Chapter 1: Beginning of our companionship

Chapter Text

Although Ganon wasn't one to leave Gerudo town often, much for obvious reasons. This time however was a bit different, he wanted to see what the Hylian princess had to offer, again. Though he wasn’t a fan of how some hylians would eye Gerudo females for being healthy, tall, and strong. But that was for another day, So off he went passing stable to stable, town through town on horseback. Of course, he had been accompanied by four Gerudo guards one Gerudo medic, and one Gerudo translator in case of an emergency. It would take at least three to five days to make it to the palace or to simply be on hylian soil. It would take longer considering that they had to stop for breaks, mostly for the horses to rest because of the weight they had carried all day.

It was currently day two of heading towards Hylian ground. Stopping for a quick food break. Still currently dry, with no green ground. Ganon was sitting on the ground chewing on an apple he had stolen from one of the guards when she wasn't looking.

Sir Ganon!,” a Gerudo guard had called out. Forcing Ganon to stop from spacing out and chewing on his apple.

“You’re majesty we have a problem, one of the horses fell ill, it must have been ill when we had gotten it from the trader back home,” the guard proceeded to tell Ganon.

“With that said, I don't think we can make it much longer considering that we are down one horse,” she said as she looked at Ganon straight into his eyes. Probably waiting for what Ganon had to say.

“Can’t we just share one horse?” Ganon asks if a horse should be able to carry more than one person, right?

“I’m afraid we cannot, our build is much more different than that of a Hylian, we are much more than a horse can carry.” The guard talks, desperately waiting for another solution.

We’ll wait then, I'm sure they won't mind us being two days late or so,” Ganon said, going back to eating his apple and dazing off.

“Yes sir, I’ll go inform the others,” the guard soon walks off in the camp's direction.

SHUFFLE

Ganon looks up from where he was originally looking from. He was sure he had heard something move, should he go back to camp. No, what if it was just a desert rabbit. It's fine. He proceeds with his apple until he hears the shuffle again.

Okay…. This is getting sort of scary. Ganon shuffles in his robes a bit until he is on his feet. Looking around his surroundings. Was it a bad decision to separate from camp? He did leave camp. But it wasn’t too far from where he would get lost.

SNAP

Who goes there!” Ganon grabs onto the hilt of his sword, ready for if he needs to defend himself from any danger. He sees a dark pinkish purplish hair popping out from a shrub.

You, come out from that shrub and identify yourself,” Ganon said, stepping back from his original place.

Slowly emerged a person, a man. Though his hair was not that pinkish-purplish color. He had messy blonde hair, and strange drawings on his body. Poor clothing…. A BARBARIAN!

“You! What do you want?!” Ganon said, being more on high alert than ever. Ganon has heard a few Gerudo people talking about how barbarians are bloodthirsty people. How they get their hands on whatever they want. And how aggressive and violent they could be.

Standing on high alert, waiting for what is coming next. Though nothing did, the barbarian just stood, staring at him. Ganon looks at the barbarian again, analyzing his build, and what he had on him. But it was nothing much. Though he does see that the barbarian had been carrying a bundle of apples with him, seeing that they were now on the ground next to him.

‘He won’t possibly throw an apple at me, that's foolish…’

THUMP

Ah, how foolish Ganon was… the barbarian had thrown an apple to his temple. Ganon was lucky enough to have closed his eyes in the process, avoiding the apple hitting them.

When Ganon opens his eyes, he sees that the barbarian has not moved from his place. Was he waiting for something? But what could it be…

A possibility had popped up in Ganon's head, though he was positive it wasn't a good idea. He decided to try it anyway.

Ganon relaxes himself in front of the barbarian and proceeds to point at himself, then towards the barbarian.

‘Does he want me to get close to him???’

Ganon was sure that was the case, the barbarian had nodded his head in response. then pointed at the apple he had thrown at Ganon.

