Breath it
Breath out
You repeated, like a mantra while keeping your eyes closed. Relaxing your shoulders and back you exhale again, a little slower this time.
Your thoughts must be like a river, flowing slowly into your pound
Repeating Master Splinter words in your head, you take a deep study breath.
This became your everyday activity. Of course besides going to work, or exercising with Raph or spending time with Mikey. Accualy your life has become a little crazy since you met four brothers, but you didn't mind a little chaos. Besides, you also had human friends to spend time with. You actually met them a few years ago, when your former master, Shredder, brought you to New York. Your family always served his clan, and as long as you can remember, you were a servant too. Until Oroku Saki saw your potential, and ordered to train you to become Karai's personal bodyguard.
That was how you met the four turtle brothers, and two of their human friends. Starting as enemies, made it difficult to have a good relationship with them, but time did its job, and here you are. Meditating with Splinter and Leonardo, the blue turtle. Leo and you clicked almost instantly, and the two of you became best friends. Your characters were quite different, but maybe that's the thing that kept you close. Mikey always jokingly said that You were the perfect pair for Raph, which always made the red turtle... red with anger.
To be honest, you developed that special bond with the purple clad. The two of you had a ,,enemies to lovers’’ kinda backstory. It was hard at the beginning, when you had to tolerate his constant flowing over his human friend April. You found his crush.. a little bit weird, because the girl didn't really like him back. Hello! A blind person could see that! But after the invasion thing, and spending time with him on the redhead farm, you grew a soft spot for the tall terrapin. I mean, yeah, he was shy, and weird sometimes, but the thing that pulled you in him the most was his intelligence, and his adorable smile. You almost didn't believe it when he asked you out on a date ( Leo had to tell him that you REALLY like him back). It was almost 1 year ago.
Smiling, your thoughts wandered to your purple boyfriend.
I wonder what he is doing.. maybe a new robot, or a new car? Maybe a new experiment with a trap or-
,,Quiet down (Y/N), your thoughts are really loud'' gentle said the giant Rat who sat beside you, waking you up from your trance. Your cheeks flushed a little, as if you were caught doing something inappropriate.
,,Sorry sensei'' You apologized quickly, shooting a side eye to Leonardo who didn’t even move a muscle. Wow, self control ...
Closing your eyes again you repeated the mantra from before, and started to focus on your breath again.

BANG!
The bang noise, loud enough to shake a whole Lair, woke you up from your concentrated state. You sighed looking at master Splinter, who shook his head while standing up.
,,Let us go, miss (Y/N) and check which of my son's new inventions caused this haos’’ Said the big rat and started to head toward the exit. Smiling a little you started to get gup, but a hand on your forearm stopped you. Looking down you spotted a blue turtle with concerned eyes.
,,What’s up Leo?’’ You asked, as you helped him up.
,, Well… you see.. it’s about Donnie’’ You raised an eyebrow ,, Lately he isn’t himself. Even on the missions. It’s kinda hard you know? I get it, I can demand a lot from him, but on the last mission he got hit by a Krag that was right in front of him! ‘’ Leo paused and looked you in the eyes while making a silent request.
,, Okayy.. I can try to talk to him, but you know how he is. Always daydreaming or thinking of his new inventions..but I can assure you I will try’’ You said while sending you friend a soft smile, which he reciprocated.
The two of you walked out of the dojo, just to greet sheer chaos. Master Splinter was standing in the corner with an amused look on his face and observed a scene in front of him. Mikey was running in circles, his bandana was on fire, and the cape he had on himself (Where he got that, you still wasn’t sure) was smoking. Raph was sitting in the corner laughing his ass off, as Donnie tried to suppress the fire on his brother's head with a fire extinguisher. You looked at your blue bandana friend who sighed heavily before helping his genius sibling. He grabbed a fire blanket and helped to free Mikey from his cape opression.
