Summary
Finding the Mandalorian outside his door, unconscious and bleeding out, was not something that Mayfeld expected in his new, much quieter life. He knew he couldn’t leave him, considering everything the man had done for him, so Mayfeld takes it upon himself to nurse the Mandalorian back to health.

“Wait, you said you trust me? Why the kriff would you do something like that?”
The corner of Mando’s lip twitched upward, “You’ve more than proven that you are an honorable friend.”
The words were like being slapped by a fish, except the fish was made of emotions—painful yet blissful feelings that sent both prickly and soft zings through his body. Friend? Mando had just called him a friend?
He blinked, his eyes suddenly burning. For no reason. At all. Not as if hearing someone call him ‘friend’ was something to be emotional about. He wasn’t a drama queen, for kriff’s sake. He was just tired, and his eyes ached. That’s all.
“Oh…” he said softly, “Well, thanks, Mando. It’s good to have a friend in these trying times, I guess.” -