‘He wants me to give him the apple? But wasn’t it he who threw it at me!’

Without much protest Ganon had crouched down to retrieve the apple and pointed at himself then at the barbarian again. The barbarian proceeds to nod again, without thinking much Ganon had thrown the apple back at the barbarian. Only to see the barbarians' disappointed face.

the barbarian looks down at the apple, and back at his hands stuffed with apples, then to Ganon.

‘Right… i forgot’

Ganon steps forward with caution. Hoping that he won't be getting showered with apples. He moves more confidently as the barbarian didn’t seem interested in hurting him. Much to his pleasure.

Ganon grabs the apple, then puts the apple on the pile of apples the barbarian has. Though when he was about to, the barbarian pulled back. Not allowing him to put the apple in place.

This time, Ganon would gladly say that he is quite puzzled. What should he do? What does the barbarian want him to do? It doesn’t take long until he finds out what the barbarian wants.

‘Oh, he wants me to hold the apples for him’

Ganon stretched out his arms, mimicking a basket. Not a second after his hands get filled with apples. Ganon asks himself why a barbarian would need this many apples. They would surely brown if not eaten on time.

Without question, the barbarian starts to walk. Only pausing when Ganon didn’t follow him. And so, this is how Ganon, the king of the gerudo, became a basket for a mere barbarian.

The barbarian stuffed mushrooms, plants, and other random stuff that Ganon didn’t know were even available in gerudo land on his hands. The barbarian sometimes would take breaks by drawing small pictures on the ground. Causing Ganon to think that the barbarian didn’t care if Ganon was a person, and was a mere holding bag.

After some time, in which Ganon hoped it wasn’t long. The barbarian stopped at a campsite, though Ganon wouldn’t call it a campsite. It was just some hay on the ground, loads of it. Did barbarians eat hay? Though that thought was quickly dismissed when Ganon heard trots in the distance.

Horses? Were there horses in gerudo?

Ganon eyes the barbarian, and soon the herd of horses trotting over to the barbarian. Could Ganon ask, no, the barbarian probably didn’t understand the gerudo language. Holy shit, is that a fucking gaint??? Ganon saw a big horse with a red main lead the other horses towards the barbarian.

The barbarian caught a whim of Ganon's shocked face and cackled, making Ganon face him again. The barbarian pointed at the stuff Ganon had, and pointed at the hay on the ground. Ganon somewhat understood and placed all the things on the hay.

TROT

The big horse Ganon saw was right above him. Trying his best not to seem scared because, well, that horse was huge. He moved to the side without thinking. He eyed the barbarian again.

‘Well, here goes nothing.’

Ganon steps to the barbarian, causing the barbarian to look at him. Ganon points at the herd of horses then at him. He tried to speak hylian because well, the barbarian looked like a hylian. Just with slightly more pointed ears than a regular hylian.

“Horse,” Ganon points at the herd “me,” he points at himself. “Give?” Although Ganon wasn't sure if he had pronounced them right. He wasn’t one to talk another idiom other than gerudo, usually always having a gerudo translate for him. Though he's defeated when the hylian looks confused, giving him a ‘what the hell are you saying’ face.

‘Okay, one more time, but in gerudo’

Horse, me, borrow,” Ganon asks, being surprised that the barbarian had understood him and nodded quite happily. Although Ganon looks quite defeated when the barbarian had given him the big horse instead of a normal one.

‘Ah’

Is all Ganon can voice out. The barbarian looks at him and realizes quickly. He goes up to one of the normal sized horses, taps their back, and makes an X with his hands.

‘You can’t ride these ones’

Ah, so they are non-rideable wild horses?” Ganon asks, completely forgetting that the barbarian might not understand him. But on his own the barbarian has given him a thumbs up in response.

So you understand gerudo!” Ganon said, being surprised because it is quite hard to learn gerudo if you weren’t raised by them. Having heard the rumors of the princess trying to learn gerudo but failing miserably and had dropped the language all together.

