Weekend Getaway

Summary:

Prompt fill for oo-mi-ru-oo on tumblr. They requested Kaiser / Sae + "Vacation"

-----

All Sae wanted was a little bit of a break. A weekend on the beach. Sunshine and cat naps under his beach umbrella.

But of course, a surprise appearance on his vacation allows nothing of the sort.

Work Text:

A day alone. Relaxing. That’s really all he wanted. He had his sunscreen and a bottle of water and a book, and he was only planning to stay until the beach got too crowded or he needed a snack.  Then he would go back to his hotel room, order room service, and pass out watching some Spanish drama that he would forget the name of before he woke up.

He didn’t even want to get in the water.  All he wanted was a break . And his manager had been so gracious to set this weekend get-away up for him so he could have that break before he bit any of his teammates heads off.

But that was impossible, wasn’t it? He was Itoshi Sae after all, and nothing had ever come easy for him, not even a break from demands and expectations.

Sae grimaced as he felt the sand around his feet shift, covering his toes and disrupting his footing that he had worked so hard on. He had piled the sand up just right and now he would have to spend another 20 minutes working on it.

And all of that isn’t even mentioning the shadow that fell across his body, blocking out the sun and disrupting his cat nap. He heard words in a language he didn’t speak, and he cracked one eye open, getting a view of just who was deciding to disturb him.

Oh, well that is quite unfortunate isn't it?

Staring down at him with a mischievous smile, taunting blue eyes concealed by sunglasses, was none other than Sae’s fellow youth football star, Michael fucking Kaiser.  Sae grimaced, sitting up straight from his reclined position in the sand, and pushed his own sunglasses up to his forehead, just so Michael could see the irritation in his eyes.

“See, Ness, I told you I saw Sae from across the beach,” Michael said, thickly accented English falling out of his smirking lips.  “I’m sure he wouldn’t mind a bit more company.”

“I’ll go grab our things,” Ness replied, smiling sweetly at Sae as he protested, mentally cursing his fellow midfielder for leaving him alone with his teammate.

As Ness walked away, Michael plopped down in the sand beside him.  Sae side-eyed him, trying not to fuss too much as Michael kicked up sand onto his towel. He turned his gaze away quickly when Michael caught him staring at his damp skin, still wet from the ocean.

Smirking again, Michael leaned back, one hand slipping behind Sae to prop himself up as he relaxed, clearly peacocking and showing himself off to his grumpy rival.

“So, you don’t live around here, right? I didn’t think Madrid was this close to the sea,” Michael mused, enjoying Sae’s tense body language as he tried to lean away as subtly as he could without making it obvious that Michael was making him incredibly uncomfortable for a multitude of reasons.

The first being his physical proximity.

The second being the fact that Michael was definitely flexing each time he caught Sae looking at his bare arms or chest, teasing him further.

“I’m only here for the weekend,” Sae responded, flipping his sunglasses back over his eyes as he pulled his knees up, wrapping his arms around them in an attempt to make himself as tiny as possible.

“Oh how convenient,” Michael grinned, shifting in the sand and deliberately touching Sae’s lower back as he moved, thumb grazing his skin just over the edge of his swim trunks. “Join Ness and I for dinner? I’m sure you know all the good places.”

Sae scowled, leaning away again as Michael touched him once more. Conflicted, he considered the options. First, he could say no, and he would be seen as rude and disrespectful when he was clearly alone, but he didn’t really care if Michael thought that way about him.  Second, he could say yes, and the dinner would very likely end up just being the two of them, as Ness seemed just as scheming as Micahel when it came to the mission of getting the striker into Sae’s pants.  He really couldn’t decide. Both options were so appealing .

“What hotel are you staying at?” Sae asked instead of answering, hoping to buy himself more time until he made a decision.  Michael quickly answered however, reciting the name of the very hotel Sae was staying at, and Sae realized his vacation was ruined, one way or another.  “How long are you staying?”

“We’ve actually been here all week.  Some other of the Bastard Munchen guys were with us as well, but they have all dispersed to their own destinations.  Ness and I are two of the few that are still here until tomorrow…” Michael sighed, his shoulders sinking as he reported that fact dramatically.  His demeanor changed however as he grinned, leaning in close to whisper into Sae’s ear “It would really make my trip if you joined me for dinner. You know I love seeing you.”

Sae stared straight ahead, watching the blue waves crashing over each other in the ocean. He did not pull away again, because he didn’t want Michael to think him weak…as if he could pick and poke at him and always have Sae back down.

Instead, Sae turned his head towards Michael, forcing him to move away so that his nose didn’t get clocked by the side of Sae’s head.  Sae smirked, catching Michael in his fib.

“I thought you said it was dinner with you and Ness.”

Michael responded with a laugh, waving at his returning friend over Sae’s shoulder before lowering his voice so only Sae could hear him.

“I think you know I only wanted dinner with you all along,” Michael smiled, his voice as sickly sweet as honey, trying to lure Sae like a fly into his trap.

“Well that really is a disappointment.  Not confident enough in yourself that you had to use Ness as bait to ask me on a date?” Sae raised his eyebrows, a pitying look gracing his face as Michael stood up, accepting his things from Ness who gave Sae a pleasant smile, completely hiding his ill intentions by leaving the two alone for so long.

“Ouch, my ego…Sae, that wounds me,” grabbing his chest, acting as if he had just been stabbed, before throwing his towel on the ground beside him.  He leaned in close to him once again, so close that their noses would touch if one of them moved in just a centimeter more. “Well, how about it? Dinner? You still haven’t answered me.”

Sae rolled his eyes, knowing that Michael already knew the answer to that question.  They had been doing this song and dance for years, ever since they first met at an interclub youth match years back.

“Only if you pay.”

“I’d even pay for you to come visit me in Germany, if you’d like,” Michael suggested, smirk solidified on his face as an unchanging expression, victory apparent in his tone.

“I’d rather die,” Sae stated as he picked up his book, dusting the sand off the pages that Michael had kicked up.  Looking up at Kaiser one last time before he started ignoring him by reading, Sae noted “pick me up at 7 in room 306.”

Michael inhaled sharply, excitement apparent as he turned to Ness.

“Hear that, Ness? I’ll be in room 306 tonight.”

Clapping his hands together happily, Ness cheered, “yay, now I don’t have to listen to you snore all night!”

Notes:

I would give just about anything to be on the beach right now. But alas, I'm in the middle of a heatwave and would crisp up like bacon. So, living vicariously through Sae right now in so many ways.
