Aizawa's Problem Children

Summary:

Some old habits die hard. Even though its been two years, Hizashi still sits on the couch and waits for Shouta to get home from patrol. Aizawa Shouta is loved by his students far more than he realizes. He would do anything to protect them even if they do make him regret his decision to become a teacher at times.

He wasn't sure when 1-A become more than just his students. He wasn't sure when they started to call him "Dad" and "Dadzawa", or when he realised they were coming to him with problems they really should have gone to their parents with. He didn't care about the Problem Children. Really he didn't.

Chapter 1: He's Finally Home

Summary:

Some old habits die hard. Even though its been two years, Hizashi still sits on the couch and waits for Shouta to get home from patrol. He's been doing it for so long its habit at this point even if he eventually remembers Shouta isn't coming home.

At least that's what he thought until he heard the front door creak open and a thump of someone hitting the wall in the entry way as they took off their shoes.

Notes:

Good Morning Lovelies. This story was inspired by Walkingonthebrinkofdeath's most recent tiktok video. There will be more chapters. Normally I would have plained out the rest of the chapters before posting them but I don't with this one. This story is, however my 72 MHA story.

I do have several other MHA stories I intend on posting, though they are multi-chapter stories and I want to get several chapters finished before I post them so I can post on a schdule like I did with Once Royal.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Hizashi sighed as he sat down. He glanced at the time. Shouta would be home soon. He paused, closing his eyes, looking at the ceiling. Shouta hadn't been home in two years. They weren't sure why or what happened. He just hadn't come home one night.

It was a little suspicious that it happened after his Hell Class graduated. He had completely disappeared. They hadn't been able to find him. Hizashi and the rest of the Hell Class knew something had happened as did the rest of UA's Staff but they had no concrete evidence.

They hadn't stopped looking despite everything. Eri still asked for Shouta even after two years, everyone was surprised the little girl still remebered the Erasure Hero. Of course she remembered, Hizashi and 3-A made sure she remembered Shouta.

Hizashi was on high alert when the front door creaked open, whoever it was stumbled and hit the wall as they took off their shoes. Hizashi was about toget up when the person stepped into the living room.

“Hey Zashi, sorry I’m late.” Hizashi's legs gave out, he collapsed back onto the couch, he somehow managed to get up, it took a few seconds before he was able to stand again without collapsing. He rushed over to Shouta and pulled him into a tight hug.

He didn't realise he was crying until Shouta wiped his tears away, a worried look on his face. He looked as young as he had the day he had diappeared. He was a little bruised and battered but he was alive.

“You're alive.” Shouta blinked at him, clearly confused.

Shouta was concerned when he stepped into his home, he was a little late getting back. He stumbled over Eri's shoes, hitting the wall as he took off his shoes. He was going to hang up his scars on the hook but decided not to bother. He was concerned when he stepped into the living room, Zashi was standing in front of the couch, his legs giving out as soon as he saw Shouta.

He nearly tripped over his feet as he ran up to Shouta and hugged him tightly. Zashi was was crying, he looked relieved. He was only a few minutes late, there shouldn't have been any reason for Hizashi to think he was dead.

“What are you talking about Zashi?” Shouta asked, concerned when Hizashi just shook his head and hugged him tightly. Shouta looked up when the doors down the hall opened, Eri and Hitoshi likely getting up to see what the racket was. They both looked older and taller. They both started to cry when they saw him.

Shouta nearly lost balance when Eri slammed into his chest gods he didn’t remember her being that tall. Hitoshi was nearly eye level with him. He felt like something was missing and wished someone would please explain what was going on. Hitoshi had his fingers wrapped in his scarf and didn’t look like he was going to let go anytime soon.

“You’ve been gone for two years Sho.” Hizashi whispered, pulling back to stare at his husband, Shouta blinked down at the blonde and looked at his student and adopted daughter in confusion, well that explained that chance in height.

“...I got caught up fighting a villain. Managed to get them tied up and called Naomasa to let him know. They must have used their quirk on me.” Shouta said that was the only thing that made sense. He could remember giving Naomasa a verbal report then something warm washing over him.

Hizashi, Eri and Hitoshi shared a look, that wasn’t the strangest quirk they had heard of. At least they knew why the ‘villain’ had told them they would see Eraserhead soon. He hadn’t meant to use his quirk, it had just happened when he was struggling.

Hitoshi pulled out his phone and called his siblings and his boyfriend. He knew they wouldn’t mind when they heard the news. They had missed their Dad so much over the last two years, they hadn’t realized just how much Shouta did for them until he wasn’t there anymore. At least it had happened after they had graduated.

He didn’t think they would have been able to manage if he had disappeared during their last year at school.

You had better have a good reason for calling Eyebags.” Bakugo yelled, he sounded groggy, Hitoshi quickly added the rest of his classmates and his boyfriend to the call along with the Principal, Yagi and Naomasa.

“He’s back.” Was all Hitoshi could choke out. Bakugo stopped yelling. You could have heard a pin drop with how quiet the line had gone at his words.

A-are you saying Zawa’s back?” Izuku asked, his voice trembling, Hitoshi closed his eyes, leaning against his father and breathing in the familiar scent he thought he would never smell again. His scent had faded from the capture weapon Hitoshi had the jacket Eri always wore.

Shouta-kun is back?” Nedzu asked, his voice sounded only a little shaky. Hitoshi couldn’t help but laugh, even though it was choked and he was crying, Shouta’s arm wrapping around his shoulders made him cry even harder.

"He is. The villain he was fighting apparently had some sort of time quirk. Didn’t even know it had been two years.” Hizashi was amazing, his voice wasn’t shaking. He couldn’t describe how relieved he was to have his husband back. He accepted the facetime video. Everyone was there.

Hitoshi held up his phone for they could see Shouta. He looked a little puzzled.

Good to have you back, Eraser. We’ve missed you.” Naomasa started. Shouta blinking, he looked puzzled, looking at each of his students with a very puzzled look on his face. Like he didn’t understand why they were relieved.

“You missed me?” Shouta asked, Hizashi frowned at his husband. Had he thought they wouldn’t miss him. He had been such a big part of their lives for the better part of three years. Of course they missed him.

“Of course they did Sho.” Did Shouta still think people outside of Hizashi didn’t care about him or would miss him if he went missing. He had been working on Shouta’s self-esteem. He looked down at Hitoshi's phone and added one more person to the group call.

You made a big impact on the kids Sho. They’re amazing if crazy and unconventional heroes who I swear are trying to give us a heart attack regularly. How did you put up with them for three years?” Oboro asked. Shouta was staring at Hitoshi’s phone with wide eyes.

We managed to get him back. He can still use Kurogiri’s quirk and Cloud. He still has some memory problems but not anything serious.” Hizashi knew Oboro would be over in the morning and Shouta would end up hugging the stuffing out of him.

He had changed after Oboro had died and then they had found him again but didn’t remember them. After Shouta had disappeared, Hizashi and the rest of the Hell Class had put more effort into getting Oboro back. It was slow going but they eventually managed it.