Ganon is met with a head shake, the barbarian had shook his head as a no. Although Ganon didn’t want to give up.

So, you understand a bit of it,” Ganon questioned, being quite pleased that the barbarian nodded his head as a yes.

Ganon seemed to have lost track of time, only being reminded when the barbarian had looked up at the setting sky. Ganon feels quite comfortable speaking to the barbarian, as the barbarian didn’t seem to pose a threat to Ganon. He thought that the barbarian had been quite nice despite making him his own basket.

I should get going. The guards are probably worrying,” Ganon said, looking back down at the barbarian that had been staring at him. The barbarian smiles, running off to a large rock and climbing it. The barbarian whistles, causing the big horse to position himself right in front of the rock, allowing the barbarian to climb on top of it. It doesn’t take long until the barbarian looks at Ganon and taps on the horse's back, signaling it as a ‘get on’.

Ganon doesn’t question it. Allowing himself to walk over to the rock and get on top of the horse as well. As soon as he got on the horse started to run towards the direction the barbarian had led him. Going back to camp. Ganon was quite started when the horse began to move, and the height difference didn’t make it any better.

Ganon takes his time admiring the sunset, it makes the desert look beautiful. Along with all the rocks turning into a pretty color. Ganon almost forgets about the big horse he's on.

It doesn’t take long until they make it back to camp. Ganon hopes for the best and taps on the barbarian shoulder.

You can stop here, I’ll go inform the others,”

The barbarian seems to understand the ‘stop’ and ‘others’ part so he stops. Ganon tries his best to not fall off the horse when getting down. When Ganon gets down from the horse, he heads to camp where he sees a lit torch being held by a gerudo guard. The guard seems to notice Ganon and runs up to him carefully, not letting the lit torch run out.

Sir Ganon! Thank heavens. We thought you may have been kidnapped.” The guard yells out, stopping when she was in front of the young gerudo king.

Where were you? Everyone in camp was on a look out for you,” another guard that has previously told Ganon about the horse problem steps forward.

Ah, well, I was helping someone, ‘a barbarian to be exact’ and they had agreed to lend us a horse for our trip.” Ganon replies back, earning surprised looks.

But I thought we were the only ones out here. The next stable isn't anywhere near here…” one of the guards asked, completely puzzled.

Well, it doesn’t matter, what matters is that our horse problem is solved. So the person who had the ill horse can take my horse” Ganon says to the guards. Again earning a few gasps.

But sir…”

Besides, I don't think anyone can ride this particular horse. I wasn’t the one leading the horse either.” Ganon replies. Color drained from his face as he remembered what he had ridden.

What do you mean? Can we see this horse? Besides, we have to make sure the horse is well. We don’t want another incident. Plus, how many rupees did it cost you,” one of the guards asks, being on high alert. Ganon tries to remember each one of those questions so that he can answer them.

One, it didn’t cost me much. I just had to carry a few things…” Ganon answers. All of a sudden his arms go numb remembering what he had to carry.

Sir… it is nice of you to help someone. But you shouldn’t be that open to strangers. Especially around here.” The guard with the spear shakes her head, showing some disappointment and disbelief.

Don't do that… I wouldn’t follow a complete stranger ‘I did’ without knowing what they could do…” Ganon replies, sighing in response.

Right, don't be that foolish. The king isn't that dumb,” the gerudo with a Scimitar walks forward to the three gerudos.

Hey, what do you mean ‘dumb?’,” Ganon asks, showing signs that he is clearly offended.

Oh nothing, but we aren’t done. Although i do trust that you didn’t follow some random person instantly being seduced by the words ‘oh i have a free horse i can lend you’ what i do want to know is, where is this horse you speak of, don’t tell me you got scammed again,” the gerudo with the scimitar asked, having her hand on her hip showing a quite entertained face with a raised eyebrow.

