divorced for three years, stede has been rebuilding his life, bit by bit. now a tailor with his own (small) business, he's functionally started his life over— complete with his very own friend [with benefits], ed teach.
ed used to run a bar and grill, but it took all his time and energy. he sold the place so he could use the money and live his life the way he wanted to. problem is, he's still figuring out just exactly he wants to do and who he wants to be.
after their arrangement leads to an accidental pregnancy, stede and ed have to navigate their relationship backwards, prepare for a baby they didn't expect, and fall in love while they figure out how to fit their two lives together into one in time to become a family.