The little guy could finally collapse on the floor in relief. Unfortunately the peace was quickly forgotten as Donnie started his (almost) daily activity, which was scolding his orange sibling and trying to explain to him what would happen if he didn’t stop him in time.
The rest of us listened, and with final ,,you are out of your Shell Mikey!’’ Donnie left and disappeared in his lab. You looked at Michelangelo, who was now looking at the floor, and you could have sworn that you heard a faint wailing coming from him. Putting on a comforting smile, and stepping to him you began:
,,Don’t you worry Mikster! Don was on edge lately, I'm sure he didn’t mean that’’ You said with hope in your voice. At least I think he didn’t …
Mikey looked up at you with a smile and glowy eyes, ,,Yeah.. you are probably right. But I really blew this up this time… He was so mad at me (Y/N)! Can you talk to him and tell him I’am sorry? ‘’ He asked, looking at you with his, now mastered, puppy eyes.
Suppressing your laughter, you nodded and stood up, and directed your steps into the lab. You stopped right in front of the entrance, and knocked a few times. After not getting any answer you repeated the process, until you heard a faint: ,,No, go away Leo’’ .
,,I’m not Leo D, but I can call him if that would make you feel better’’ You said with worry in your voice. Suddenly the metal doors swung open, and a very tired and sleep deprived Donnie looked down at you.
,,Hi..’’ He mustered while moving out of the entrance way to let you in.
Taking a glance at The genius turtle you spotted a bag under his eyes. His skin had a little lighter tone than usual, but it didn't look that unhealthy.
You sat on the extra chair that he put in the lab since the two of you started dating.
,,Sooo" you started, this got his attention to focus on you. Eyes slowly blinking on focus, and a soft smile appeared on his beck. Gosh, even when tired he looked so cute…
,, Donnie.. D, come here please " you said while reaching your hands in his direction. He stepped closer to you, scoped a chair, and sat in front of you.
,, Honey, I'm worried about you. You don't sleep a lot… I don't even know IF you slept in these few days. You don't eat a lot, and your portion is too small or has less value than energy drinks. Coffee pot is almost film, besides, of course, time when you take it to Your room, and empty it in a few minutes. " You said making eye contact with your boyfriend. He sighed and took your hands into his, three fingered one.
You observed as his face changed, his eyebrow bones furrowed, his lips shut tight, and he dropped his eyes on the ground.,,I just’’ He started quietly ,, I just with you had a normal life’’ He said with a defeated sigh
You sat there dumbfounded like Mikey when someone tried to explain to him complex mathematics. ,,Donnie, what are you talking about?’’
He finally looked at you, with a look of the sad puppy. , ,Look at me (Y/N) . I’m a mutant. I can’t give you a normal life, o-or I can’t take you on normal dates. Check! I’m not even a normal mutant, because beside this whole situation’’ He pointed at himself ,,I’m also an enemy of Shredder, and a bunch of other sickos.’’ He sighed ,,I sometimes wish I could do more, but instead.. I could only bild these machines with old Kraang parts, and sometimes they make more trouble than help, a-and I just wish I could give you a normal life.. you know?’’ His voice started to shake as his hand squeezed yours ,,I’m sorry.. for making you worry I was just upset and-and wanted to distract myself from this’’ He finished and looked you in the eyes not nearly knowing what to expect. What he didn’t expect was tears.
,,Wh.. Why are you crying? Did I say something wrong, offensive, bad?’’ He stammered around the words, and started to panic as he observed the salty liquid that dripped down your cheeks.
Suddenly you pulled him in a tight hug. ,,Donnie.. D.. I would never have thought of you differently. Sure you are not human, but if that would bother me this much do you think I would agree to date you? I care about you, you are my precious, genius boyfriend for fuck sake! Who cares if I don’t go for any of these stupid dates, I like spending time with you’’ You started to rub steady circles on his shell, trying to seem as comforting as you could ,,I-I don’t care that Shredder is after you, he is after me too! Your machines… sure they sometimes fail but they also help a lot! I don’t care that we have to face the difficulties of saving the world because..’’ You pulled away, to look him in the eyes ,,You one of the most important person in my life D’’ You finish caressing his cheek.