What! Nothing happened like that! Don't be foolish,” Ganon replied, trying to desperately control his reddening face.

And the horse is over there! I’ll show you it,” Ganon said, finally controlling his reddened face. Pointing towards the road ahead.

Well your majesty, let’s see if this horse ran off to its owner,” the gerudo with the scimitar barked quite loudly, earning small laughters and smirks.

‘Tch’

Ganon and the gerudo guard had been walking upon the road ahead. The more they do the more Ganon looks depressed and sadden and the more the gerudo guards suppressed her laughter.

‘Huh, did he really leave?!’ Ganon thinks to himself. Crying internally, ‘but he seems like a person who wouldn’t do that.’ Ganon continues

So your grace, where is this supposed horse you speak of?” The guard questions, clearly having an amused tone to her voice.

I'm positive that it’s over here,” Ganon strongly says, not backing down. They continue walking down the road until Ganon stops that familiar dark pinkish purplish fuzz.

Without noticing the gerudo guard slow down, Ganon is more happily speed walking towards the barbarian. When Ganon is in front of the sitting barbarian he speaks.

I’m back, my guard wants to see the horse if you don’t mind.” Ganon states, getting a surprised look from the barbarian.

Ganon gets startled when he hears a loud cackle behind him. Coming from none other than the guard.

I see that it’s your turn to finally meet this little fox,” the gerudo guard states. Having her arms more than happily crossed, with her hips tilted.

The barbarian quickly stands up and starts walking towards her, the guard not getting surprised or startled when the barbarian grabs ahold of her shield, examining it and smiling happily after seeing his reflection.

Ganon feels out of place, “so… am I missing something here?”— Ganon asks, being confused as to why his guard is so familiar with a barbarian. —“Do you two have some history together?” Ganon continues. Desperately waiting for answers.

It’s an awkward silence until his guard says, “when i was injured by some yiga clan master, although not seriously, this fox had come to my aid.”— The guard answers, not looking up from the fascinated barbarian. —“I am in great debt to this one.” She continues before looking up at Ganon.

Gah! You won’t get away from your punishment.” she said, as she laid on the desert floor, gripping onto her bleeding wound.

“I’ve heard stories about you, how you 're unstoppable, but it seems like I was wrong. This was fun while it lasted,” the yiga clan master barked out loud as he held his windblade high, getting ready to end her life.

Although she didn’t want to give up, she didn’t know how to stop it. She was quite depressed that this was going to be her last day. Dying by some yiga clan master.

She grips her scimitar harder than ever, getting ready to give the yiga clan master a final blow, but that final blow never came as something or someone had hit the back of the yiga clans masters head with a sword which looked worn out.

“What the!” The yiga clan master yelled out, fuming as he turned around to see what had hit him.

Though that was not a good idea as he was met with flaming eyes, and arms that wrapped around his neck, choking him. When he tried to rip away the arms, the grip came back stronger than ever.

Eventually leading to the guard giving him his actual last final blow before ending his life.

As soon as the yiga clan master fell on the floor, she was met with blue eyes. Looking at her, like they had not just witnessed death. Literally in their hands.

You—” the guard said, getting surprised when she saw the same man who had someone die in their hands, stealing from the dead person. Grabbing the windblade that had injured her and putting it on his back.

Chuckle

I am in great debt to you. Please come back when you have something to request or need my assistance. Urbosa is all you need to say in front of the town gate.” Urbosa states, looking down at the barbarian that had saved her life.

Although she is sure that the small man had not understood her as he made a wildly confused expression on his face.

Ah, she guesses that she’ll be in debt forever.

Thank you, for saving my life,” this is what she thinks the man understands as he flashes a bright smile on his face. With his hands proudly on his hips.

Although she doesn’t have much on her, she gives him a small token of gratitude. Her worn out shield. She needed a new one anyway.

The barbarian happily takes what she had handed him. Examining his poorly reflected face that of which the shield reflected. Although he seems quite content with what he saw.

