Work Text:

The bell over the bar's door chimed, signaling a new arrival. The bot behind the counter looked up lazily and grinned at what he saw.

Two mechs, a polythexian and one he didn't recognize, but seemingly a mix between a praxian and some colony world, stood in the doorway. He couldn't help but note that both were, at least by his standards and if he knew anything about the patrons, most likely by most people's inside, fairly attractive.

The polythexian, rather small, with the signature black overhelm and two sensory horns on top, looked around the establishment. Their plating was white, with black, orange and red details, mostly on his chassis, arms and thighs. An orange visor adored their face, hiding their optics from the world. They looked around the bar, finally stopping on one of the patrons sitting by the counter. They smirked, revealing sharp, pointy denta and lightly elbowed their companion, pointing at the patron.

Their companion, slightly taller than them, with a lighter red for plating with little black details, rolled their optics and snarkly replies. The polythexian laughed and with a little more prompting, finally got a huff out of their companion who then gave them a black card from seemingly nowhere, most likely previously hidden in their subspace. The polythexian cheered, clapped their red companion on the back and skipped to the bar, the red mech huffing again, though more fondly at their companion's actions.

“Two Emburyian coctails, please!” The smaller mech exclaimed with cheer, the signature polyhexian accent present with their glyphs, yet surprisingly pleasant to the audials despite the mech's rather deep, a little scratchy voice. They then turned to their companion, standing a little behind them with their arms on their chest. “Ya want anything, Dino?”

“A classic magnesium-highgrade with two shots of potassium, please” The now named Dino replied, their voice lighter, more melodic, normally associated with the upper class. The bartender snorted at the thought. A noble? Here, in this small, trashy wall bar in some random Kaonian backstreet? Yeah right.

“Damn, magnesium and potassium? That's basically halfway to the classic seeker blend! Didn't take ya for a bot who liked the heavier stuff.”

Dino snorted, his lipplates curling up into a smirk.

“You don't know a lot about me, Meister.” He said and finally sat beside the Polythexian, now Meister. He thought for a moment before adding “Add some bismuth flakes too, please. I'm in the mood for something sweet tonight.”

The bartender quickly wrote down both of their orders, adding the bismuth flakes to Dino's.

“Coming right up.” He said as he turned around, bringing out the necessary ingredients and mixing them up. He couldn't help himself but show off some of his bartending skills, throwing and catching various bottles before finally pouring the finished drinks. When he went for the bismuth flakes, he noticed the box was empty.

“Seems like we're out of bismuth flakes. Don't worry, I'll bring some out from the back. Wait a nanoclick.” He said and turned around to go retrieve the missing ingredient.

Dino and Meister watched as the bartender disappeared behind the door and finally let out an ex-vent of relief when they heard the doors close.

“Primus, I thought he'd never finish. What in the pit was the show for?” Asked Dino, rolling his optics.

“Aw, don't be like that 'raj! It means even in our disguises, we're still mech magnets.” Meister said in a sing-song voice in a teasing manner, which only got him a huff from his companion.

:It's Dino , and besides, I'd much prefer to not be the center of attention in the middle of an undercover mission, Jazz!: He hissed through their private comms, not risking saying those words out loud.

Jazz huffed affectionately and pat Mirage on the back. His gaze averted back up as he heard the bartender coming back, now holding a box filled with the previously missing bismuth flakes.

He quickly took a small spoon and scooped a fair amount before sprinkling them on top of Mirage's awaiting order. He smiled, pleased with himself before finally sliding the drink to Mirage, soon followed by the two ordered by Jazz.

“There you go! Pleasure working for you.” He did a quick bow before scurrying away to some other patrons. Jazz laughed and Mirage only rolled his optics.

“Well, I don't know about cha, but I'm going to have a little talk with our target. You keep an eye around, see if anything's outta the ordinary. Good luck!” And with those words Jazz, now back to Meister, stood up with his drinks and went his merry way towards their target, still sitting obliviously at their seat.

He relaxed his body, quickly changing into his persona as he got closer to the unsuspecting mech. He had to play his part convincing enough, or this whole thing would fall apart.

“Well, well, well, what's a handsome mech like yourself sitting all alone, ey?” Meister asked, standing next to the mech. He jumped a bit, and looked around for a moment, clearly already a little overcharged, his just a bit too bright optics a clear giveaway of his current state.. Great , Meister thought as he made sure to hide his smirk as something more sly rather than dangerous.

“Oh uh, are- are you talking to me?” The mech asked, a bit out of it, though still coherent enough to understand and talk.

“Do you see any other pretty mech sittin' all alone?” Meister laughed a bit, making sure to let some of his 'interest' slip through his EM field. The mech shuddered, clearly sensing it.

Meister placed both drinks on the table before turning back around to the mech, making sure to sway his hips as he did, and looked at the mech. He made sure to give a believable show, biting his lower lipplates as he seemingly looked the mech up and down, who now looked at him, a little intimidated but very into it, if his flaring field was anything to go by.

Perfect , Jazz thought, as he bent forward and touched the mech's chassis seductively. Just a little push in the right direction, and he'll sing me everythin' like a top opera performer!

“Well, you seem to like this so far. Why don't we go a little more... private?” Jazz whispered the last word directly into the mech's audials, making him give another full frame shudder.

“Yes, yeah- Let's do that.” The mech said as he stood up on shaky legs, revealing his previously hidden decepticon insignia on his upper arm, previously covered by his head on his arm. Meister's grin turned predatory, revealing sharp dentae, as he took his hand, intertwining their fingers as he led him to the backdoor, their untouched drinks now forgotten on the table.

Mirage could only roll his optics yet again as he watched the two bots leave, he himself stuck as the bartender tried again and again to ask him for his comm. number.

He let out a sigh as he half-listened to the bartender ramble on about his job, stuck at his position until Jazz gave him a signal.

He couldn't stop the groan as he felt the signature sound of blocking comms, also the signal amongst the Special Ops that usually meant “don't interrupt”, especially while on missions.

He brought his drink to his intake and took a big sip, enjoying the pleasant burning sensation it left in his intake-lines. He took another in-vent, the bartender's ramblings becoming pleasant background nice as he observed the bar around him.

This is going to be a long dark-cycle.

Notes:

Did I really just use a random bartender as a way to project my feelings towards Mirage? ...Maybe.
Anyways, while Day 3 was definitely my favorite prompt, this, alongside day 5 is definitely the one I had the most fun writing. Just- The thought of all the shenanigans Jazz & Mirage would get up to while undercover, it's so funny. Also, the idea of using Meister and Dino as undercover names just came to me randomly and really stuck, and this was the perfect opportunity to use it!
