He left out the part about Mav because no one, not even Phoenix, knew about their close relationship. If they did then he and Mav would get tangled up in long ‘conflict of interest’ court cases and possibly lose their jobs or at least the chance to work together. He shook his head, Bradley couldn’t let that happen.

Or, Bradley and Maverick are on good terms the whole time and have to hide their father-son relationship. Good thing the daggers are catching on and instead of hiding his 1 kid, Maverick ends up with a dozen more kids. Oh well.