Urbosa almost misses the word he spills out. As she was too busy examining the happy man.

Link…”

She smiled upon hearing this.

Well then Link, may we pass paths again,” she smiles as the barbarian looks at her again, before running off after he sees an aid of gerudo guards running towards urbosa.

Not before he got a second look at urbosa. Getting helped by the other guards.

‘Urbosa’ Link smiles upon whispering the name under his breath.

As he too, is in debt to her. As she had given him a shield he could make use of.

And you never told me?” Ganon said, as he crossed his arms, mouth hanging open.

“I doubt that little brain of yours from before would be able to comprehend this amount of information.” Urbosa barks loudly. Having her shield put back on her waist by Link.

So he does have a name…” Ganon whispered. Barely being heard by Urbosa.

“I supposed he only said Link, so I'm pretty settled on calling him that,” Urbosa smiles. Ruffling Links hair making it more messier than it was.

But you call him fox.” Ganon said, having one eyebrow raised.

“I suppose, because he is one!” —Urbosa barked out loud once again. —“he comes and goes whenever he pleases! I'm surprised he had accompanied you all the way here,” she admits.

Well…”

A loud neigh came up from behind them. It was the humungus horse. It had been tapping its hoof impatiently as the two kept talking. Link had long gone back on the horse's back. Surprisingly, it looked like he had gone to sleep.

Hah! I guess he must have bothered him by our long conversation,” Urbosa said. Starting to walk back to camp.

Ganon was a bit hesitant to leave Link, but as soon as he started walking back to camp, urbosa yelled “don’t just leave him there! He trusts you more than he trusts me. He stayed with you for a reason!”

Urbosa flayed her arm up.

Ganon wasn’t sure how to lead such a gigantic horse, but the horse seemed to take the memo as it had started following him towards camp.

It doesn’t take long until they get to camp. The horse settles down on the ground, careful of not to wake up the man on their back.

So… Do I just leave him here?” Ganon said, not quite sure on what to do with the barbarian, Urbosa told him had taken a liking to him.

Hmm, I guess you’ll just have to figure that out on your own. Unless, you don't mind sharing a bed your grace,”

Ganon is fuming red from embarrassment. He stomps back into his tent as he hears urbosa's loud laughter. Although it quickly dies down after some other guard takes their turn to watch the campsite. Leaving Urbosa to her tent.

The morning sun rose once again. Waking up everyone from their slumber.

Ganon grumbled as he didn’t want to get up, but it was hard to go back to sleep when the sun's light had been passing through his tent and straight onto his face.

Ganon opened his eyes and stared at the top of the tent, or so he thought. A loud scream had abrupted as he saw Link's face close to his. Almost nose to nose. Another scream was heard when he saw the giant horse's head, inside his tent. If he wasn’t embarrassed, he would almost think that the horse was looking after the barbarian.

The guards had been startled by the sudden scream that was coming from the gerudo male's direction. Some guards had ran over to the noise while some had been held back to watch over the camp.

Before the guards could meet Ganon, He had got up quickly as he heard the footsteps of guards approaching. He got out of the tent quickly but carefully moved Link away from him.

Urbosa had been one of the guards that had ran over to the gerudo male. Wondering what could have caused such a bloody loud scream. But she also wondered what enemy would try to attack Ganon this time during the day. Although she thought it was smart, then again, bad timing.

Upon arriving at the scene she saw Ganon, a beetroot?? Ganon's face was redder than his hair. Her eyes shuffled to Link, who was quiet, and seemed confused about the situation as he kept blinking. Stunned? Before she knew it, Link seemed to have clicked something together as a grin smudged his face. Slightly cackling. Somewhat adorable.

Ah

Now she understood, “well, i hope we didn’t come at a bad time, your majesty.” Urbosa simply said, smirking a bit too.