At this moment he finally lost it, as tears started to stammer down his cheeks. He buried his snout in the crook of your neck as his hands squeezed around your waist. You decided to say nothing more, and comfort him the best you could.
Reaching your hand over his shell, you started to rub circles again adding a little pressure. Your other hand rested on top of his head as you stoked it lightly. You nuzzled your cheek against the back of his neck and started to hum quietly. After a while you heard a quiet chuckle. ,,Are you really humming The Lord of The Rings theme?’’
Blushing slightly, you smiled softly, ,,Yeah… I thought it would make you calmer. Is it working?’’ You asked quietly, trying to not overwhelm him. Not slowing the rhythm of the song, you shifted yourself closer to him. It must have looked comical, taking into account the height difference between the two of you. ,,It is…’’ He hummed in response while relaxing his music a little bit. He tried to focus more on the improvised movie soundtrack and not on the embarrassing confession he just made. His heart pounded in his chest as he tried to not become overwhelmed by all of this.
The buzzling of the machines,
The metallic smell in the air,

He exhaled sharply the breath he didn’t know he was holding as his hold on you was easier. He opened his eyes, not even sure when he closed them, as the image of his lab slowly started to appear in front of him. Slowly he raises his head to look at you, making your hands let go of his body. You slowly situated them at his forearms, as you tried to not speak yet, worried that it would be too much for your boyfriend. His eyes fixated on your face and…
Gosh, he really had a beautiful eyes
You could almost feel the love he had for you. His brown, almost red pupils stared at you with such trust and admiration you could feel your heart skip the beet. Slowly he raised his hand and started to caress your cheek. A gentle, true smile slowly appeared on his beck, as you snuggled your head into his palm. ,,You know’’ He started ,,I’m really, really happy I met you. You are the most caring and loving person I have ever known. Y-You make me so,so, so, happy’’ The last words were whispered in your ear as he came closer to you and kissed your cheek slowly. He was so romantic, and you… you were screaming. On the inside.
,,Donnie, I love you so much’’ was the only words you could possibly muster as you felt your insides doing the funny fuzzy feeling, and your head starting to get lighter. Slowly bringing hand to his face, and resting it on his cheek you tugged lightly, trying to bring his face closer to yours. Moving your head in his direction, you took your time looking for any signs of discomfort. In his eyes you couldn’t sense a sense of hesitation, as you closed the gap between the two of you. The butterflies erupted in your stomach, as your lips touched his. Instantly closing your eyes you allowed your arms to hug him around the neck, as you tried to steady yourself.
Suddenly a quiet sound reached your ears. A faint hurring was heard from inside of his chest. You could almost swear you felt it vibrate under your touch. You smile into the kiss, as you tilted your head to the back, steadily deepening a kiss. You felt his hands on your waist again, this time holding you with such gentelnes you almost teared up. Finally the two of you parted without hurry. Your eyes opened as you looked at him with gratitude and affection. He slowly rested his forehead on yours as a quiet plea left his lips ,,Can I get more?’’
You could swear that the universe was testing you because in that moment you could feel as if your whole body was on fire. Leisurely nodding your head, you felt his hungry lips on you once more. The kiss was quick, but passionate and filled with love. At this moment he could swear that he can’t imagine his life without you, you completed him, and filled his life with colors.
He calmly let go of your lips, as he looked you in the eyes once more ,, Falling in love with you was the most beautiful thing I have ever experienced’’ He whispers as he plants a loving kiss on your cheek ,,thank you, my love, for existing’’ He finished, as a lovestruck smile began to appear on his face. You could feel your heart beating so fast, and your cheeks becoming more and more red. You hugged him again, too overwhelmed with pure love to say anything. Slowly, after a while, you rose again, and took his face in both of your hands.
