Summary
Jean has long since made her peace with never truly understanding Kaeya Alberich. Even so, she trusts Kaeya implicitly, and Kaeya returns that trust with a single-minded dedication to Mondstadt. And nowhere is this shared trust more on display than when he's let off the leash - to work under cover of night, watched only by the winds, putting down problems in the Ordo before they ever rise to Jean's level of notice.
This is one such time.

“I want to know what you look like when you come undone,” Albedo says.
Kaeya shudders.
“Is that so?” he rasps.
“Yes,” Albedo says. “I want to see what happens when you stop pretending to be invincible.”
Kaeya laughs. It’s breathless. Unsteady. “Darling, I’ve never been invincible. I’ve just been very, very good at misdirection.”
“Then don’t misdirect,” Albedo says, fingers drifting again—closer now. Still not touching where Kaeya wants, but God, it’s unbearable. “Be honest.”
Kaeya tilts his head back. “Honesty is terrifying.”
“So is desire,” Albedo murmurs. “But you’ve let me have both, haven’t you?”
His fingers curl. Just slightly. Paint smears over the edge of Kaeya’s hipbone.
Or, Kaeya agrees to pose for Albedo, but becomes the one painted in gold, in reverence, in oil and longing.

Kaeya Ragnvindr was not a name that would be forgotten quickly. A beloved knight, an adored younger brother, and a quiet and caring lover, he left his mark on everyone on Mondstadt who loved him. And he loved them in return, that much was never in question. That was why his disappearance, so soon after his father's death, left the City of Freedom with an even bigger hole in their souls to try and fill.