Ganon's face had quickly scanned over to where the three gerudo guards were. Fuming. He didn’t know what to make of this situation. He’s never had someone that close to him. Ever. When did Link enter his tent? And why was he so close to Ganon?

“As much as I would love to continue to see this unfold, we do need to start moving,” Urbosa said, watching the sun, determining that it was now a good time to get up and move locations.

The gerudos started saddling up their horses, Ganon having free time since Link horse didn’t wear a saddle, nor did Ganon think there would be a big enough saddle for him.

Ganon stood under the shade along with the massive horse, having Link on his back once again. Ganon thinks the two are inseparable. Once in a while he would see Link looking at him intensely, like studying him. And Ganon couldn’t (didn’t want to) do anything about it. So he would pretend he could not see the boy staring at him.

Your Grace! We are all ready for our move on.” A gerudo guard said.

Right,” When Ganon turned around to see Link, he was quite confused on why Link was all of a sudden in a proper riding posture. Back straight, head lifted high. And as well as the horse who had been mimicking Link. Was Link copying the guards? Well, that is a sight to see.

Ganon wasted no time getting on the horse, adjusting himself as he was not used to riding a horse without a saddle, Or just a horse in general.

Ganon prays they have an incident while traveling, the more ruckus the more they would be late, and if they were too late. The princess would probably not want to continue the deal, or more so the king. Yes, Ganon had wanted to hear the princess out. But the more they traveled, the more he just wanted to go home. Although Urbosa would shame him for not taking a probably once in a lifetime situation.

He noticed the more they traveled, the more Link's “perfect posture” faltered. He was currently laying on the horse's neck. His arms dangling from the side. Ganon was also bored, so why not try to start a conversation that would probably be one-sided.

“Hey, are you bored?” Ganon said, although he thought Link might’ve just fallen asleep entirely until he saw one of his pointy ears twitch.

After a few seconds Link had propped himself right back up. Turning his head towards Ganon. Link smiled, and Ganon began to worry.

Loud horse trouts were heard as Link made the horse go faster, although it wasn’t that fast, it was able to manage a distance between the guards and them. Ganon has never held on to someone for dear life. He kept readjusting himself as he felt himself slipping a bit.

So how did it get to this?

While on the road they came close to a stable, they stopped for a bit so that the horses could have something to eat, and also letting the sick horse get a check up.

Urbosa said that they would reach to the next stable within some hours. That it will be easier to keep going so that they wouldn’t waste so much materials and rupees. That it was better to save rupees for future events. Such as if they needed more food and or are desperate for a place to stay.

Which led to…. Ganon was in charge of maneuvering the horse while Link was slumped on his back. Peacefully sleeping. Urbosa knew better than to make fun of the gerudo male incase Link woke up.

Seems like both had taken a liking to each other. But what did Link take a liking to for Ganon?”

It was nice to see the gerudo male be this lively again, he was mostly a shut in. Since it was Link, she didn’t mind the gerudo being friends with him. The other guards didn’t seem to bother with it either. Probably seeing Link as a non threat and how Ganon wasn’t bothered at all by the blonde. Urbosa can say that Link was now a part of their group.

Although she did get a good laugh at seeing Ganon be so nervous.
——-

They made it to the next stable, with Link having long been awake from his nap. Although he still had his head on Ganon's back.

The only time he had lifted his head up was when the stable owner asked if they wanted to saddle up the gigantic horse.

“What’d he say??

“He said if you wanted a saddle for the red maned horse.”

Oh,”

Ganon looked back at Link, who was staring at him. Completely forgetting what he wanted to ask. So he settled with a no.

Some stable workers were putting the horses into the stable, all except for one. Who prefered to be outside.

All the gerudos decided to sleep early so they could wake up early and get a move on. Which really would leave them at one through three more days until they would reach the kingdom of hylia.

Link decided to follow Ganon into his own room; he stopped when the stable owner asked if he wanted a separate room. He only gave the owner a confused face until Ganon intervened.

