that they’d find that end in Rumblecusp, the four-year reunion of the Mighty Nein found the pair alone back at the top of the cliff within the Heavens Falls as the sun slowly set around them.

“I’ve always found this to be where we got together in retrospect, you know?” Beau reminisced in the arms of her girlfriend, a hum of agreement above her and her free hand slipped itself inside the pocket of her leggings.

“You asked me to catch you and I did. I’d became something new that day, restored, reborn, ready to truly live again.” She noted, an arm slipping from Beau’s side to reach within a pouch on her side.

They both knew what the other was looking for, it was time.

Separating, the pair collected their respective items; intricately carved wooden bands a mix of Yasha’s two tattoo with their flower patterns woven around, the other, spelled out in the same runes as her tattoos, the words ‘My Expositor’ surrounded with a collection of flowers Beau had found a particular fondness for over the years.

The sappy stuff could wait for when there was an audience, they already knew what the other thought.

Kneeling before her Girlfriend, Beau held out the band “Well, Yash – what do you say, be my Lionett?”

“That depends,” she asked, holding her own band out as she knelt as well, “Be my Nydoorin?”

“I will.”

“I will too.”

Smiling like fools in love, they stood and slipped the bands onto each other’s wrists – not permanent things but they could decide later if they wanted rings or something else.

Within moments, the twilight sky was lit up as Yasha spread her Aasimar wings. Quickly scooping Beau up into her arms, she took off into the sky above the large pool of water far below them – no need to test the roof of the cave a second time for what would be happening in about 45 seconds time.

Steading high in the sky, she looked at grinning Beau in her arms and smiled before she swiftly found a pair of lips on hers in a searing kiss.

“I love you, Yasha Nydoorin-Lionett.”

“I love you too, Beauregard Lionett-Nydoorin.”

Notes:

Completely stupid, sure - but hey, when did they ever start a chapter in their relationship normally?
What one would they use for documents or would they use both still, who knows - I like both.

Last day tomorrow - Day 7| Something?
Feedback, Kudo's and other comments are greatly appreciated.
