Chapter Text
…well, this was unexpected.
When the Tortuga’s sensors started going haywire, she’d expected something like a critical system failure and a long, painful panic fueled process to get everything back online before they suffocated.
But then the ship jerked, the engine whined and they were dropped into…not quite a hyperspace lane but the visual was close, except it was in shades of green instead of blue and white.
Chula blinked, watching the colorful streaks of light for a moment before turning to her passenger.
Leonardo looked just as dumbfounded as she felt, eyes flicking from the viewport, to her and then back again, “Issss…this normal?”
“Nope,” Chula started tapping buttons and flipping switches, trying to run scans, activate sensors, at least try and get the steering up and under her control again. But everything had been hijacked, operating like normal but without any of her input.
It made the fur along her spine stand on end. She really didn’t like people messing with her toys, “Looks like we’re along for the ride until…whatever this is spits us back out.”
“Excuse me?” Leo stood, hands clenching and releasing. “Can’t you just, i don’t know, override the system? Reboot it?”
“Normally I would but right now we’re basically flying at the speed of light and doing anythin’ could end with…well, the ship explodin’.”
“..ah,” Leo quickly sat back down. “So, we’re getting kidnapped again?”
“Maybe,” Chula mumbled. “Could just be some random space stuff.” She doubted it, but Leo didn’t need to be freaked out any more.
“Seriously?”
“You see a lot of weird stuff when you planet jump long enough. A random hyper-lane hijackin’ wouldn’t even make my top ten.”
“This,” Leo gestured wildly outside. “How does this not make-”
The ship jerked again, groaning as the engines started to slow. Chula gripped the yoke, ready to pull up if they were suddenly dropped.
The greens around them started to waver, then glitched between multiple colors, reds, blues, purples, oranges, and yellows streaked by in an almost blinding kaleidoscope. Chula’s grip tightened as her systems started a landing sequence, struts descending as the tunnel around them started to fade and fizzle out-
And then they were on solid ground with a heavy ka-chunk , engine powering down and console going dark.
Both occupants sat for a moment, breathing twin sighs of relief that they weren’t dead.
Leo recovered first, standing again to scan outside while Chula tapped at the controls. She paused when Leo gasped and grabbed her arm, “Dude! Check it out!”
Chula sat up, peering down to where Leo was pointing. Her jaw dropped when she saw a mob of people.
They were a good distance away, thank Ashla the ship hadn’t been dropped in the center of the mob, but a few had already broken off from the main horde and were quickly moving closer. And when Chula flipped her scope down for a better look, her jaw dropped further when she saw the majority of the group was comprised of turtles.
Young, bipedal, color coordinated mutant turtles. And a good number of them looked a lot like Leo…hell, a lot looked exactly like Leo.
“Hey, what’s that say,” Leo grabbed the sides of Chula’s helmet, tilting it until her field of view was taken up by a banner.
She frowned, adjusted the scope, “TMNT-Crossover-Polls.”
“Crossover polls?” Leo frowned. “The heck is that supposed to mean?”
Chula shrugged, standing as she flipped her scope back up and turned to Leo.
Only to pause once again when she saw a new accessory on his plastron. A round sticker was peeking out from under his cowl and, when she pushed the fabric out of the way, she saw it read ‘Lone Hunter and Turtle’.
Leo gasped, smacking his hand to her chestplate, “Hey! When did you get that?”
Chula looked down to see there was a matching sticker on her armor, “...this is now on my top ten list.”
Leo chuckled, “Yeah. Maybe one of the people down there knows what’s going on?”
“Only one way to find out,” Chula stated, moving quickly to the bridge ladder and towards the ramp.
She had a feeling this was going to turn into another weird and wild adventure.