“Uh, he’ll stay in my room, we don’t have enough rupees for more…” Ganon said, trying his hardest not to show nervousness. He could feel himself getting hot. He honestly didn’t know what to make of this situation. But he didn’t want to shut down or make Link sleep outside, especially when it was colder than usual.

After talking things out to the owner, the two of them had finally been able to get into the room with Link automatically scanning his surroundings, feeling adrenaline in him. He moved from one place to another, never stopping.

Ganon let out a small sigh, and with that, Link immediately settled on the bed.

Huh,

What???

He’s going to sleep in the same bed????

HUH

Link…” Ganon slightly whispered.

You know what. I'm not going to bother. You can take the bed, I’ll take the chair.” Ganon made his way to the chair next to the bed and sat on it, leaning himself back trying to get himself to be comfortable. That is until Link had been staring directly at him while laying down. Even as Ganon tried his best not to look at Link. It was hard as the barbarian started tapping on his arm.

Ganon started to fall asleep until the barbarian GRABBED HIS ARM!!! HUGGED IT??? Ganon's eyes shot open and stared at Link directly in his eyes, Link being Link had tapped the bed next to him. Wanting Ganon to get on.

Get on, why won’t you get on?’
——-

It was a sleepless night for Ganon, as he did not expect Link to be so wild at night.

The night was basically torture, Links limbs always found a way to make them go over Ganons own. And when Ganon had awoken, he was met with Link's body all over him. Link's head had been on his chest horizontally, while the rest of his body was dangling off the bed. One of Link's hands was covering his face, to which he found his own drool on it and quickly wiped it off before the barbarian awoke.

Ganon had to wake up Link so they could get going, the gerudos didn’t mind waiting for Link, as long as it didn’t take them all day.

After successfully waking up the barbarian, Ganon offered to let Link eat before they headed out. Which Link happily accepted and gobbled down all the food he was given.

Link runs up to the horse and gets on, making Ganon run along with him in the process.

Ganon was about to say something to link before a guard interrupted.

We should be able to make it to the hylian kingdom in one and a half days by now, i suggest trying to skip two stables and travel all night to arrive earlier.” The guard said.

Traveling during the night??? Wasn’t that a little dangerous. Especially with all the yiga clan members?

Very well, we will do just that” Ganon said, getting on top of the red maned horse.

The group had been riding for a while now, occasionally taking ten minute breaks in between hours, but they would get to the castle earlier if that meant sacrificing their sleep.

Link had been confused as to why they didn’t usually stop at the second stable, and why they weren’t going to sleep. Although he never expressed it, he casually kept glancing at Ganon, in which Ganon caught on and quickly said that they were going to travel at night so they could get to their destination faster. Before he turned around with his ears tinted red.

Link didn’t mind staying up all night, but Ganon? Has he ever stayed up for more than twenty four hours? Ganon seemed okay to stay up all night. So Link didn’t push it any further.

Ganon was not okay. He was tired, he kept drifting to sleep only to be awakened by himself leaning forward onto Link. Which would be terribly rude. He kept staring into the distance, sometimes even staring at Link's pointy ears.

Although the gods weren’t on his side when he did end up falling asleep.

Link suddenly felt something lean on him from behind, and it turns out it was Ganon. Link's ears slightly turned pink. But he quickly composed himself to be more comfier for Ganon to lean on. He propped Ganon's arms around his waist so that the Gerudo wouldn’t fall during their ride. To which Ganon reacted to and slightly tightened his arms around Link.

Hearing a chuckle from the distance, Link didn’t know how to react and ended up making the horse go faster. Making the gerudo guards speed up.

Some hylians on the road came to question the group of gerudos, especially the one with the hylian.

They all saw a ginormous horse, being ridden by a hylian and gerudo male. They all saw a gerudo man in fancy clothing leading his head on the side of the hylians neck, as well as hugging him. While the gerudo man was fully covered in garments, the females are awfully revealing, only covering up their legs and their upper chest. While the hylian male, also wore revealing clothes, more revealing than the females. What did shock them other than the ginormous horse, was that the hylian male wearing the skull of some sort of animal. But none had the courage to ask, feeling intimidated by the female guard’s.

Finally, the castle was in view. The group had decided that it would be best if they took a short break before heading to the castle. Ganon had stirred up a couple of minutes into the break. He would usually find a snack to eat when he had awoken from his sleep. But this time he was wandering around with Link, they both decided that it was a good idea to kill time. They did seem to emerge in their own little world as they ignored female guards calling them.

Here came the time to head to the castle. Where they’ll be greeted by guards, who would lead them to rest their horses. And would get maids to lead them into the castle. Where they would stay for two-four days before heading back home.

The rest of the ride wasn’t much as they were nearing the castle. Following the gravel path, passing through small towns and shops. Although it did take some time as there were a lot of hylians walking and riding horses on the path.

Halt” said Urbosa, stopping everyone from moving forward. Urbosa's eyes pinpointed Link “Are we really taking Link with us?” She said, her eyes shifted to Ganon leaving him confused.

Link is the center of attention now, although Link might not be fluent in gerudo, he sure did understand what urbosa meant by what she just said. He waited until Urbosa looked at him and nodded his head confirming that he was going with them. Which of course made Urbosa chuckle.

Well, if we are going to take him, we are going to have to change his clothes. I am most certain that hylian guards would allow a barbarian into the palace.” She said, looking at Ganon with her signature smile.

“Ah yes! Let's go find you some clothes Link! Don't worry as you will be with me” Ganon said. Taking over control of the horse and headed the opposite direction.

Although Ganon had quite gained the attention of a lot of hylians as to why a gerudo was in a hylian clothing store, he had ignored it and patiently waited for Link to finish. It ended up taking more time than he had expected. Link felt almost uncomfortable with everything. Well, hylian clothing had covered everything from head to toe, and it would probably be uncomfortable for someone who had been literally almost half naked every day.

Link finally came out. He found some clothes that were not as uncomfortable… It really leaves Ganon agaped… “Link… i'm pretty sure those are for women…” he says as he stared down Link who wore what he's pretty sure was a dress.

Sigh

I'm sure we can find something more suitable,” Ganon said, trying to make Link less down. He got up and was heading to the mens clothing when he was stopped by Link.

No,” Link said. He protested against it. Link just wanted to go. He didn’t like the amount of attention they (Ganon) was getting. He was sure it must have been annoying.

Alright, I’ll just ask one of my guards.” Ganon said, already headed to pay for Links clothes.

“Halt! State your business!” A hylian gate guard said while he smashed the bottom of his spear on the ground, making a loud clack.

One of the gerudo guards passes a scroll to Urbosa who reads it fastly and then gives it to the hylian guard to inspect it. The guard passes it back.

“How many people will be entering?” he questioned.

“One medic, one translator, four guards, the king, and his maid… so eight people” Urbosa answered, feeling quite guilty yet quite unbearably funny that she mentioned Link as a maid.

“And the gerudo king and his maid?” The knight questions.

“The king had important business so he had attended to them before going into the castle” another gerudo guard answered.

“Well… we can’t let you in unless you have your sire with you…” the second guard chimed in. Causing some gerudos to mumble and whisper between themselves.

“Apologies, we are merely doing our job” both knights talk in unison.

Awkward…” a voice entered the picture.

Your majesty!” A gerudo guard yelled out.

All of them turned around and saw the gerudo king leading a huge horse leaving the guards questioning horses.

“…Is this all?” The first hylian guard asks. Not taking his eyes off the big horse behind the gerudo king.

“Yes, along with…err…his maid,” Urbosa said. Getting a confused look from ganon and again earning a confused look from Link.

“Okay, please follow the guard on the left when you get past the bridge” The second guard instructs them.
